  2. GOLD!!! You're a ledgend! I just bought a house so im soooo tight on coin at the moment. Ill have my phone on me. Thanks, Shaun. P.S. I dont know if they'll fit on the Toyota Echo though!
  3. Richard. PM sent. Shaun
  4. He asked for our advice. Ive had experience with the LTX12 on a 33gtr engine and it was terrible. I agree totally that a car is as good as the tuner, and guess who tuned my car mate. RX Engineering. I blame the computer (in relation to the application) AND the tuner. The whole exercise was extremely dissappointing and expensive! Have you used an Autronic? I laugh at your SR20 making 158kw. Surely its not in a Gazelle either!
  5. Just some advice; if youre going to use braided lines, use the teflon lined Earls braid to remove any fuel smell from the cabin or boot. Its more expensive but its worth it. Im not sure how (or why) the bubber lined braid seeps the fuel smell, but it definately does. Ive used the teflon stuff and its gold! Shaun.
  6. Listen to these dudes mate. Ive had an LTX 12 running my R33gtr engine and it sucked sooooo bad. It didnt idle well at all and was a dog to drive. It was tuned by and apparent Microtech god (north of Sydney) and it was a complete waste of money (> $1200 for the tune i think). Ive since changed to an Autronic SM4 and its chalk and cheese compared to the Microtech. The difference really is unbelievable. If you dont mind an AFM go the Power FC for ease of installation and tuning. Microtechs work excellently on rotories but for some reason dont work well on piston engines (comparitavely). Shaun.
  7. Or i could just buy them and sell two i suppose. Give us a ring and we'll sort something out. Shaun.
  8. Hey Richard, Just wondering if youre interested in selling two wheels only. Maybe someone else out there is wondering the same and we could go halves?? Im working around St Ives tomorrow and id like to see them regardless; let me know if possible. Shaun 0414972596.
  9. Nah, im using an Autronic SM4. Sorry, should have mentioned that.
  10. GDay, Ive just completed an RB26 conversion in my R32 gtst, and ive noticed that my ABS light is constantly on in the dash. The car has been off the road for 2 years and i havent actually driven it yet as its untuned, but ive had it idling several times for long periods (at fluctuating revs) and the light is constantly on. Ive locked the HICAS with a lock bar and, as expected, the HICAS light is constantly on as well. My questions are: Will the locking of the HICAS in anyway affect the ABS and cause the light to come on? Has anyone had any experience with this and know any possible reasons that the light will come on? PS. The brake fluid isnt low either. Thanks, Shaun.
  11. The Autronic has an output for thermos, so my friend who is an Autronic wiz wired them in for me. Electronics is the only area where im a dumb arse, so i let him do it for me. You can even stagger the fans so that one comes on at one temperature and the other comes on at another. Anyway, he said its a simple job if you know what youre doing. Sorry i dont have specifics. I just bought some Falcon (EF?) thermos from a wreckers and extensively modified the falcon shroud to fit in front of the radiator with the A/C removed. Youve really got to make sure the whole system is sealed so that no air can get around the radiator. They work great.
  12. The front diff was cut off and the front drive shaft holes were welded up. Tomie sump baffles are also used. Then i used an RB25 gearbox with modified gearbox mount (the holes dont line up) and custom tail shaft. The shaft is custom because the RB25 yoke is bigger and the total length of the GB is also longer than the RB20 item.
  13. Yeah, wheel spin will be a problem. Oh well. Im using a standard radiator with EF Falcon thermo fans that are mounted in front of the radiator, and i reversed the direction of rotation so that they push air thru the radiator. Theyre awesome. They push sooo much air. I spent heaps of time modifying the Falcon shroud and sealing the system though. Mounting the engine is easy as. Youve just gotta use the RB20 engine mounts instead of the RB26 mounts. If using standard turbos, the oil return line fouls on the passenger side mount though. Shaun.
