  1. Yeah I figured the centre diff might suffer from doing that, and dont worry guys I had left that dirt road even before the dust had settled, wont be back either I just wanted to let everyone know what happens when you 're-fire' a 33 gtr. About the idle, no-one has any ideas as to why or which component isnt working.
  2. Yeah it totally stopped mine from crunching. I got it from Bursons though for around that price(not less than). Sorry.
  3. I was driving my GTR yesterday and noticed it was idling at about 1400rpm. Not positive as to why it was doing this but I believe it has some thing to do with the cold start, aac valve, or another idle system. It had done this before and all I did was turned it off for about a second and then started it again and it was fine, but in the latter 'fix' I was stationary. When I restarted the car when it was moving I noticed that the 4wd & ABS light were on. Now you all know what that means. RWD! So I went around a corner at a fairly quick pace and sure enough, no torque to the front wheels. With a grin on my face I went to the nearest dirt road I could find and spent the next 5 mins fishtailing down this dirt road with the front wheels totally dissengaged. I knew that this was a flaw/trick with the R32's so I figured, if I stop, everything should kick back in. And I was right, I stopped the car and the lights went off. I drive one way down the dirt road in RWD & drove back the otherway in AWD. So I have a few questions of course. -What do I do about the idle problem? -Does anyone else's R33 GTR do this? -Will this damage the centre diff? (Even though I cant see myself making this an everyday event)
  4. yeah sorry I meant 260 at the fly, thanx everyone
  5. So what is the expected value of my car at the flywheel, 260awkw?
  6. Yep absolutely, cant go past a tray of chips cheese and gravy from the gravy spot.....alright!
  7. Yeah i'm from Ballarat. I own the maroon GT-R
  8. by the way FYI, tis symbol also appears within the text on the drivors sunvisor
  9. It only turns on as i am starting the car. I'm not worried as it turns off as soon as the car is started. I just wanted to know what it was. Thanks again guys
  10. yeah its in my car but it was also on this photo...........so exhaust temp?
  11. What is the red image in the centre supposed to represent http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/up...76_11_41994.jpg
  12. does it flash as you are starting the car
  13. Hey everyone, I recently had my gtr tuned just after getting it rebuilt and it made 209kw at all 4. From what I have read a normal r33 gtr is capable of splitting its torque 60/40. Mine demonstrated a 50/50 torque split which I was told was because it has a healthy centre diff. But my main query is if my gtr made 209kw at the wheels, from what I've read, this would mean that it would make about 360kw or so at the flywheel. Now this seems a bit unrealistic because the only mods I have are 13.5psi, standard air box with k&n panel filter and a fujitsubo titanium cat back exhaust. So what I want to know is, what sort of loss would I expect and therefore how much power does it make at the flywheel?
  14. The above is further backed up in the EPA's publication, Modified Vehicle guidelines 2006, sections (a), (b), and © of page 5
  15. No, what I meant was, that this is skylines australia, we will probably be a bit biast
  16. this is probably a stupid place to be posting that question
  17. Thats all fine and you could imagine that this is where seatbelts and airbag advisory's are noted. But mine has an image on it that coincides with a light that, lights up as I start my car. Has anyone found out what this is.
  18. Hi everyone, Is there anyone out there who has translated the information atached to the plastic pocket on the sunvisor of an R33, not sure if this info is different on GTR's GTS-t's etc. Did a search but nothing helpful came up
  19. there's one on ebay mate, just search for "R33 GTR"
  20. You have got to be kidding. A fan. Getting the air there faster wont do much...........at all. What you want is more air packed into the same volume going into the engine, then perhaps some sort way of getting it in faster. If this is for an r32, an RB20det wont cost you much and there is enough of them out there. I suggest you get one, then worry about how much you can get through those pipes.
  21. There are shrouds sold to cover pod filters. As far as I know they are quite legal. The best thing to do would be to ask vicroads and get them to advise you on what you can have given your current modifications, if there is some sort of intake limitation.
  22. Thanks for your help msnismo
  23. Yeah thats the one. So it is a heat sensor or............
  24. Hey everyone, I have noticed there is a sensor on the top of my dash next to the front windscreen demisters. By the look of it its appears to be a light sensor, and pointing upwards would also suggest this. So it would seem it has something to do with the headlights, this would then suggest that the headlights are in some way automatic or respond to this sensor. Yes I have done a search but it was inconclusive. Should my head lights turn off/on automatically.
