Strength Of V35 6 Speed Manual Gearbox
Stephen Thorpe replied to R33_Dude's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Strong... but you busted it... can you please explain a bit further? What went wrong and how do you imagine that happened? Was a new one costly? -

You used to just paste a link from the full size image from where the picture exists. Like a Flickr or Photobucket account. Like this... -
Why do you need a Compass? Just look at the sun... or a Roadmap... or Sat Nav if you use one. I know... I know we have one installed so we want it to work.

Thinking Of Buying This
Stephen Thorpe replied to tadrosone's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
As for Brakes squeaking because of the ceramic material, I doubt that the V35 had that option so that would be a Salesperson without a clue, lying or just plain wrong! Unless you buy a top of the line Porsche or similar, you will not get Ceramic Brakes. Squeaking Brakes can be minor and easily fixed, scored or bent discs with cracks can not without a bit of cash thrown at it. Calipers that have worn or stuck seals are also a bit painful. I think you may need to continue the research on the car itself and be confident with both your knowledge and your manual driving skills. Then you will see when a Salesperson is full of it. -
Thinking Of Buying This
Stephen Thorpe replied to tadrosone's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
My only comment would be that if the dealer can not add more than 2 photo's and very little writing on the Website then he really hasn't got a clue. Would of thought he could have supplied a bit more detail... Other than that... all the advice has been good, all stuff that all cars should be checked for. Additionally, listen to V35_Paul and shop around, get the feel for a few, drive them all and do not buy the first you see. -

The V Waiting For The Bride
Stephen Thorpe replied to turbosuk's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
female passengers will do that to you... never tell you the full story on where they are going! Or so I heard anyway. Good work, how did she get in the back? -

Stephen Thorpe replied to Pete82's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
2 votes for Michelin, one from Australia and one from somewhere that it rains a lot... ...and yes I know that there have been lots of floods in Oz recently! -

Tight squeeze for a bride... 5 hrs for a detail but the inner guard still looks a bit dusty... -

Get the Michelin's they will be really good in the wet and supurb in the Dry. Reasonable life too. I have had many sets of Michelins on my R33 GTS-T and they stick really well, wet grip was fantastic and life was ok unless you drove it like you stole it. Also got a Forester Turbo 03 model that currently runs a set of Michelin XM1 and they have been exceptional, probably last about 45ks or so of spirited driving... I think the MXV series are the newer versions but you might want to check. $200 for a 17" is a great price as the Forester is a 16" and I think we paid a bit more than that. Buy the best Michelin you can afford or a Pirelli if you are looking for slightly better Wet grip compared to the Dry, the opposite of a Michelin. -
Retro Fit Flat Flexi Wiper Blades
Stephen Thorpe replied to cookie--monster's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Did you buy new arms with the wiper assembly, or just new wiper assemblies? Either way it is pretty simple, but let us know. -
That is the Airflow meter, not sure what you mean a CRC AFM, but this one looks standard. In my opinion you can not open the AFM box itself, so do not try... There are some people that can repair if there is a problem but it is filled with hard resin and needs to be looked at by a professional. I believe it can be re-built but not by you if you don't know how. They either work or they don't, sometimes they will cause a rough idle and hesitation but they will normally either stop the car or not. As for cleaning the AFM, only do this when the engine is cold, (at least an hour after turning off) with the Ignition Key off. Pull the airbox cover off like you have. Remove the following; 2 bolts holding the lower half of box at front of car 1 bolt on the aft outside 1 on the aft inside. Hose Clamp that holds Hose to the AFM Squeeze Tab on Electrical Plug, Push in and then pull terminal up to disconnect AFM from Car Loom. Then lift the box gently off it's mounts and remove it from Car. Turn box over and spray Electrical Contact Cleaner down the AFM (probe hanging in the inlet tube) and into the gauze that opens into the Airbox. Use the spray in the reverse direction of Airflow and do not touch the Probe, just use the spray and make sure you get a non residue drying type of cleaner. Spray both sides of Electrical connection, the 3 pins need to look really clean. Let it dry for a minute, then re-assemble in reverse... making sure you hear a click on the Electrical re-connection. Should run a bit smoother now, especially if you have an oiled Air Filter element installed in Airbox.

2010 Nissan Altima Se-r - Leaked Images
Stephen Thorpe replied to FlyingEL's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I am going to say that I really like the look and overall the package has some really nice features. Not put off by those tailights and I think they work quite well... takes a minute or 2 to see it but it flows and seems to reduce the size of the rear somehow. Think that seeing one in the flesh is probable more important though. As for fwd, ummm.... NO, not for me I am afraid. Stuff a R35 package under it then it would be nice... -

Yes, not advertised and I am sure that there is something a bit underhanded about it. Not sure if the system has been upgraded in regards to Mother Boards or Processing, except to say that a Hard Drive size change has occurred. This is something that a User can change anyway... -

R u serious? Where did you see that? -
Good work and Rav4, you poor thing. As for posting here, this is a V35 thread not an R33, follow the link below. Hello from a hot place... anyway unfortunately you have stumbled onto the V35 thread and this is not the right place to discuss an R32 with a RB25DET. I am sure if you do a search via the link posted below, you will find lots of help with the RB25DET, under the Modifications and Maintenance heading would be a good start. Into Hospital For Surgery Wednesday...
Stephen Thorpe replied to superspit's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I hope all is going well and that you recover well. Do as your told and behave for the doctors and nurses and I am sure you will be fine, from someone who knows a nurse and has had a fair bit of hospital stay in his life. As for the Airshow, you go to them all? Does that mean you are a local? I know someone who is going to see the Airshow... hopefully, so I wll see what I can do. -
Question For Skyline V35 Track Owners
Stephen Thorpe replied to rs73's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Do you mean tyre size in order to see the size of the spacesaver itself? The problem is the Wheel to Brembo Caliper clearance, correct? -
Can you please provide more explanation on the above statement?
-
At least you were trying... As for Flex pipes, most muffler places would be able to fit them, different sizes are available.