  14. GDay, Just thought i'd post up some updated photos of my car, as some people were interested last time. For those who dont know, its a 1997 RB26 with forged pistons, prepped rods, ARP fasteners throughout, all the usual oil control mods (sump baffles, N1 pump, restrictors), GT35 Turbo, Autronic SM4, Trust 4inch exhaust, 100mm intercooler etc. I also spent heaps of time making stainless heat shields to help reduce under bonnet temps. All the hot bits are also ceramic coated or wrapped (or both!). I started it for the first time in about 2 years last week and all went really well. Although its untuned, it still starts off the key with no probs; the Autronic is well worth the money in my opinion. Ive just got to clean up the Autronic wiring and wire in the Autronic boost controller. Im using a seperate solenoid and switches in the cabin so that i can select between 3 boost settings ranging from about 7psi to maybe 25psi. Then ill tow it to Silverwater Automotive where Dave will tune it for me. Im hoping for about 330 to 350rwkw, but as long as its responsive i dont really care. I went for the 0.82 turbine housing, so it should be good on the street. Im hearing a bit of reversion when revving, so i hope the housing isnt too small. i think the BOV (Tial) is a bit stiff due to no use for 2 years, so that should explain that. Does anyone have any experience with these turbos on my engine. Will it be too small?? Anyway, here's some photos.
  15. GDay, Ive got some 255's on the rear of my R32 gtst and theyre hitting the guard on long undulating bumps. Just wondering if anyone knows where i can get someone to roll my guards (without damaging them) in the Sydney or Central Coast area. Also, a ball park price would be good. Thanks, Shaun.
  16. GDay, Ive got a few parts to sell. All prices are negotiable. • An R32 power steering pump for sale. Its off a 1993 HICAS gtst and is in perfect working condition. $80 + postage. See pic below. • Ive also got two air conditioning compressors for sale. One off the above mentioned R32 and another off an R33 GTR 97 model. Both in excellent condition. $100 each. Ive also got all the other air conditioning equipment off the R32 (thermo, condenser etc) in excellent condition. • A 600x300x76mm Hybrid style DNA Motorsports intercooler for sale as well. Its a bar and plate polished item with 3 inch outlets and is in perfect condition as well. $150 + postage is a great price for this slightly used intercooler. • A brand new genuine Nismo gearbox mount for an R32 gtst. Much stiffer than the standard item. $100 + postage. As stated, all prices are relatively negotiable. Dont hesitate to contact Shaun on 0414972596 anytime; i dont get to check the internet very often. Cheers, Shaun.
  17. After over two years of putting my Rb26 together, i fired it up for the first time yesterday. Im using an Autronic SM4 and my engine started off the key almost first go. I reckon it idles better than factory in its current untuned state! Im hoping for between 330 and 350rwkw and ive been advised that i shouldnt have any ignition problems at this level. This is actually why i chose the SM4 over the SMC, because it has ignition drivers (? terminology?) and you dont need to use a CDI which is about another $1000. Autronics downfall is its customer service; which is why i believe ill informed people put shit on the computers. Ive also seen another two very serious twin turbo and super charged V8's behave like every day drivers when tuned with autronics. Im sold.
  18. GDay, im after an R32 power steering pump in excellent condition. Ideally, id like it off a 1993 HICAS model with low kms etc, but i need one pretty badly so give me a call if youve got one. Thanks, Shaun 0414972596
  19. You can actually buy them from Lincorp Automotive for $100 delivered. The part has the R33 gear for the gear box but uses the R32 speedo drive. They did, however, send me the wrong one, so i had to swap the gear off the R32 speedo drive. Pretty easy to do. Speak to Tim 02 96845777.
  20. GDay, While doing an engine rebuild, i decided to remove all the air conditioning equipment from my R32 gtst. I now have the entire A/C setup for sale as follows: • 2 x A/C compressors - One off an R33 GTR ($100 each) • The condensor ($50) • The thermo fan ($40) • All associated lines in excellent condition. ($40) Ive also got a used 600x300x76mm hybrid style DNA Motorsports intercooler in excellent condition. $150. RB20 crossover pipe with a Tial BOV flange welded into it by GCG Turbos. Looks brand new. $50. I live on the Central Coast, just north of Sydney. Feel free to call 0414972596 anytime, as prices are reletively negotiable. I can post pics when i get time too. Shaun.
  21. Ive heard of heaps snapping too. There's no warrenty against this either, as they believe its always an installation error; ie torquing up in wrong order or with the incorrect orientation of the lobes. Bummer.
  22. I got the decal with the engine. Ive seen them on Nengan or Greenline for $120 + postage! I'd actually rather the standard one (off an R34 preferably), as i dont have any HKS gear at all. Anyone wanna swap theirs? Cruiseliner, your VL engine bay looks great. Only people who polish realise how much time and effort it takes. How hard is it polishing stainless steel washers!! Shaun.
  23. Yep Cubes, im in. Id like a plug too! Thanks for youre efforts, Shaun.
