  2. I would never do that - just put the car in gear and use some of the man power to torque it out - cranking the car is so bloody dangerous i reckon!

  4. I bought a cometic mls head gasket from Fabre Australia in Lakemba. I paid $300 for it but they were the only supplier in Australia to have a 86mm cylinder bore head gasket with 51thou thickness.

  6. Well I gotta get tuned anyhow cause I've changed a lot things... I'm thinking Ill go with your advice and get the cam gear. Ps: I got a microtech ltx10. Car jumped on boost pretty late so for my comfort ill assume VCT was disabled anyway lol. Now I just gotta pick the right gear and I'm set
  7. Hey guys, Brought a set of cam shafts and got sent the non-VCT billet - guy refuses to replace it as he reckons its my fault... Questions I've got: - I have a microtech ecu map tune... Would VCT still have been operating with my original camshaft or is the microtech ecu non compatible with this option? - I've done some research on pro's and con's but i just need some personal opinions... Either I buy a adjustable cam gear for $150 bucks or I get the intake camshaft remade for $400. Are the pro's of VCT worth that extra money and hassle??? Thanks in advance guys! Cheers

  9. Hey buddy, Nice work - good to see your perusing on with your passion... Only comment I can make is on the head studs - my car was running 18psi for the 2 years I've had it on a standard head gasket and head bolts. Leave them be until they blow, then change over to mls head gasket and head studs!
  10. I had same issue... First thing I did, check coolant and oil for mixture (if that's the case usually means cylinder head gasket)... If that's not the issue monitor the exhaust to find out exactly when it blows smoke (eg. Cold starts, cruising down a hill, or on hard acceleration). Once you've done that you could probably post your results and we'll help ya some more PS: from what I've heard if its your piston rings the thing just blows white smoke constantly and unbearably... I blew the rear seal on my turbo and everything was running fine - it would just burn oil in the mornings!
  11. try getting it smoke tested - only costs around $70 i think... good thing about it is smoke comes out of any leaks so they're easy to spot!
  12. Let me give a tip in diagnosing the black soot - spray some water on the exhaust and park in the sun - if it gets that rainbow effect on the water means your leaking through motor oil - that would explain the smoke and exhaust fumes.

  15. Idle control valve below the plenum and trim + dash around the gear stick - what condition are they in? How much would you sell them for? And where are you located?
  16. Definitely the boost solenoid! Maybe the breather nipple is leaking air - it's the top one I believe

  18. Nice build dude - you got a sweet taste for mods! Not trying to be an asshole with this question, but asking for my personal learning... With that beefy looking engine bay and all those modifications how will you avoid being targeting by police and constantly defected?

  20. Got it all sorted - i was losing the last number when copying and pasting the vins and FAST would automatically just add a 0 to the vin number lol... silly me!
  21. You could of just said nah sorry dude.... You can keep your hand controller and ecu!
