2 X Bridgestone Potenza Re050a Tyres For Sale.
Shaun replied to Shaun's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
OK, $200 then. -
Its kinda cheating, but i just got back from Europe and while i was there, i visited Maranello in Italy (where the Ferarri factory is). They've got an awesome Galleria there where all of the Formula 1 engines are on display, along with the Enzo and F40 (pictured) and other historic Ferrari's. I reckon the Enzo is the most beautiful car ever made. I also snuck up to the Fiorano test track and saw the new 2009 Formula 1 car being tested. Included is a pic of the 1986 twin turbo 1.5 litre F1 engine producing over 1000hp, and some of the latest F1 engines. Shaun.

I heard from a reliable source that the cops will be setting up a defect station at the Haven, Terrigal this Thursday & Friday night and next Thursday & Friday night. I believe that this includes emissions testing, but dont quote me on that. Lights will be set up, and unmarked police cars will be sent out to pick up modified cars and escort them back to the Haven for testing. I never ever drive my car on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday night due to this possibility, but for those that do, watch out on the above mentioned nights.

2 X Bridgestone Potenza Re050a Tyres For Sale.
Shaun replied to Shaun's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Still here. -
$2-$3000 on a rebuild! Honestly man, triple that and you're getting into the ballpark with an RB26, especially if oil starvation caused the failure. Modifying the Rb26 is an expensive proposition. Thats why many of our cars have been off the road for months or years. If i were you, i'd ditch the GTR and buy a house! Cubes is right though^^^^^^^^

Does anyone know what UTQG the 615's have? Their website doesnt list it. MrKotter, are you using them as an everyday street tyre? Im pretty keen to know more about these. Shaun.

Need Some Advice On Which Tyres To Get
Shaun replied to Shaun's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yeah, ive been reading through 40 odd pages of the tyre sticky. Unfortunately the Federal 595RS is out of stock in the 255 size; they sounded good. The Falken RT615 might be the go then. Also, what does UTQG mean? I think its the wear rating or something; the higher the number, the softer the compound. Is this right? -
Hey does anyone know how much these RT615's would be in a 255x40x17 and 235x45x17. Ball park prices would be ok; it just past 5 and all the tyre places arent answering for quotes! Dont really want to spend more than $250 each. Cheers, Shaun.

Just Ran In My New Kaaz Diff
Shaun replied to Shaun's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yeah, i kinda like it. Makes it feel a bit like a race car. It feels really predictable which is good; i never knew what the standard one was going to do. Cheers, Shaun. -
Hey, Im after some tyres for the rear of my r32 skyline, and i wouldnt know where to start. My car has 350kw and im after something that will resist as much wheel spin as possible. I drive the car 100% on the street, never in the rain. I dont think semi slicks will suit me because i want to get a reasonable life out of the tyres and im pretty sure theyre too expensive for me. Im hoping not to spend much more than $250 each for 255x40x17. Is this reasonable? I was looking at the Toyo top of the line street tyre but a few people have said that the Michelin or Pirelli are awesome. Has anyone used Maxxis tyres? Im lost. Shaun.

Just Ran In My New Kaaz Diff
Shaun replied to Shaun's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Changed the oil today with new Kaaz gear oil and went for a good run to Brooklyn along the Pacific Hwy. Its getting quieter all the time and only clunks every now and then. Im happy with the diff, but fcuk it pushes you to understeer out of corners. I wasnt prepared for it a few times, but getting used to it now; nice and predictable. Is this (understeer) what mechanical diffs do or am i just a sh1t driver?! Shaun. -
Just Ran In My New Kaaz Diff
Shaun replied to Shaun's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
ok. I should be getting a new can in the post tomorrow. -
It depends if youre going to keep the car for a long time i reckon. If so, id definately put forged pistons and a crank collar on with N1 oil pump (your sig says R32). Then if money is tight, you can put the standard turbos back on and when you do want to put 2530s or whatever on, you have the supporting mods to handle increased power. Forged pistons arent expensive today anyway. Dont bother with rods, the gtr ones are adequate. Having said all that; figure out how much it'll cost, then triple it. Its always the way. Shaun.

Did you do the run in procedure figure 8 thing like it said in the book?? Feels like the whole rear cradle falls off when it clunks. Shaun. -
Just Ran In My New Kaaz Diff
Shaun replied to Shaun's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I reckon my paintjob on the diff housing is sexy; dunno about the diff itself though. I havent given it much stick yet because ive only just run it in and still have the old oil in it. They reckon if the clutch packs see too much torque during the run in period, they can bed in at an angle and result in less than perfect operation. I hope the noises go though. It did seem predictable when i was doing tight figure 8's and sliding a bit. Shaun. -
Gday, I just ran in my new Kaaz 1.5 way diff doing the figure 8 thing for 30 mins. Jeez i copped some strange looks while i was doing it in a car park. Anyway, the clunk noises have become considerably less after the run in procedure, but the diff still makes noises (clunk, clunk) sometimes when turning a tight corner. Is this normal? Im hoping the noises will disappear completely after i change the run in oil. Should i change the run in oil to new Kaaz gear oil immediately after the run in procedure, or should i drive around a bit before i put new oil in? Thanks for any help. Shaun.

Hi, Ive got two Bridgestone Potenza Re050A tyres for sale with about 70% tread left (see photos). These tyres have run flat technology (RFT) and are 255x40x17. I got them second hand a few months ago and never used them, so theyre up for sale now. Im asking $250 negotiable. Im on the Central Coast (Gosford). I dont really want to post them, so pick up only or i can meet you somewhere. Shaun 0414972596

Ahhhhh, got it now. Put the exhaust back on today. Jeez its quiet with the screemer plumbed in. Anyway, here are some more photos of the centre muffler and how much room is around it when fitted. Just in case you want to go bigger or different dimensions. There is heaps of room around the rear muffler too. Also, for those of you who are obsessive compulsive and want to clean your stainless exhaust, i discovered that phosphoric acid (rust converter) does a great job. Just rub it on with you hand, leave it for a minute, and wash off with water. Shaun.
-
Yeah, happy with the price. Hey what does FTW stand for? Ive always wondered that.
-
Ill come for a spin if im not working on the 14th. Gotta meet some of you guys sometime. Paul, get your car on the road! Shaun.
-
Thats a good price for the two mufflers. Were they the same as my rear one? Im no expert, but i think you might find that its a bit loud, as the centre offset muffler gives really good noise supression. Ive run my car without the rear muffler (with only the centre custom job in), and it wasnt that much louder than with the complete exhaust on, which i found suprising. If youve still got twin turbos it may not be too bad though. Anyway, you'll be able to sell the muffler for a good price if you find that you dont need it. Shaun.
