  1. I almost bought a R34 GTT TK edition! but it was $42K!!! So i just got a 33 GTSt back in the early 'noughties' Except from the bodykit and built in SatNav kit, i wasnt aware of any other mechanical differences... But, my point is that the importer was able to comply them!
  2. They'll add no difference to the cars performance. It'll just let you evaulate your operating conditions (Rev, Speed and power - if you have the G-Sens unit to go with it) As for installation, it's very straight forward, just need to connect a wire or two to the ECU (a simple wiretap) http://www.apexi-usa.com/pdf/technicalDocumentation/199.pdf Here's the wiring manual for the RSM unit, just take your time and it will be easy in the end. If you dont have a G-sens unit, i have one for sale.
  3. Yeah thnx for all the feedback peeps. I do have an 94 R33 GTST, i took it out tonight and it went fine - no hesitation at all. Any recommendations on where i should go to get a new module?
  4. Hey all, Have a problem with my engine shutting down during normal driving, i took it to get looked at and they said that the ignitor module was failing when it got too hot. It was a cool days when i got the car looked at and using a heat gun they heated up the area on the rocker cover where the module is, took it out for a spin and it shut down. Today, its fairly warm and the car did it twice on the way back home. I was quoted a substantial amoutn of money to source and replace this module. Can anyone confirm the diagnosis of the mechanic with my symptoms? And if so, what about the replacement of this unit? Anyone got one they would like to sell? AzRoN
  5. I'm interested! What do you want for it?
  6. Hey all.... I need a present for the GF; she has a 1996 Toyota Celica and would like to get her some rims for the car. She wants some, but the only ones she wants are the STOCK ZR rims... no aftermarket ones take her fancy... So my call goes out, does anyone have a set of these stock alloy Rims for sale... AzRoN
  7. powder coating wheels... wish i had thought of that sooner. I have made a mess of my wheels, rubbed against concrete gutters, etc... so when you say you have to prep the wheels yourself, does that mean sorta filling them first where 'chunks' have been removed and sanding them back???
  8. Hiss, i hate that, especially when passengers notice it and go, 'whats that sound' Anywhos... i had this problem and found that my wires running from the head unit to the amp were running with power cables. When running cables try to isolate them from other cables, esp. powered ones, as much as possible. this will minimise hiss. Hopefully you can upgrade and employ some RCAs, and dont go cheap on the RCA's either. get some shielded ones. If you were like me and still had a slight hiss when all was hooked up, try using a filter on the inputs at the amp end, or Run a wire from the grounding point of your amp back to the grounding point of your headunit. This worked for me.
  9. Just saw the morning news and 'another Nissan Skyline' has had a crash in Sydneys West killing the 21 year old driver and its 20 yo female passenger instantly. Dont know who it was but, it was a green R32, looked like a GTR, same sort of styled rims, but i couldn't tell. Rest In Peace buddy.
  10. The APC from ALIENS! mash those Alien heads with those 35" rims runnin ultra low profile rubber! I'd like to see a Pimp my Ride on that thing!
  11. ummm, i thought when an import came into the country, aftermarket Mods on the car - more specifically in this instance the Exhaust - has to be destoyed... I enquired 'bout a 34 that was coming in, and the importer said that it had an aftermarket zorst but said it was going to be destroyed on arrival and a stocker fitted due to regulations/emmision control..etc.. This was the case with the zorst, pod filters should be ok (mine did come with a HKS mushrom fitted and got complied) but other things like BOVs, bleeders et al i have no idea bout.
  12. Cheerz guys. Much appreciated!
  13. I tried searching, i even browsed for a bit but cant find the stock diameter of a R33 wheel. But, as i don't have my original wheels/tyres off my '94 R33 GTS-t and since putting in my APEXi RSM the speed output is somewhat lower than what the dash reads. So, can anyone help with the standard wheel+tyre diameter of a stock 94 R33 GTS-t... from memory i'm fairly confident they came with 16" rims, but, i have no idea of stats on the tyres.. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers.
