  3. Had similar problem and the wires had come loose from the dimmer switch where it joins the dash cluster. You probably have to pull out the cluster to see the wires.

  7. Just got one fitted on monday to a series 1 gts-t. Used GTR series 1. Was on a series 2 gts-t before that. Depends what parts you get with the wheel. Might have to change some of the inside sensor bits over. Pretty straight forward.
  8. Pretty sure this was an option on early r33 gts-t. I've seen this on a couple of cars. The switch is located down near the gear shift sorround. Where those little coin slot things are. The cops can fine you for using them when its not foggy or raining about $90 i think.
  9. I'm using a gates belt as well makes similar noise. Have heard whining noise on other skylines using a gates belt as well.

    EVC EPA'ed

    Getting damn epa notice. Pulled over again 7:50am!! cruising down Hume Highway just near Wodonga going to work. Look up cop sitting on the median strip turning other direction. Look up again as i am turning off onto nice quiet backroad to find cop car positioned in usual liner hunting pose right up my arse. :bs!: Pull into back road and straight over, procedes with usual rbt then comments that my car is too low (HKS fronts and temporary lowered nismo rears) and how his rbt straw is exactly 100mm yeah yeah. I reach in the glove box and show roadworthy completeted only this Monday. Then makes open bonnet(first time in 2years of owning R33's), I get out he then has a quick glance inside. Comes over telling me he knows what he is looking whilst leaning one hand on very illegal bov after awhile says "what this" pointing to evc module (should have hidden that damn it). Keeps looking while stoking the pod filter. "you can close the bonnet now". "Can you drive the car over there" pointing to middle of the road. (f#@k me getting shitty now). Then MrPlod trys to climb underneath car with a straw after some dicking around comes up empty. "Open the bonnet" what the. Yes open it again. Has another look asking me wot boost i'am running? "standard the unit is not tuned in to run any thing else". Spends another 5 min looking. Said nothing about bov, safc, boost guage, and would have not have chance of spotting a HKS2535. Tells me boost controller is not epa blah blah blah was just thinking of the time and $$$ to go back to standard. Is it possible for Vic cops to defect NSW reg car or send them for EPA??? i suspect with epa it might be.

  14. Saw my old turbo apart the other day had a plastic wheel this was on '95 model. Is there any size difference between the nylon wheel on r33 and r34?

  16. you finished now??? well i look at it like this you could buy this system $3000.00 fit microtec ecu ( no need for afmeters) direct plug in unit with controller for $1300.00 run only 7psi boost pressure ( lets say 250kw@wheels ) lets forget the 300kw@wheels for the moment as we seem to all think that anyone who purchases the system would have to rebuild there engine ( only if you plan to run high boost pressure ) sure but his can be done at a later stage as finaces become available ( not all of us have 10k to spend in 1 hit on a 2.6 setup ) at this point i would have spent $5000.00 at worst i could always add engine rebuild - fuel pump- injectors- ect as your finaces would permit at a later stage ,the fact is any engine that produces 300kw@wheels will need alot of money injected into it!!!! regardless 2.5 2.6 , thats if you own a gtst , its not fun being the little brother of godzilla, we try to be like them at yet we get lectures even if we dream , if i had the money i would look long and hard, but i dont the point for any turbo system able to produce even 250kw@ for a gtst fully rebuilt with manifolds , dump pipes , braided oil lines silicon hose ect is still damn cheap for 3k sorry for dreaming!!!!!!!!!!
  17. so you would not need injectors ??? fuel pump???? pfc ???? ebc ????? or even dyno tune the rb26 to reach the same power level lol this would bump your rb26 conversion cost up a little bit , if you are going to compare apples to oranges why bother
  18. well lets way up the prospects to get 300kw@wheels in a standard 2.6 i would expect that you would have to replace the turbos, ecu, at least then replace wiring loom? labour to install engine?? then you have to add the cost of the engine itself, keeping that in mind you have still standard internals!!! or you could rebuild your rb25 to suit the twin turbo setup , install an apexi , and go sick!! but guys dont get me wrong either we all know a gtr 2.6 would be the best option but also the most expensive, from what i see you dont have to run full boost 300kw@wheels anyway . after any car running this sort of power figures would need to be modified- but the guy claims with correct tunning and engine combo this etup would out preform a standard 2.6tt package and plans to market it as GODZILLA KILLA.only time will tell hey!!
  19. I Have Had The Same Problem, Turbo Always Made A Whistle Noise Under Boost But It Got Louder, After Inspection Found That 1 Of The Blades On The Exhaust Wheel Was Missing!!!! The Noise Is The Turbo Blades Touching The Housing, I Would Replace The Turbo Before It Self Destucts
  20. hmmm i dont see how the 2 setups can be compared??? first the cost factor of transplanting an rb26 ??? can the standard gtr engine and turbos put out 300kw@wheels?? its obvious which of the two are a better engine thats not the question here . it all comes down to what you can afford??? i know that i dont have the sort of money required to fit rb26 ( although it would be nice ) some of us are left to modify our rb25s . ok guys with your gtr engines good luck to you dont try and burst our bubble here , anyway it would be interesting to compare this system fitted to rb25 ( stock engine ) againts a stock gtr call me crazy but isnt what all this is about anyway i have emailed the guy and he lives close to where i work so i plan to get some more info for you guys cheers
