Just got myself a few defect notice's on my car and was wondering about one of them. I was told that the engine (RB25DET) is not legal in my car (180sx) which I'm pretty sure it is?? The cop told me that I need to get the modification papers which go along with my mod plate to prove this. Also that the car needed to be under the original tare weight??? Can anyone help me out here?

Yeh if this resonator doesn't do the job then that's what I will be doing. I wanted to go twin 3" pipes from the beginning but it didn't end up happening. Will see how I go anyway. Anyone know some sites that sell what I'm after??? Or sponsers??

I'm taking tommorow off so I can go and have a look at a few like the ones you are taking about Cubes. Are their any sites/sponsers that you know that sell them?? Also the muffler I've bought and got put on is pretty much brand new.

Ok today while I was at work my dad stopped in to right price to have a look at the resontor they were talking about. Turns out it was only 2 1/4" and it was more of a muffler than an resonator.. It was not straight through at all, just like a normal muffler. The other one they showed him was an oval shaped muffler which was fairly large which had a small pipe going through the middle of a 3" pipe with straight pipe spirraling around it if you undertstand what I'm saying?? Anybody have any experience with something like this??

Thanks for all the replies, I've decided on going ahead with the more expensive resonator for now and see how that goes. The car right now is WAY too loud.. If it takes away too much power then I will have to sort something else out, most likely another muffler.

I've recently put a new muffer on my exhaust as the old one was stuffed which is what I thought was making the car so loud.. It has taken some of the bark away but the car is still very loud and "droney".. The exhaust is 3" all the way through with a cat converter and a 5" cannon. I've called up Right Price and they told me they could fit a resonator which might quieten it down a little, or they could fit a bit dearer one which will rob the car of some power. My question is, what sort of power loss should I be expecting>????

I left it with the tuner for a day and he has fixed the problem. He told me how but I didn't really undetstand but I'm happy anyway The car made 416HP@17Psi and is holding that fine:) Thanks for everyones help

I haven't got any pictures of my setup but these are pretty much the same. GT35/40 .82 rear,3" exhaust all the way through, Tial 44mm wastegate What do you think?

mm this is sounding like it can be a VERY bad thing. I'll have a talk to the tuner tommorow and tell him what you have told me and go from there. Will let you know how I go. Cheers

I was told pretty much the same thing from the guy I bought the manifold off. But by unplugging the gate signal, do you mean just taking the wastegate completely off?

Any ideas?

I've recently installed a 6Boost manifold/tial 44mm gate/gt35/40 on my RB25 with all the bolt on mods. The car is now at the tuners and he is having troubles controlling boost. He has said that the boost is peaking at the top of the rev range whereas is should be at around 4500Rpm onwards.. He has told me that the cause of this is where the wastegate is joined to the manifold, that it is not getting equal flow or pressure or something like that.. Has anyone heard of something like this and what is needed to fix it???

Lol I just bought one yesterday for a bit more than that... Different people have been telling me what HP these are rated at, do you know what they can handle??

As far as I can see the manifold is a standard RB25 so yes it bolts straight onto that. I bought the car almost a year ago and it had only recently been hi-flowed, since I've owned the car it has spent more time in the workshop sorting out other problems then on the road.. I'm not sure exactly how many km's but there is very minimal shaft play. You are more than welcome to come check it out yourself I am negotiable on price so make an offer as I have no use for this anymore

I'm needing a new muffler and wanted to get two 2.5-3" pipes coming out the back. But the only ones I have found are straight through pipes. Does anyone know of a 3"inlet--> 2 x 2.5-3" tips? I'm trying to quiten down the car as it is way too loud due to a stuffed muffler.. Any help much appreciated
