Thanks for your speedy response. I know it's cylinder 1 because when it's misfiring if I unplug coil pack 1 the misfire doesn't change. I've replaced my injectors 3 months ago with brand new ones and also forgot to mention that I checked the injector plugs with a node light. I also used a stethoscope and could hear the injector ticking. Other thing I should mention is that it's running extremely rich while the cylinder doesn't fire.

Hey guys, Been trying to troubleshoot this issue which occurred one day while I was driving the car during the stinking 35+ degree hot weather. My 1st cylinder is not firing at all. Some days it starts running fine and gives me false hopes that she's okay - the next day it f**ks around again! I've tried the following things to rectify this issue: - Replaced coil packs with brand new YJ coils. - Replaced coil pack harness. - Sent ecu to microtech to get to checked. It cleared the diagnostic tests. - Dry compression tested the engine. Compression results were all within 3-5 psi of 150psi. - Replaced CAS. - Tested all ignition related wiring continuity. It all passed the diagnotic tests. Some things to know about my car that relate to this issue: - it has a microtech ltx12 ecu - YJ coil packs. I'm at a point where I've hit a dead end. Does anybody have any decent advice they could give me? Secondly is there anybody in Sydney that would let me plug their ecu into my car because I get this feeling that my ECU is screwed and it's not worth taking a gamble and buying another one if I can't confirm it's the issue. i got the same problem ever since i updated to ios7. And to add to it now SAU forums have disappeared of tapatalk... tapatalk was fine - only the SAU community app is playing up.

Can you imagine the damage that would be cause if the lift malfunctions... Lol

When I plug the one in my car, idle gets rough and starts hunting... Not sure if anybody else experiences this.

Belts only cost about $30 - if there is no other damage I wouldn't bother arguing with them - if your located in western Sydney I'd be more than happy to refit them for free for ya... Problem is these dodgy mechanics always find a reason to not be liable for their f**k ups!

That's as cheap as its going to get And remember skylines are imports and have a bad reputation for being written off so a lot of insurance companies refuse to insure them! Anybody else have any advice on cheap/good insurance companies??

I'm 25 years old with maximum no claim bonus - im insured with justcar, my premium is $1250 and my excess is $800. The agreed value for my car is $10,500 and it includes cover for all aftermarket mods. Last year my premium was $1600 and my excess was $1200.

I totally agree - and if you smell my dipstick it smells like petrol!

You guys can argue the point all you want but my car is currently having this issue... Cylinder one is not firing and therefore on cold start it spills out some unburnt petrol. It gets so bad that it even leaks out of my cat! It may not be his problem, but I'm just pointing out possibilities. Also take note of the fact that in 30+ degrees temperatures your exhaust condensation is very minimal.

Liquid would be unburnt petrol - try isolating your problem to the cylinder that is misfiring and then test for spark! Keep us filled on how it all goes...

I get around 250-300km out of the tank and there is usually about 5-10litres left when I fill up!