  14. There are a few threads on faulty coil packs in this forum where people have used electrical tape to seal up micro cracks in them. These cracks were the issue... as far as testing them goes, i have no idea but a search should yeild more.
  15. the r33 skyline manual has the ecu pin outs for the rb20/25 det/dett... There are also a fair few threads on this forum with this information here - use the search button and the key words ecu pinout...
  16. I found two flares in my cars footwell when i installed my stereo! Bring on the next soccer match!
  17. I have a friend who has pledged there legal-ness! Claims he even wrote to VicRoads (i'm obviously only speaking for VIC here) asking them about Neons. Neons, to some extents are legal as long as they are NOT RED, WHITE or FLASHING [NFS:U ] I think the red and white ones *could* be mistaken for headlights/tail lights and confuse other drivers... As such, all other colours are cool, but, he did say that they can only be fitted to the sides and not the rear or front of the car. I personally don't mind the neons, i don't have them myself, i'd rather spend the money on other items for the car. What I really HATE are those nozzle washer LEDs that fit onto the bonnet.. they are TEH GHEY!
  18. Interstate... Again! i have an uncanny knack for being interstate when a club meeting/cruise happens... Hopefully next time i can make it...
  19. There are threads in the General Maintenance section that outline that the cause of the ticking sound is dur to faulty/shorting contacts on your indicator stalk contact points. The ticking sound itself comes from the relay unit under your dash, near your left knee. its a unit that has 'miles' or something to that extent - and this is the thing that 'ticks' I have ripped my dash apart and found this device, and it looked to be in pristine condition. As such, after discussion, it seems that the contact points would be the cause. Do a search and ye shall find plently of info.
  20. Face the music. And the truth shall set ye free... ..except for the re-registration fee.
  21. At least you are OK! However, like many other people have said, i would talk to your friend about reimburstment for the damage. Even if it was a small amount each week/month for a period of time. His neglect to tell you about not having a current license strikes me with shock! Moreso, why/how did he loose his license in the first place? The lack of responsibility and senseibility on your friends part is to blame here, and i for one would make sure that they were taught a lesson. Who knows *what* could of happened - your friend and or yourself could of wound up dead as a result of this.
  22. I saw these at the computer swap meets in Melbourne... from reading their explanation i still can't fully understand why or how this would really work... http://www.superfuelmax.com.au/ Apparently i gave a 27% increase in milage for a truck or sumpin in the USA, there are local testimonials, but, yeah i sorta taking this with a large grain of salt.. Looking at the pictures of this thing look slike it owuld simply pinch the fuel line, and, wouln;t that be real bad?
  23. Personalised Plates? How on earth would these play a part in making your car defective... more so, why would these get you pulled over? I could understand derogatory terms/phrases would get a high amount of interest, but, it is my understanding that VicRoads, RTA, et al have a screening process to nut out ppl who would try and register 'banned' make-ups. I have heard, on these forums, of an instance where someone had something on their plates which was eventually ordered stripped from the car due to public 'outcry'.. however, these instances far outweigh the norm... Plus anyone who would take the path of getting a 'COPSUX', '***YOU' type of plate, then yeah, they deserve all the 'attention' they get from the law. Anywhos...
  24. Intercooler? Radiator?
  25. OMG... this had been happening with me for a while now too. On Sat i took part of my dash out, found the unit that makes the ticking sound - soz i didnt take pictures, the camera was flat. The unit looked to be in good order, and i thought i'd leave it disconnected to stop the sound.. heh.. but that makes the indicators not work At All! Not even the hazards. I have had the soke from the steering column as well.. a ripped off the tiller housing but, couldnt see any wires that looked shorted, all wrapped up in black tape.. I suspect it might be with dodgy wiring of the turbo timer (i have an apexi pen type TT) or immobiliser unit... I too would like any recommendations on how to fix this issue... i really dont want to take it to an auto elec who has no idea about imports with turbo timers and stuff.
