Ok I'm pretty new to electronics/fixing my own car etc so this was a new experience for me Ok so here's the situation.. My CA18DET decided out of nowhere that it didn't want to start last night.. Originally I thought this was becuase, I was low on fuel and parked in a street which sloped to the left heavily.. So all the fuel was drained away from the pump??! After repeated attempts to start it and no luck I pushed it onto flat ground where it still didn't want to start.. Next enters christian. Christian from ns.com came over to help.. After alot of testing he managed to start the car after removing a spark plug. He then thought there may have been some sort of over fueling in the cylinder which needed to be released via removing the spark plug I think while starting the car.. Now anyway, after we got it running I went for a simple little drive and everything seemed fine, stopped at service stations and restarted like normal too.. Now all of a sudden today the same problem has occured and it doesn't want to start.. Thing I have done to try and fix this.. Checked spark plugs ( they seem pretty f**ked/fouled - Quite heavily burnt in areas and all grey/black around the spark part. White paint/stuff leaking from the top. Checked and found I have no or very little coolant Did a self diagnosis with the ECU (it's a mines ecu) Got fault code 13.. engine temperature sensor circuit wiring fault This supposedly can result in Ecu engine stalls, lack of power, low economy. Tried again a few more times, and kept getting 55.. ( No problems..) NO PROBLEMS?!! it won't start!! Now whether that was because I accidentally deleted any fault codes by accidentally going to mode 4 is out there, but i'm 99% sure i didn't accidentally enter mode 4.. Also, when Christian managed to start the car, he found that if he moved the wiring for injector 2 or 4 the car would idle really rough and also want to stall.. Now.. The conclusions.. There is a spark..(tested with a screwdriver) , There is fuel, there is ignition, but there is no magic.. So here's what I've come up with.. 1. Stick with fault code 13.. Because I still have zero/no coolant.. Thus, if coolant is dispersed around the engine to control heating, and there is no coolant, perhaps the ecu is detecting this and not letting the car start? 2. Bad/fouled spark plugs resulting in a difficult start, each faulty spark plug is resulting in a 25% reduction in power.. Thus maybe making the car difficult to start.. (But we did get a spark with the screw driver test, so i'm unsure of this one) 3. Some sort of issue with the injectors and/or injector wiring perhaps something grounding? 4. Take out all the spark plugs and try to start the car to drive out any unburnt fuel which may be flooding the cylinders? (put em back in and restart) (Should I try this???) Any help is greatly appreciated guys.. I'm just trying to narrow it down to save myself money when/if I need to send it into a shop.

After some friendly help from a NS.Com'er and N1GTR on here (who we didn't end up having to call) The car is fixed Injector wiring/part is playing up a little.. But.. For those who might want to know. This was our situation There was a spark > There was fuel > The AFM was fine > the compression was fine > the car wouldn't start It seemed this is how the problem may have formed.. Car wouldn't start on the incline with low petrol.. Lots more attempts wouldn't start. Resulting in flooding of the injectors/spark plugs i dunno Took one spark plug out, put it back in and it started..

Hey guys, my car (s13) started up today for about 4 seconds then promptly died. Tried start again a few times and it wouldn't do it. Now here's the info.. Car was just under 1 bar of petrol, parked on a street where the car was leaning so that the majority of the fuel was angled away from the fuel pump. I went and got a jerry can, (5 litres) car still didn't want to start. I then moved the car to flat ground, but it still doesn't want to start. It's turning over, but just doesn't seem to be getting any fuel I think. P.S the battery is fine Anyone around the Bondi area able to come help me out? (My parents are in central australia, no reception and they are the NRMA members, and the dam NRMA won't do a call out unless I join up. I'm 19 and don't have a credit card so can't join.. So if you are around the Bondi area please call me on 0439890549 if you are able to try a jump start or help me out ( I'll pay you with money or beeeeeeeeeeer)

f**k I was leaving uni today. Parked on the main road running past my uni.. Anyway, lights turn red and all the cars start piling in.. I have my indicator on so I'm naturally waiting for someone to let me in as it's a f**king red light.. So this cab stops a bit, I go to move out a little and he moves forward more.. I move a bit more and he moves forward more.. By this time I've just got enough room to get out, suddenly he starts beeping at me yelling.. So I'm thinking what the f**k man, It's a red light, be easy. I finally get out as the lights go green and the traffic starts moving so I give him the finger for being a prick.. He's now high beaming me from behind and then trying to get around me via the bus lane where heaps of my fellow uni students are waiting for buses, getting off buses and crossing the road. So I cut the idiot off to prevent him from killing anyone.. It's not like he had a chance of overtaking me.. 14 pounds running with 30m of space says his falcon isn't getting infront of me.. Anyway.. We finally get up to the two lane part of the road and the fool is yelling at me out of his window.. Saying all sorts of stupid things that just don't justify him being a prick at the very start. So I'm yelling back calling him a f**king idiot for not letting me in at the lights, he wasn't going anywhere with a red light.. WHo the f**k doesn't let someone in when the traffic is at a standstill?? That is just sad. Things like that just shit me.. Should have hopped out of my car at the next set of red lights and thrown fists lol '

yea most BP's near me have 98 again.. f**k you caltex charging me $1.60! BP was $1.53! Hopefully rudd's new laws about watching over fuel bring that down into the 40's!

Nice, simple and clean. Nice dish too. Any idea of the offset though?

Man you did it all wrong.. All import owners are supposed to be crazed drug dealers.. You were supposed to hurl abuse at the father and kid for offering light, YOU DON'T NEED LIGHT, Don't let the white man bring you down!

Ahh thanks heaps, that helps alot. Narrows down my choices so much. It's either black drift-teks or the black Rota Grid's I seem to have a thing for the black on black.. Although white might look better.. What do you guys think?

Looking nice and clean. If you do go for new wheels consider offset as one of your highest priorities. I clean mine maybe once a month lol, she's rough as so I really cbf.

This is cool.. I wasn't old enough or interested in cars back in the 90's to follow the GTR's progress.. But now I can

My god they are hot

lol I'll try anyway.. There's two choices for you.. Oiled or Dry.. For the oiled the number once choice is usually K & N For the dry the best choice is usually Apexi The advantage of Oiled is you can clean it etc under water, with the dry ones you can't. But this is all useless unless you have a decent CAI (Cold air induction) system set up feeding cold air to your pod. Otherwise you're just going to get heat soak and you'll chew even more petrol.. So make your choice from that.

K done, lock zee thread please eug
