  1. sorry mods - i put this in the wrong section. Wasnt paying attention as it should be in parts and accessories. Please move it there if you get a moment. thanks sean
  2. ITEM: R33 rear calipers (pair) - fully rebuilt with new pads PRICE: $300 ono (of course a set of second hand ones might be $150 or so, but these are now in as new condition) SHIPPING: I'm pretty flexible - I can discuss shipping with anyone interested. CONTACT: Bounce me a PM on here or email me at sean75 at gmail.com DETAILS: I bought the calipers to go on my drag car, but have now gone to totally different setup and these are no longer needed. All perishable seals, boots and o-rings were replaced one of the pistons is fresh as well Calipers are fitted with new Bendix standard material pads - I wanted the pads to bite from stone cold for drag racing. Both calipers have been sprayed black with VHT brake component paint. Since being rebuilt they have not been used at all. In the below pic the caliper is just dummied up to check clearances. Uploaded with ImageShack.us The discs in the picture are surplus as well - they are mitsubishi 380 discs that I had slotted. They only had 1500 kms of use before I bought them off a wrecked car - $100
  3. Whilst he is responsible for his own actions, I feel such sadness and sympathy for his family and friends. Please, please be careful guys. Those sorts of speeds in built up areas, especially in such close proximity to other cars are a recipie for disaster. He has paid the ultimate price, and now his family and friends have to deal with it. RIP.
  4. I dunno man - this has been the only reply I've received from the mountain of emails I've sent!
  5. Received approx 30 mis ago from Paul at AIR Hi sean, Thank you for your interest in A.I.R. The 13th of Dec is somthing i have heard for a while and i am sorry to say it is not true. As you probably aware we are half way in resurfacing our race track we are hoping to finish it as soon as we can and get the ball rolling. We are hoping to hold street meets early next year as soon as we set a date im sure you will here about it. Kind Regards Paul So no action this side of christmas - although my mate is a senior manager at Boral so I'll see when they are finishing the track off. (yes there were troubles with the machinery sinking into the track) Sean
  6. Here are some vids from the day. The 32 GTR sounded really good. http://au.youtube.com/paradox667 http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=qVsY5T8N930 Don't stress though - it's unlikely that you'll have to worry about being beaten by a supra next year.
  7. NOS was worth approx 15rwkw for the supra, however it didn't actually help on the day as it spun the tyres before reaching peak HP anyway - If it had held all the way to 7500 (the tyres let go just over 7100) with the happy gas on the cooler it should have been around 515-525. He was spewing as he's caught the HP bug and was shooting for a dyno sheet with a 5XX on it so we figured we'd put my NOS bottle to good use-shame it didn't come off!! Given that boost is still at 24psi, there's a bit more to go however.
  8. The two graphs on my dyno sheet tell the story when it comes to acceleration. Peak hp does not win races, average hp, or area under the power curve, does. Have a look at the two graphs. Although the locked run has higher peak hp, the open converter run wins hands down for average hp over the power pull.
  9. Have a look at this guys. I run a toyota A340 4 speed auto (supra auto), modified, manual shift. I also run a lock-up converter with increased clutch area. The converter is relatively small as the motor I'm running is 4.5L, meaning it has good bottom end torque. The below graph shows 2 power pulls, done back to back, with the second one done with the lock-up in the converter activated. It pulled an extra 10kw, but if you run a bigger converter, that number will be bigger. Also, consider that in std trim the clutches are not meant to hold a motor at full power, so increasing clutch area and line pressure is adviseable. Ultimately I plan to try the lock-up out in the deep end of the track for extra MPH. Cheers Sean
  10. Yep. I got to drive my Crown through there once after I got it registered with the turboed 2.8L, then I moved to Sydney for a year, and when I returned (1998), the car park was no more. I remember being down there when there was 200+ dudes and the cops raided the place en-mass. Good times
  11. Bugger. I was having a good day until you reminded me of that! sean
  12. That's a terrible shame-but brilliant that he's come out of it okay, and that's the most important part. That was one of my favourite comp cars. Here's a shot I got of it at Compak Attak in May. Sean.
