I've got a question ......pureley out of curiosity. I realise that stuff that comes into australia is gonna have a huge mark up from cost in japan due to import tarrifs, taxes, shipping, retail mark up etc etc..... but i was wondering exactly how much that difference amounts to ....eg a set of 17" Volk TE37 , advertised in a mag (usually i find advertised prices to be more than what you actually get priced), sans rubber were something like $3200 AUD, i was just wondering what kind of off the shelf price they are in japan, at a place like autobacs etc.... ps. i really shouldn't be asking this question, cos i know the answer is gonna make me cry

Silva: i don't know if this is ya prob, but i had a noise and it was this.......there is a plastic disc type thing that pushes down the contacts of your horn, most likely with heat or over agressive horn slammin or whateva that this has broken, and have bits of plastic floatin around in the cavity.... you have probs beeping the horn?? shy: as you have already taken your cover offf.......no idea, sorry edit: on second reading i realise you mean the steering column cover, and not the front of the wheel itself, mine is a 93 not equipped with airbag, so i couldn't help ya with getting it off...

I don't know about you, but i'm sure its goes like this, i get it all the time.. Driving down the freeway, on the speed limit, then some dope in an excel or whatever comes up your arse, then overtakes, giving you some sorta wierd ass look......they think they are racing you Then they prolly go to all thier mate "ohh i took this skyline on today, and i blew his doors of!!" and his mates are like "aww sick maaate"....wank :whackit:

When u get a fine initially they take your rego, and when they go round checking cars, if they have taken your rego previously, and you have fines outstanding, they clamp you. Apparently people have been trying to shut down the clamping through legal means with no success (i think they have some influential people connected to them), especially seeing that similar attempts in the east have been successfull in the eastern states...

Might have something to do with the fact that those cars cost a shit load of dosh , and the people that are in a position to buy them are experienced drivers who have been there and done that, and know the limits on the road

I couldn't agree with someonestolecc any more...i have been saying it for ages, it makes me sick. When i do somethign wrong, i take the responsibility. When i hear those stories about people suing maccas for getting fat etc it makes me sick.......If a was a judge and a lawyer tried to bring that bullshit in front of me it would get thrown out in a second.......and i would give the lawyer a subtle hint that if he brought bullshit claims like that forward again, he might need to consider a career change.......that's of course if u had powers like that being a judge, which i doubt Yes rezz i know that.......i gotten it all my life with a second name which contain 10 letters, and a massive football fan (it's not soccer) , but the point i'm making, is that that is not the only reason, the influence that government and business has on the media in this country is massively underestimated

It's funny how big business, the government, and the media can come together for their own greedy profits, and screw the little guy, claiming it's all for thier own good. How come when some idiot in a V8 wraps himself around a pole it's just another tragic accident...speed kills blah blah blah, but when it's some idiot in an import, we hear nissan skyline about 15 times in a 2 minute segment. The only way to really make a difference on our roads is through education. Proper Driver training (not a 45 minute lap around the block for the "test" and hand over the P's): This should include driving in the wet, how to control a skid (ie if lock it up by accident, which can easily happen to inexperienced driver in wet conditions), Experience in driving in heavy traffic BEFORE getting a license. But education does not only extend to behind the wheel, it must include a message about attitude on the road. Also Events such as the Wed night drags here in WA /skid pans/track days/ properly organised drift days, and hill climbs etc should be heavily backed by police and governent so as to encourage motorsport in a safe way. But when it comes down to it, as we all know, this will never happen, because money talks, and the amount of revenue gained by the current road "safety" plan is far more important to the powers that be than peoples lives....... Driver education costs money, and things like "terrorism" and "national security" are much more important.

Hey, i know there are a lot of threads on this topic, but i was just wondering where i can get the antenna plug adaptor (not the band expander) here in perth, and whether i have to wait for it. I'm also wondering how people got thier automatic antenna working with an aftermarket H/U, mine has an auto antenna connection but i don't think it's needed? Thanks
