Around $1500 to rebuild depending on what parts are needed. I havent done it myself, but ive searched in depth on this topic. Wanna sell your redline oil to me??? Shaun.

*****EDIT***** Make that offset in/ centre out in design, with the offset towards the drivers side of the car. Sorry; i had it around the wrong way! Ill take some more photos tomorrow so you can see if there is more room around the mufflers if you want to go bigger. With the way the US dollar is at the moment, maybe Magnaflow wouldnt be the most cost effective option. I think mine was about $330 (exact price is in first post), but that was when the dollar was about 0.94. It might be worth getting two custom mufflers made from Hightech. There is heaps of room around the rear muffler. Shaun.

Sirracer and GTR1993, ill just post the info here rather than send seperate PM's. The dimensions of the Hi Tech made centre muffler are: 305mm long x 220mm wide x 150mm thick. As you can see from the photos, the design is centre in and offset out with perforated tube through the middle. The offset is towards the passenger side of the car. The specs and product code of the rear magnaflow muffler are in my first post. I dont think there is any more you should need to know to order the same custom muffler from hightech, but dont hesitate to ask if there is. These are old photos, so i can take some new ones tomorrow when my exhaust is on if you like. Shaun.

Ati Balancer To Suit Gtr Rb26
Shaun replied to NRVOUS's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Definately 500hp, not 1000. -
Ok, Ill have them to you by the end of the week. Im pretty sure i mentioned that the wastegate was venting to atmosphere when i had the car tuned. I dont think it would make any difference if it was plumbed back in though. Ive since made another front pipe that plumbs the screemer in, and ill put that on this week. Shaun.

No worries. Ill send you exact measurements, and a photo of the centre muffler when installed in the car. Ill do it in the next few days. Shaun.

No worries. Ive got the diff out of the car at the moment, so the exhaust is on the bench. If you need exact measurements of the centre muffler let me know. Ill be putting it back in on thursday. Shaun.

Ok, ill check for you as soon as i can. If you want to check the exhaust out, im sure we could arrange something (if your in or around Sydney that is). Im in Gosford. Ill still check for you, but im sure the Hi Tech in Sydney and Bathurst would be the same company. Shaun.

No i dont. Im hopeless with computers too, so i doubt i could figure it out. Maybe i could take a vid of it with my digital camera, and upload it somewhere. Im just hopeless with converting files etc; i dont understand that at all.

Ideas For Crank And Cam Position Sensor Set Ups?
Shaun replied to Chris Wilson's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
My tuner wants me to dump the stock cas and get the signal from the crank pulley because my timing is moving around a bit at high rpm. I havent looked into it yet, but he has a bracket made up and somehow integrates a trigger disk into the bracket and balancer down there. Its not really of any help to you, but i just thought id mention that they have had great success with these set ups. Shaun. -
Nah, i dont think thats them. Im pretty sure theyre in Bathurst. Same name though; maybe it is them, but they just have their factory in Bathurst. My exhaust guy is away, so i camt find out atm. Shaun.

I found the best of both worlds. I think ive posted my experiences with photos somewhere (i dont have time to do it again now), but i used a custom 3.5 inch oval centre muffler made by high tech, and a Magna flow oval rear all with 3.5 inch stainless tubing. Sooo quiet, i dont think a cop would look twice, no drone what so ever, i love it. PM me if you want specific details such as cost and photos etc. You can also search my recent threads. Shaun.

Mine was done professionally (i bought the engine with the sump conversion done), but i still had to trim a bit off the drivers side of the sump as it was very close to the cross member. There seems to be a fair bit of meat there. The guy who did mine obviously used a toothed blade, as you can see the cutting marks. Id be cautious about using a 1mm disk as you have to cut accurately.

Finally Got My Car Tuned - Dyno Results
Shaun replied to Shaun's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Sorry, i missed the post. Ive set up my boost control since then and its really different to drive on the road because the gate isnt creeping open anymore. Its so much more drivable on the road now, and im getting about 8 psi at 3000 rpm, so im happy with the 1.06 turbine housing now. It feels much torquier in traffic. Thats all thats changed. -
Theyre a tolerance fit, so they just pull out.

Yeah, thats what i thought. I ended up getting an R33 diff for $150, so pretty happy with that. I get to change my ratio as a bonus. I actually had three offers of R33 diffs for $150, and a couple of crown wheel and pinion sets for around $70, so its possible to get these things pretty cheap. Just Jap and a few other wreckers wanted to charge me up to $495. Shaun.

I bought a set of MINT condition r32 gtr rims with decent tyres (60% left) for $500 about 10 months ago. By mint i mean they are brand new condition, not one mark on them, still have the little white dot on them so havent been resprayed, beautiful gtr rims. I polished em up, put em in garbage bags, and they havent been out since. (I like gtr rims) That was a bargain though, and i wouldnt suspect to find that sort of thing again. Ive previously bought rims without tyres with very minor gutter rash on two of them for $500.

I dunno about the RB30 stuff, but id be pulling the mechanism out of the RB30 box and comparing the diameter and number of teeth on the nylon speedo gear with the R32 one. Use the search function on this forum, go the tutorial section and type in r32 speedo sender and a tutorial from Cubes should come up. Heaps of info on swapping the r32 gear to a nissan navara gear for proper speedo function. It may be possible to swap the auto r32 gear to the VL sender unit. Shaun.

Yeah, i found the durability of the NXT gen stuff to be a problem. It was really smooth after polishing, but i even noticed a difference (less smooth) after one wash. So i went back to the Meguiars Gold Class polish and shampoo. I think its important to use the same shampoo and polish for lasting durability. I dont really understand why Meguiars has so many sub brands of polish. NXT, Gold Class, Wet Look, Yellow Carnuba, Cleaner wax etc. I wish i knew what the pros and cons of each was. Also, ive had problems with the products 'going off' over an extended period of time. I must have 30 different Meguiars products in may garage, and ive gone to use an old Cleaner wax and could hardly remove it from my car after application. The quick clay is awesome for bonded contaminants and over spray. Rant over.

Gday, just a quick question for those in the know. Ive got an R23 gtst, and i was wondering how much it might cost for a spraypainter to paint my car (in the factory white colour) if i prepare the car for painting. Ive never done this before, but ill do the research before i take the car off the road; i just want to do all the simple (if it IS simple) prep work like cutting back, removal of door trims and factory body kit etc. Ill remove the engine again, as i really want to concentrate on this area. Then ill tow the car to someone who will hopefully only have to finnish off ding repair and start the painting process. So im after a ballpark figure for materials and labour to finnish off what i might be able to do. Oh, ill have the windows removed too. If it matters, the current paint is in good condition, there are just a few scratches, dings, and dodgy overspray repair jobs, so im assuming ill just have to rough the surface up as prep for the new paint. I dont want a dodgy job, it has to be top notch as i am a picky bastard. Thanks for any insight, Shaun.

Hey mate, as per forum rules, you've gotta post a price, otherwise the thread will be closed.
