  1. ive done searches on manuals for rb20det more times than i care to remember. pretty much every other rb motor but the 20det Cameron, that would be good, much appreciated
  2. hi cameron im right for the head stud torque settings. But thats all. id love any other head related torque specs if you know them?!
  3. afternoon all im planning on getting the head of my rb20det recond and will be removing/installing it myself. RB engines are new to me so i was wondering if ppl might have some tips or things to look out for when undergoing such a procedure. Ive priced a VRS kit from nissan which was about 250. Components include head gasket rockers gaskets manifold gaskets cam seals valve stem seals, i think that was all. are there any other little gaskets i will need for the job that arent included in this kit? Also, would i be stupid to re-use the old head studs? or wont it be a drama. i dont have a manual so ill be taking it as it comes, so if youve got any tips for me, please fell free to share! cheers, Tim
  4. i did a search whcih turned up nought At the moment it wont hold 12psi. But when i put this new turbs etc on i will be running maybe max a tad over 1bar

  6. Can anyone tell me how much pressure ie psi the stock BOV can handle before it starts to leak, on an rb20. I ask because mine is leaking and i dont want to replace it with something thats just going to leak again. cheers

  9. Im chasing an HKS adjustable wastegate actuator for an r34 gt-t turbo. I think r33 would use the same not sure. if you can help me out pm me or call me on 0427281030 after 5:00pm cheers

  11. take of the hose that goes from radiator to thermostat housing. undo three bolts. pull thermostat out. while its out might as well test it and flush the whole shit show. an rb30 thermostat gasket will fit.

  13. If you end up handing it over to a workshop, make sure you give it to someone who knows what theyre doing. Ive recently had the 5sp on my rb20det reconditioned and it still crunches I took it back and complained. They picked it up, took it away. Didnt here from them for a week. Got the car back and was told i owed them 300(what it cost them) for a new set of gears! so i showed them my warranty and told em to stick it. Stupid cods, the problem isnt fixed. replacing the gears is the last thing youd think would be wrong with it. I think its the thrust bearing so ill be doing it myself when i can. seems like i have to travel up the cost to QLD to get any sort of respectable work done
  14. like title says need HKS adjustable wastegate actuator-good condition to suit R34GT-T turbo(internal) set of 6 gtr injectors and matching resistor pack if possible-good condition cheers
  15. Repaint it. Get in there with a rats tail file or dremel if you have one and clean up the rough edges. Sand it, primer it then paint it. You could then buy a large rubber grommit which slots over the edges of the hole, will stop the cooler pipe from rubbing on the hole and looks neat. depends how noticable it is, you could use the an old door or boot rubber seal. Cut the soft weather strip off and use the flexible plastic coated metal stripping. Cut it to size and slip it on. Will do the same job as the grommit but will have a join mark good luck

  18. .....if an r34 turbo has the same fittings as an r33 turbo. water, oil lines etc. To clarify, I have an rb20 with an r33 turbo, if i was to replace that turbo with an r34 unit, will all the existing fittings match? or will it be nessecary to make new fittings again. cheers
  19. Take it to another shop and get some advice on what the marks are. Someone in the trade would be able to diagnose that soon as look at it. The tiger pattern one looks like bodgy buff work, cloudy paint can be a result of painting in the wrong conditions, whens it raining for example. Far as what you can do try an do it legally and sensibly if you can, i know id find it hard. recently in my area i know of a spray painter who was hospitalised for doing a bodgy job!

Hi everyone im after some advice on engine management for my rb20 I am thinking of going for a powerfc and if one presents itself int he near future for a good price ill take it, but it may take a while. As result im looking at other options. I can go full programmable aftermarket such as wolf, powerfc etc but i am not looking for huge figures so perhaps its money i could spend elsewhere. Im only really looking in the regions of 200rwkw. I currently have a Blitz access which im a bit sketchy about as i can find pretty much NO information on them. Its currently running ok with stock injectors, GTR pump, malpassi regulator and rb25 turbs. I want to run bigger inectors as im in need of new injectors anyway, although i dont belive the blitz can cator for these. would it be possible to run the blitz with an S-AFC to accomodate for bigger injectors? The other option would be to get a stock ecu rewritten. sorry for the large post hope you can wade through it ok Ultimately i would love to be able to work with the blitz if its possible so im hoping there is an option there cheers............Tim
