No u can't make cuts thru the body. Every turbo car with a fmic that has the piping going thru the left side inner guard has a defect, and there's nobody in town that can legally fabricate the body to make any engineer or qld transport happy... its getting rediculous. I can't drive my car at all, also half of my mates.

Hi everyone, myself and other half (blockasR32) are leaving mackay in the morning for the long 12 hour drive from Mackay in north QLD, to brissy and the gold coast for a 2 week holiday. We both own skylines, him a 32 gtst, and mine a 33 gtst, but are taking my commodore down. Would anybody like to meet or catch up and show us around? Take us for a drive, or just hang out? We're fun outgoing people and both love our skylines. (he loves it more).. We'd really like to see the scene down there. Also are there any drift days on in the next 2 weeks or TNT's to spectate? - and anybody who'd like to take us to them. Any information or recommendations on where a great parts shop for imports / workshop etc etc.. Looking to buy parts and upgrade our liners. He's building a 26/30.. Heaps cheaper on freight! So after my unluckiness in this thread... Don't Leave Aerosols Inside I'm desperately looking for information on how to remove and install the Quarter glass window in my 2 door r33.. which blew out... I'm most likely going to have to remove it from a wrecking liner, and then somehow get it into my car! Any help would be great! Thanks Karina

Im making him pay for it. He's been a bit unlucky lately. He put up one of those shade things, which were held down by 1 brick on each corner.. the strong winds flung is off his r32, and when it landed all the poles scratched each panel, + his brand new if a month old front bar. Did it a couple times.. *sigh*

steel wool works great! Mine went from 96 down to 78db!!! But don't leave it in too long. It clogs up like your laundry dryer filter!

Toothpaste works too.. if its not badly coloured, or just polish.

My other half has been using my skyline this week, cus he left his keys out at work (works 2 hours inland)... Him and his mates bought some air horns, the type you use with that gas stuff.. He left them in the car, in which the car sits outside in the sun all day. Next thing he hears this huge BANG! Due to the amount of heat, the cans blew up inside the car, and smashed one of my windows. I dunno what the window is called - but now i need a new one!!!! So anyone that would have one, im keen to buy! It's a R33. So guys, please don't leave aeresols, or even alcoholic cans rolling around your car. I've learnt it before with alcohol, as someone left a can of jim beam inside, and it exploded. Took forever to clean! Cheers Karina

So if i do weld this metal plate around the intercooler piping - and get a certificate from an engineer as proof and keep the email with me; ill be okay? (can i just get this done from an exhaust & metal fabrication business?)

Traffic cops are out in my small town of mackay being dickheads and targetting every import on a thursday/friday/saturday night. It's bullshit. Anywho a month ago i and 20 other skylines got done with the same defect. The intercooler piping going thru the inner guard. So i went to investigate - email DOT about the legality of intercoolers. I received this email in return. The police told me i have to redirect my interooler piping and patch the hole up. I went to a roadworthy place and the bloke who gave me the roadworthy certificate 6 months ago when i bought the car, had no idea paperwork and said it was all legal, so signed it off anyway. AGAIN - last weekend i was pulled up - and had a huge fight with a copper. I told him i had an email stating it was all legal and i just had it cleared. He was going to give me another defect notice and charge me with 2 offences.. but my sweet boyfriend calmed the cop down. Coppa reckons he just spent 2 weeks with DOT and know that the piping is illegal. I told him it's not - it doesn't go thru the chassis rail! He said if he see's my car around again he's going to take it off the road! Noooo!!! So i need some help! Im having trouble understanding the email. One of the mechanics told me i should just get a bit of steal surrounding the piping and weld it there, or if stainless - bolt it on.. But am i going to get in another shit fight with another police officer if i do this.. and it's wrong? Is there a standard hole in the guard? I bought the car with the intercooler already installed. How are you to know that cutting thru a guard is going to reduce the effect of impact? Has anyone else had this trouble before? If worst comes to worst, ill pull all my piping out and patch the hole up - but what other intercoolers can you buy that don't do that? Thanks Karina
