  1. Could cause the car to run a little rich, i remember mine was playing games for a while which turned out to be a boost leak. if its still leaking put a bigger screw in it.
  2. ive had reground cams in a few different cars with no problems. Not long ago tho i was reading a zoom article which pretty much said your a cod if you stick regrinds in your engine. The particular article was focusing on an rb26 from memory. The idea was stick to stock if you dont have the money or incliation to buy billet. im not so sure, crank regrinds are pretty common, i assume its a similar process. Im interested to see what someone in the know says. The other option would be porting, cheaper than cams and can get good power gains. tim
  3. how did you treat it tho? i reckon i could smash a twin plate in 2 months if i thrashed the tits off it
  4. just thought id mention These items are bloody hard to source locally and abroad. So thats a good price
  5. get your allen key and hose at any auto one, repco, supercheapauto store around australia.
  6. Hi Im in the process of trying to order a sump and oil pickup from nissan, for a 200zr with rb20det. Unfortunately for me they dont know what the hell a 200zr is. They seem to think its a 4 door sedan. Long story short, is there anyone out there who owns a 200zr who can provide me with their full chassis code, or any other numbers that can help nissan identify the car. It has to have come out with an rb20det. As the parts are for a conversion i dont myself have a 200zr, so need your help. cheers, Tim
  7. not 100% sure, but it looks like the same kit theyre offering in one of the 'trader' sections of the for sale forum, on this site. Looks like pretty good value for money to me. I was thinking of getting one but dont have a lazy 500 laying around.
  8. ive just discovered the custom sump and pickup in my 280zx is bodgy crap. So, i desperately need a 200zr sump and oil pickup. Its for an rb20det. cheers tim
  9. ok spare boss looks to have a brass plug in it which should come out with a few love taps, so just need to remove dipstick tube
  10. Im in the process of playing around with my spare rb20 to make it fit the zed. One thing that needs to be done is the dipstick assembly(the tube that goes into the block) needs to be relocated to the rear of the block. My question is how do i get the tube out of the block? Also, There is a spare boss at the rear of the engine for the dipstick tube to go, does it require drilling or is it like a welsh plug? cheers Tim
  11. was that quote from horsesinabox? how much power are you looking at? i want one that will hold and last with 220rwkw
  12. emailed horsepowerinabox, they offer that clutch Cubes has pictured for $750 delivered. "Xtreme DCB unit in Xtra Heavy duty 50% over OEM" Pretty sure the one for $550 offers 100% over OEM.
  13. what did that set you back mate, looks exactly like what im after
  14. Lanfoh......its an rb20 box I've been looking at the cushioned ceramic from extreme, although looks like theyre not a puck design plate like the button? "The cushioned ceramic is one disc option and is not a puck design like the ceramic button units. The next step from a cushioned disc is a twin." Plus they are an extra 100 bucks, 650 delivered and every dollar counts for me at the moment. If the ceramic button isnt going to destroy my gbox it seems like a cheap option
  15. im not worried about the feel, ill drive anything. More worried about my poor old gearbox. Its reconditioned but ill really crack the shits if i shatter it with an over the top clutch. Lanfoh, what 6 puck are you looking at?
  16. Does anyone have any experience with the Xtreme H/D ceramic button clutches? http://www.horsepowerinabox.com./HPIAB2/ca...ategory17_1.htm Theyre nice and cheap, says theyre good for 300 at the wheels. Are they a bit over the top for say, 220kw at the wheels? cheers, Tim
  17. I had an rb25 turbs on my 280 and liked it. If your not looking to spend much i think the rb25 turbo is a good choice. What are you doing about fuelling? Tim
  18. Settle down Shaun i spoke to you yesterday, all is good mate. Even if it was a red top it is still a bargain at the price i paid for it. just looking for some input from other people that may know. Any way i pulled the manifold off last night and as Shaun said, no butterflies, just an element running the length of the spacer. I have pics.....though i have no idea how to get them in here.
  19. will get pics tonight. Ive got a feeling its a silvertop as everything is exactly the same as my other silvertop except for the spacer and the oil pressure sender. The spacer doesnt look like the butterfly arrangement ive seen photos of, so perhaps its an aftermarket thing? ill pull the manifold tonight, should clear things up, thanks for your replys
  20. anyone? Are there any numbers or stamps on the block/head that show the difference between a r32 or r31 rb20?
  21. Was advertised as an rb20det from 1993 r32
  22. That may explain why the oil pressure sender is different that on the silvertop. Does anyone know if all silvertops had the same ones?
  23. well well well looks like ive been done with a red top. I did a quick compare with the inlet manifold of my r32 rb20, everything else looks the same? Altho the rockers are polished they look the same as the 32 rb20. injectors look the same too. Are there any other features which i can use to tell whether its a red top or not?? not real happy........Tim
  24. Took delivery of the new rb20 the other day. After having a good look at it i noticed something unusual. I say unusual because it looks totally unecessary and isnt on my other rb20 Im talking about a spacer in between the inlet runners and the head. Its about 15mm thick and has what looks to be an aftermarket plug wired into it at the rear of the engine. What the hell is it, im going to get rid of it but would like to know what it is. Tim
