  1. A lot? No, you must be joking.
  2. Can I suggest you spend a few days going through the many pages of posts in this V-Series forum... there is a lot of information hidden in here?
  3. Thanks for the info, my parts guy showed me the V35 on FAST the other day, 2.5, 3.0 and 3.5, so i should be right. Fairly big dealer so I would imagine if you have V36, he could get it too. Well that's the hope. So are you going to share your information about cheapies, like you normally do...? Or would that make them less cheap...
  4. Will keep it in mind and thanks again. Need a car first...
  5. What is SWC? Sorry, having blonde moment.
  6. Thanks Chris, good answers that are so appreciated. Although, just to clarify, can you please answer a couple more... Can you can add a DVD Player to the Standard Screen, with that player having inputs for Playstation & Rear View Camera's etc? What unit do you recommend and what are the costs roughly? What is it worth roughly to get the TV Working well, I presume the work required is similar to getting the right frequencies for the Radio? Is the Bose a good unit if you compare it with a High end head unit with DAB FM, DVD, MP3, Time Correction and all the bells and whistles? I usually use an ALPINE fairly high up in the range, not the top couple and multiple thousands but just below. The screens are so cheap now too and I would guess that after 4 or 5 years the BOSE unit would be a bit tired and lacking in features, that an upgrade of speakers and amps would bring a big improvement. In regards to 'Dash' Panels etc, what are you up for to replace the Bose unit, if your not happy with it? Two Screens would look pretty cool... Would love to get an expert to work on it, do you have a website where I can check your work out and you list of options? Do you travel? Thanks again and I am getting a little excited now and I haven't even driven one...
  7. Do an Ocean Road run and then I will come in my tired but sweet R33... Then I get to see a V35 that is owned by someone who can tell me all about it.
  8. The same car will only get cheaper, it gets older, give or take the exchange rate and yes I believe the 5 year thing will make some changes too.
  9. On a R33 GTS-T, it is Wire 33 on ECU from memory and no I never dis it, although you can even put in a remote switch so it can be on or off. Although the Hicas light apparently fired up if you had it disconnected. If someone told me what wire to cut, I would be in for that, if it was needed... As Br3ndan said, just re-join it. Surely unless you introduce a voltage spike it can not do too much. Bit cheaper than $445 or even $150.
  10. Yes I think you are right, but this card will have the maps on them, just not sure what format that they are in. To compare with my Mobile Phone GPS Software (Sorry if that is a bit crude) that I downloaded off the net, I think that the program that runs the maps will need to be able to read it. So if it is a Nissan Aust part, then the format may be close, even if it is just a Seimans unit. Either way there is no other unit installed in an Australian Nissan and I don't think we will find another option. As a guess, perhaps Nissan has a commercial agreement with Siemans and globally all maps are in this fomat. Without finding the files and taking a look at them in comparision with the Japan maps we will never now. Just a long shot... but one that I will try to investigate.
  11. Thanks Chris, I will look up Iron Chef Imports, I hope he doesn't have an SBS show... I understand the broker thing, just need to see the legalities of being supplied a bucket that someone has missed decent damage on it. Such as jumping a kerb or a bent chassis rail or something. A cut and shut is also quite hard to find in my opinion... I have seen one and bloody hell it was good job (on a R33). The owner didn't even now, but both me and my Mechanic picked it up. I tried to get FAST a while back but my Parts guy, couldn't quite bring himself to help and I think he may have struggled to work out how anyway. Yes, it is a great thing, but I thought that it was only for R32, 33 and 34's. Is it also for V35's?
