  14. Sounds completely gone now. Didn't stay around for long. I have a weird car....
  15. I also have occasional misfires with my S14. Try the following things: Change fuel Filter - could have some dodgey stuff sitting in there. Check the screws are on tight which holds each coil down (dont do them up too tight that they snap). Check the vacuum lines for leaks etc. Check 02 sensor (check for voltage on the multimeter. from memory I think it should have a charge of >0V to <1V - tell me if its different values. Reset ECU (just disconnect the battery for 30 mins and press the brake a few times to get rid of any remaining charge) Check/block your EGR valve, this has the tendency to make the car "hesitant" at lower revs, if you want to block it visit this website http://www.jull.co.uk/mods/egr.html Let me know what the culprit is with it mate. Good Luck edit: what plugs are you using, are they hot, cold or standard rating?
  16. Hey all, Need to do some work to the car this weekend and was having a flip through the manual to see what sockets I will need. The workshop manual states "The units given in this manual are primarily expressed as the SI unit (international system of units). And alternatively expressed as the metric system and the yard pound system. For example Tightening torque 59 - 78 n.m (6.0 - 8.0 kg.m, 43-53 ft-lb)" I have no idea what sized socket that would be, I've tried googling it and everything that comes up is irrelevant. I know that when they say to use the socket size "29-39 N.m (3.0 - 4.0 kg.m, 22 - 29 ft-lb)" equals a 14mm socket. Does anyone know how to convert it or understand it? Any info is much appreciated! Joel edit: Never mind, just spoke to a mate and said it was the torque setting on the wrench.
  17. Yeah some people can be dipsticks. Maybe you could use a person as a dipstick? Cheap too
  18. Not always. Mum's BMW 120 doesnt have one. Its electronically read. However, all RB's should have one .
  19. Actually I had a look at the CAMS website before. Turns out experience isn't always essential. Might not be too much after all
  20. Sounds like alot of work. Might be easier to just get a ticket to paddock instead Thanks for the help
  21. If my ring was gone, it would blow sh*t.
  22. Hey all, I was just wondering whether anyone had any idea about how you would go in marshalling for the formula one or MotoGp? Firstly, is it just voluntary and secondly, are there any licenses you will need? (cams/ a special marshall licence?) Any info is appreciated. Cheers Joel
  23. I think I'll leave it up to the mechanics. Not too confident with taking out the gear box. Thanks for the info, at least I know that its not anything too major (hopefully...)
  24. Thanks bnr, Should I ignore it or fix up that spring? Makes sense that its the starter motor.
  25. Hey all, My car at start up has started to make this sound like there is a scrunching up of a big sheet of alfoil. I've had the sound for a while randomly here and there but lately its becoming longer. Anyone know what this could potentially be? Joel
