I have a nismo billet (one piece) chromoly flywheel for sale; will suit all RB engines using a push type clutch. It weighs around 6kg; the standard flywheel weighs 9.8kgs. Worth around $1000 new. Asking $400 ono and im bummed that i cant use it. Also selling a single plate 5 puck cerametallic push type clutch. This clutch will hold around 260rwkw maximum. It has about 50% left on the pads; the pressure plate is in excellent condition (no cracks etc). Asking $350 ono. I can also have the clutch rebuilt so it is like new for an extra $200 (this involves machining pressure plate, new clutch material and new paint so it looks nice and sexy). The new clutch cost me $875 so for anyone looking for a good clutch upgrade this could be a cheap alternative. This clutch was built by Carters Clutches in Newcastle and i was extremely happy with its performance. Will suit RB20, 25 and some 26's. The reason behind the sale is that im building an RB26 engine that will probably require a dual plate clutch. For any enquiries call Shaun on 0414972596. I can email pics for serious buyers too.

Does anyone know if all the RB series flywheels are the same. Ive had the same flywheel on an RB20 and an R33 GTR (with a 33GTST box) and they worked fine. I just want to know if this flywheel will fit on an R33 GTST without any dramas. This is because i want to sell them and all interested parties have R33gtst's. I dont want to screw them around. Thanks, Shaun. PS Will an R32 flywheel and standard clutch fit on an SR20?

Fs. Nismo Flywheel And Clutch
Shaun replied to Shaun's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Ill e mail pics as soon as possible. The clutch was firm but ok for city stuff. It has a sprung centre. The light flywheel increased accelleration heaps. It didnt cause any vibrations at all. Youve gotta be aware that you have one when youre going up hills, but i didnt find it a problem. -

Hi, I need an alloy or steel flywheel for an R33 GTR engine using an R33 GTST gearbox. That means that it uses a 'push' type clutch. Im not sure if it makes any difference. Anyway, if you have a good one for sale can you call me on 0414972596. Thanks, Shaun.

I forgot to mention that i've also heard that you can lightly pack the unbaffled can with (good quality) steel wool. This apparently works similarly to baffles. Make sure that if its going back into the inlet the steel wool cant break off!
-
Im no expert, but i have heard that in order for the catch can to work properly baffles are necessary. This is so that the oil can precipitate out of the air and fall to the base of the can. If your venting to the atmosphere (using a filter) it probably wouldnt matter, but if your returning the gases to the inlet i'd do it properly. Just a thought.

Cryogenically treated RB26 engine internals
Shaun replied to Shaun's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thanks plynx, that does help. Ill look into it further. -
Im getting my R33 GTR engine rebuilt with forged pistons and standard everything else, and i was wondering about cryogenically treating the rotating assembly. Does anyone know more about this process and the results achieved. I would also like to know where in sydney i can get this done. I understand that it involves cooling the material to -240 degrees celcius so that the grains in the metal realign, therefore destressing the component. Some more info would be appreciated. Thanks, Shaun. 0414972596
