Twin Turbo Or Supercharge?
Stephen Thorpe replied to 350GT350's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Sorry, I don't know anyone as such, what do I need to know? I have a mate who eats, sleeps and breathes Nissan that might help. He has outstanding ability and he is the 'business' however if you need a rebuild, I haven't seen him do one for a while. Although if you are only looking for fault finding and servicing/repair he is the man. He has done a fair few VQ35's too and is good with research... -
Twin Turbo Or Supercharge?
Stephen Thorpe replied to 350GT350's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Really looking forward to reading more about the plan to TT charge the V35... Loved where this post was going as you and Sydneykid appear to be right around the same spot as me, except i don't have the car yet. Do I buy a V35 or a R34 GTR which is considerably older? There a benefits and minuses to both but adding turbo charging to the later model, may well be what I should go fo. A bit cheaper too in the long run. Looking forward to hearing the outcome. Just for clarity, I presume the standard VQ35 is fairly high compression, will it handle 7psi without touching the internals? How strong is it? Cheers -
Thanks BB for all the pics, yes I can tell from the pics, how neat it is... Looks like a couple of marks on the rim unfortunately, which is a shame. Still good though... It is a 99 model, correct? As for being cheap, as I have just started to look I will take GTS4WD's word for it... As for the 2 weeks, I doubt I would even get close to that timeframe, so thanks for your help and good luck with the sale.

It is very nice, from what I can see! Are you in a hurry to sell? I am just starting to look and I need to get a feel for the market before I step into a new car. Additionally, I am based in Victoria. How many K's have you done in it and when did it land in Oz? Can you please show pictures of the cloudy headlights and front lip if this is the only damage? If you don't want to post, perhaps you can e-mail me the pics.

Interesting stuff, my understanding of a trade plate is that they are fairly relaxed in their use and can be used easily. Not sure how the import rules line up with that, but I can not imagine that a police officer would now the rules either. Also, how is the hoon law part of P Plate restrictions? If a P Plate driver is in one, perhaps he has restrictions removed for some legal reasons and unless he is laying rubber or making unnecessary noise what is the issue?

So what does transport, compliance add to it? Going to start to look for one soon... Need to know the Aussie value and I am very dubias about buying from a Japan aution direct, would prefer to see a car first. Unless there is a good way of confirming the quality.

R35 Gtr At The Drag Strip In Perth "first Run Was A 11.6"
Stephen Thorpe replied to a topic in R35 GTR
Sorry everyone, but my understanding of time is as follows .1 1 Tenth of a second .01 1 Hundreth of a Second .001 1 Thousandth of a Second Or put another way. .001 nana (one thousandth of something) or one nano second .000,001 pico (one ten-thousandth of something) .000,000,001 mlil (one millionth of something) or one millisecond So, .000,000,001 1 Millisecond Is not very bloody much in other words. A little confused about some of the times posted here... -

Stephen Thorpe replied to OR34LY's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
Go to www.photobucket.com, sign up (free) and upload pictures after picking what size you want 800 pixels wide is normally ok for most forums. Then copy the img. link at the bottom of each picture and paste this link in a post!! -
Whilst we are at it, what is the approximate current price for a 34 GTR? The NUR version adds what? Is there any other versions available, as I have always been a little confused to the 33 versions...

Stephen Thorpe replied to Stephen Thorpe's topic in R35 GTR
Thanks, so I need to find a copy via kinokuniya, is that a website as such... Can you advise a little more detail, do I search here or on the net? Is it the Full lap in good quality? Not that I care about purchasing but surely it is available elsewhere? -

Cheers, will look again, but initially I didn't have much luck -
Hey everyone, it has been too long, way to long... Sorry if there are some of you that have missed me, or can even remmber me. Anyway, is there anyone out there with a decent copy, or knows where we can download our own copy of the New GTR around the Nurburgring Nordschleife, when it did the 7.38 time? Looking for a copy of it to keep and all I can find is a youtube (or similar) version. Short of capturing it with something like hidownload the versions are all crap quality and I am not to bothered in even trying. Cheers, if anyone can help I would be very appreciative. Stephen

Fuel Guage Reads Less Than Zero!
Stephen Thorpe replied to Stephen Thorpe's topic in General Maintenance
Please guys, does anyone know anything that may help? I have earthed Grey with Red trace wire out and guage deflects towards full on instrument panel! I have sprayed all wires with contact cleaner, outside the tank but still nothing! I need to use some fuel before I re-open tank and check inside connections, I am hoping I didn't seat the connection on the underside of cap and it has fallen off! Will a bad connection (no earth or power) to guage cause guage to default to completely empty? Stephen -
Don't worry about Platinum or Iridium plugs, too bloody expensive! No more go, just last longer. These are your choices! NGK Std Plug BKR6E $3ea Twin Electrode (New) BKR6EK $6ea Iridium BKR6EIX $16ea Platinum PFR6G $16ea Most are available like above with a standard gap of approx 0.8mm. This is the norm for a little more boost! You can go down to 0.6mm though. If you add -11 to the end they are gapped at 1.1mm. Too much gap in light tune mods. Heat ranges available are 5, 6 or 7 from memory, not sure why I have got mostly 6. Can't remember why, front of NGK book tells you what a lower number means! Prices are from the best/cheapest shop on my side of Geelong! Platinum/Iridium plugs may be a little dearer now! Stephen

Hi guys, I have an issue with a Fuel Guage in my R33 GTS-T that reads ZERO (or less than). I have just changed my fuel pump and didn't touch the sender at all, but I must of damaged the pressure hose on re-installation and it eventually leaked like a fire hose above the white fuel tank plug. This took quite a few kays to start leaking, so therefore a lot of fuel was around the electrical wiring when I got back to the top of the tank. Anyway, I fixed the hose real easy (by cutting the damage of the end) but now the guage reads empty. The only thing that I can think of is that the residual fuel which accumulated in the depression where the wiring plugs connect may have caused a short. As I am led to believe that there isn't a fuse attached to the fuel sender and the guage, is there anyway to rectify this issue? What have I blown considering the guage is stuck at the completely empty position with either a half or a full tank of fuel? Any help would be very appreciative. Regards Stephen

Hi guys, along similiar lines to this post I have an issue with a Fuel Guage in my R33 GTS-T that reads ZERO (or less than). I have just changed my fuel pump and didn't touch the sender at all, but I must of damaged the pressure hose on re-installation and it eventually leaked like a sieve above the white fuel tank plug.