  12. This might seem a bit strange to ask, especially since all the stuff I have read just today but can someone please confirm that the Stereo is below and in front of the Screen and this Screen drives out of the hole at the top of the Centre console. The Screen is usually hidden from view. Is this on all models or just some... does the Screen pop up and do all Sedans and Coupes have it, or just the Premiums, or the one's with TV/DVD option? If it is a TV/DVD option I presume that this also means that you get a Trip computer as well as a TV, that only works in The land of the long white cloud. Isn't a Double Din head unit standard across the range and the Bose (Double Din too) an option on all models? How do you know if the wiring and (Japanese) hardware for TV is fitted to your car, where do you look? Getting kinda excited with all this research and all of you guys appear to have a great car, with so many things to think about before I go looking and driving. I hope I like them to drive... Cheers all
  13. When you see someone in their late 20's or early 30's owning a R32, 33 or 34 Turbo they probably bought it because it was good and was something different. There were only a few around and they paid good money to get into one. The choices a few years ago were WRX's, SS Boringdores, XR8 Barges or a GTS-T of some descriptions. Sometimes people could afford a GTR. Then the market fell out the bottom for those sorts of Grey Imports, like any older car... the Soarer went first, then the Skyline and then the Supra followed. So, the Skyline owner does a few mods to maintain a sense of difference and that feeling of it being a bit special, all the time driving the wheels off it and having some fun. Then they notice that there is hundreds of them, some being driven by someone who looks like he is still in High School and on P-Plates. All types and all sorts are everywhere and the original feeling is lost. Must meen they were good but it dulls the senses and you hunger for something a bit more. That is where the V35 comes in, only a few years old and a whole lot of car, but no Turbo... You are now older and that kick in the pants may not be that important anymore. I suppose if you still need a power hit you might be able to justify paying another 25% more for a R34 GTR. Which is now at least 7 years old but one hell of a car. This is me... and now I need to find the right car... a M35 might even suit the dog too... unfortunately, even they are not available in a similar age as a V35. Wish me luck! Now, what to go and see, a Dealer or a Broker...
  14. Do we all agree now? Dual Zone Air con and Bose Stereo is not an option on Standard Car, but it is always on a Premium. Is that correct? Brembo's, half leather, 18's and TV/DVD screen are options on both...
  15. What is CARWINGS version and what other models? Either way, if I buy a V35, I would like a TV/DVD/INPUT and GPS (if available) built in like factory, having car 'instruments' is important too. How much is that worth to be done Chris? Worst case scenario?
  16. I have it confirmed, there is no Australian Nissan with Standard (Factory) GPS. So no Nissan maps, the unit's use an add on box/wiring GPS that is either dealer fitted (option) or is installed at the dock, in the Nissan holding yard when 'imported' for an Aussie owner. Nothing is installed at the Factory... As stated the unit uses Siemans software via a memory card of which there is a chance I can get to see one soon. Presumeably, it can be replicated. Incidentially it is a $330 spare part as an upgrade and it is installed in the car behind the glovebox of a Murano and Patrol. It stays with the car in order to work and is not downloaded via a disc. Does this help?
  17. Me too, perhaps, kinda want a R34 GTR, but price and age seems a bit silly. Just a query WazR32GTSt, how did you know that 350GT-ATE had a sedan from his post? Learning heaps and I have only been on for a while recently... Need to learn abit about the broker process too. So if anyone would like to point me in a direction to how it all works, please feel free!
  18. From what I understand, no up to 2004 only and then some of them maybe not.
  19. I have just been told that the Nav system Nissan uses is 'Siemans' and the data comes on a memory card, might have it mixed up and I am on the case to understand the process. I suppose the files may be the required format...
  20. Thanks Andy, much appreciated... As for the Disc of Nissan Aussie Maps, you are still looking aren't you? It needs to be a DVD too doesn't it? Do you know why it is in that format only as I would imagine if the units to be 'translated' are the DVD types then the unit should also read the necessary files off a CD too... I have made a few enquiries myself to see if I can get my hands on one. Will keep you posted if successful.
  21. Are you saying without a set of decent swaybars, there is a lot of body roll and comfort is the order of the day over sharp handling?
  22. Hey all, looks like some good work has been done and it is amazing that before i potentially buy a V35 a English conversion may be available. Great work all and good to see that everyone is sharing. Just for the record I am pretty sure a mate of mine has access to a Consult 3... What year and type of V35 will I need for this Translation disc to work, DVD Rom comes in what models? Haven't got a new car yet but one of these Coupes is on the list and Iwould be up for this too! Just a query, someone mentioned a M35, what is that exactly or is it a typo? Cheers all and I might be joining you soon. Incidentially, are you all happy with your rides and how do they compare with earlier more performance based Skylines?
  23. They were working a week ago, but a lot of photo's are now missing. Didn't they change servers at SAU recently...
