Yes i totally agree with you on the lessons. I believe the point of arguing with them would be to maybe put the $1200 it cost me for new tyres and wheels back or put towards something that is actually suitable rather than writing it off as a loss.

Ok I have been here almost 5 years now and this is my first ever post in any forum other than the for sale section. Whilst I didnt grow up fixing cars and such most of what I have learned has come from searching these forums, but this time I need some help.... I have a R32 GTR which I brought from an importer, about 2 months ago I grazed a kerb and got a bruise in the side of my tyre. So I decided to take the wheel off to change to spare and what do I find? Spacers, HUGE spacers, needless to say I didnt know these were actually illegal until I read it on the forums. Long story short, I have no idea how the importer complied the car with these spacers on there. They must be 20cm, they bolt on to the hub itself. So I go down to Bob Jane and tell them look fit me some wheels and get rid of the spacers, they find something that clears the brakes and I say ok they are nice. I pick the car up after work when they are closed and drive it home. The car is all over place, especially around corners something is definately not right. I take it back to them on the saturday and he tells me well your strut must be bent as the camber is out 1 degree on the left side. So I take my car to a suspension place and have them put back the original GTR shocks, they tell me that the bushes are gone (which I read about here on the forums) and they tell me to go with the camber kit. So $680 later I again pick up the car after work with all the front bushes replaced and upper camber kit. The suspension guy tells me that the ball joint on the drivers side is stripped on the botton and the nut is just sitting there. I say, Is this ok to drive on? He assures me its ok. I drive the car out of there as they are closing and its still not right, I dont even think this suspension place test drove my car. I ring up ranting and he tells me that its something to do with hicas or something else and I am fed up at this point. So a few days ago I hear a noise in the front left and I take the car to tyrepower near my work because it sounds like something is loose. The call me 15 minutes later and tell me the car shouldnt even be on the road because of the offset on the wheels and the ball joint etc. So once this is all explained to me (prior to this I had no idea what any of this) I am REALLY mad, I get car towed. Now that its been explained to me I don't know how the suspension guy could have let me drive out of there with the nut (which is now missing) from the bottom of the ball joint metal glued in place. They have told me the tyres and rims I was sold should never have been fitted to begin with because the offset is not correct, so one thing at a time I am going to go back to these establishments and try and have them fix their mistakes. So before I go back to these places I need some clarification so that I am not going to lose the battle. The tyres they fitted me with are 235/40ZR18 95 W the stamp on the rim is ET 36, I am told the 32 GTR needs between 20-25P. Would the change in offset affect my steering or is this just a bad wheel alignment? Do I have a case to go back to Bob Jane and say you fit the wrong tyres/rims here and they should have never been sold to me, or is it purely a vanity thing that they dont even line up with the guards. I have read that fitting the wrong wheels has caused problems with bending steering columns from searching here on the forums but I have never seen anyone confirm that. After that I am going to go back to the suspension place and ask them how the flying hell they let me drive out of there with the bottom nut held on the ball joint with a bit of steel glue. So your comments/suggestions anything would be appreciated, I know now that this is probably the best place to consult for people who know these cars and get me headed in the right direction again.

thanks heaps for your support guys... i know who stole it because he did an engine swap for me, he just decided he would palm off my engine and keep the money instead of letting me have it back.. the cops are already all over it and he doesnt have a leg to stand on, he even used his own mobile number and suburb in the quokka listing, he isnt the smartest of people... ill post an engine number tommorrow... it was advertsed in the quokka released on the 10/02/05 in the asian parts section under skyline, listed for $1500.. hes has/is trying to palm it off as a working engine when it has massive blow by due to a ring gone in number 1. some people eh?

This motor was stolen from me and then sold in the quokka, i dont want to see some poor skyline owner get charged for recieving stolen goods or something stupid like that. Man the drive over is awesome for a first timer, just dont fall asleep on australias longest stretch of straight road (147.7km from memory) not one turn... definately do not drive at night or during dusk as one roo and its the end of your trip... i made the mistake of driving at night and i had to drive at 40km/h all night simply because there was that many, and you can never tell which way they are going to jump, because hey they are stupid kangaroos. I tried to stop but lets just say there was an incident with a spider as big as my hand crawling across the front of my windscreen towards my open window, needless to say that was enough to make every piece of dust or twig that came through the aircon a potential spider crawling up my leg, its a story i tell often thought... Take as much variety in music as you can, especially stuff thats going to keep you awake.. it does get tiring as much as you think you love driving.. most importantly if you feel tired dont shake it off, stop and rest or take a walk... Be prepared for anything, better to be safe than sorry, make sure you pack a first aid kit, get your car serviced, pack a jerry can and also extra water.. theres up to 400-450km's between stops so you have to remember that, if you break down i think its about $2 a km or something ridiculous to be towed back even if you are an rac member. Dont speed whatever you do, they have planes that go out and take your speed from markings made on the road...then the next cop you see will be the one coming to bust you. And be prepared to pay up to 40c more than the going rate for fuel... Its definately character building and you appreciate what those truckies go through to deliver stuff that you take for granted.. my advice is do it because you wont regret it, just make sure you do it properly.. Sorry if i re-iterated anything that was already said... good luck whatever decision you make..

as far as i knew the tiptronic is controlled by the ecu since the auto box is pretty much standard..

i dont have the duct from the turbo to the afm unfortunately.. but i do have the airbox and the afm.... ill get photos asap, but might be a while due to having to borrow a digicam... i dont have a front grill either im sorry.. heres some things some people might be interested in... coilpacks.. entire loom.. ecu.. dash.. tiptronic gearshifter and auto gearbox... tps.. suspension and brakes.. all dash and front of car wiring... fuseboxes, inside car and engine one..

i got 189 kw on the dyno, but the boost died off from 12psi to 9psi... ps anyone who has an idle air control valve that doesnt need one, im chasing one... also anyone who can still help me price these parts for sale, please do... pm if nessicary, i really need to get some money from these parts and im willing to ship them.... cheers

hey guys im not really sure about prices and that, can anyone give me a hand or an opinion on what fair prices for everyhing is... i dont wanna rip people off and i wanna sell this stuff so any info/guidelines appreciated.. as for neo in the skyline, it was a nightmare just getting the motor to run.. ive had to use all my r33 sensors and the std r33 computer.. plus the r33 coilpacks and ignition module.. needless to say the coilpacks dont sit in right and the list goes on.. im getting it tuned and looked over next wed so ill let you know what the dyno says..
