hahah, say bye bye 2hunjy! Hello RB26. Once the SR20 dies, RB26 will replace it in the engine bay - it can be done damn leakages, think I'll being going to my new mechanic
-
hmm, it could be a leak, but if its running stock boost, how could I all of a sudden have a leak? especially when I barely boost?
-
I was driving normally down the valley, once i got to the bottom, I chucked it into fourth and it started boosting a bit, so i thought sweet, chucked it 3rd, it launched for a bit, once it got to 140 it wouldnt go anymore so it had only been under boost for about a minute max before it started to hold back I dont know if it could be a boost leak, I take care of my car, then again you could be right. I change the oil every 5000, and then a mechanic looks at it all over and tells me any problems, the gaskets of the turbo were replaced but it shouldnt be leaking now. However, mechanics can be scams
-
It just sat on 5k and wouldnt go any faster - engine speed or km/h speed It sounded like it was getting close to redline but not quite there
-
Its a hill that climbs for a good kilometer or two. It starts at the bottom of a valley, so initially its quite steep and it takes ages to be back on flat land. I started hitting 5k rpm when it was about halfway from being back on flatness. It was really weird because it wouldnt rev any further but was nowhere near the limiter
-
Rance It has a heavy duty organic clutch, got installed december last year, so you're saying that it might be the car's computer restricting things?
-
Dee 33 It kind of felt like the extra revs werent giving any power. It was sitting at 5k rpm (and wouldnt go any higher) going up a hill at 140 in 3rd gear, so MAYBE it was to do with the slope. I didn't put it in 4th because there wasnt enough room to safely slow down Its the local 200sx s14, not the jap one Abo bob Yep, the whole car is stock - I dont know whether to do it up (with and exhuast and boost controller) as it costs $$$$ to do properly. Is it worth chucking on a 3inch turbo back? and getting an electronic boost controller?
-
Hey all, The other night (private roads of course) I was pushing my car (s14) I noticed that in 3rd gear at 5k rpm it sempt to no longer really accelerate. It sempt like it wouldnt go any faster, what could this be? note: car is stock therefore boost problems shouldnt really be existent. Is there anything that I can do to make it more efficient at higher engine speeds?

But what if the kid (Learner) is angry at the parent and refuses to obey his/her instructions? Just because theres a fully licensed driver supervising doesn't mean its safe. All the time you hear of Learner driver killing them and their families as they're driver the commonwhore v8 family car.
-
Hmmm, tough question. If both engines are STOCK: The RB20DET will be much more efficient then that of the SR20DET. Apart from more torque. the engines made for a slightly heavier car. HOWEVER, If you are serious about modifying the engine. The SR20 will be much cheaper to as parts are more widespread and at the same time there are less cylinders. The SR20 is much more stable at higher powers than the RB20. I'm no mechanic, but thats how I would be considering it.

I use to have a lantra. I thought it didn't need coolant because our climate was not cold enough, so instead, for a solid year I REPLACED COOLANT WITH PURE TAPWATER. The RESULT: The Hydraulics holding the pullys of the timing belt corroded, leading to the timing belt coming very close to falling off. $1300 later the car could run properly again.

Double clutching makes no difference in terms of acceleration. The reason people double clutched was because back in the old days there were no sync rings in the gear boxes. Today however, every single cars since the 60's has sync rings in their gear boxes so you are silly to double clutch accelerating. I only double clutch when slowing down (heal and toe) when i want to go around a corner quickly and accelerate out of the apex fast.

If i let mine idle heaps (warming up in mornings, etc) I only get around 400km If i boost heaps its about the same. Normal driving i get about 500km per tank

Maybe I should reap havoc on skylinekiller's ass again? muhaha. For those of you who are uniformed, check out this http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...2&postcount=344

Very Nice R33 I wouldn't bother changing anything to make it anymore aesthetically pleasing. Your wheels are fine. Spoiler is a bit serious but if you're going to race it at180km/h all the time then you might need it. Personally I would go the FMIC and ELECTRONIC boost controller (hks, greddy, trust)
-
Yes driving with two feet is safer. You'll wipe a second off your response time. Lets do the math. 90km/h = 25m/s Stopping 25 metres earlier is a significant distance in case of emergency.

I saw this thing a guy got from jaycar. It was like a little remote sensor. You could put it anywhere. it came with a pager like thing which went off when motion was detected on the remote sensor. Kinda good if you can't see your GT-R because the sensor will notify you when there is movement that should't be there.

Stupid precision driving at it's best
leb replied to ossie_21's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Yeah, I admire them for it, you can't say that isn't cool. But i wouldn't personally do it in Australian, theres enough idiots on the road as it is. Yeah its an Audi and BMW M5 if you look carefully as the driver is about to turn off the camera, you can see the BMW logo printed on the passengers window. -
Rex would maul a GTS-T into peices stock or modified

No skyline but a damn fine looking car M3 CSL
leb replied to Hiroshima Screamer's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I'd still rather that than any skyline. Its a brand new M3 CSL why would you want a GT-R when you could have that? it would handle so much better than a gt-r too -
supra looks beautiful stock, GT-T need a bit of facework. Personal choice really. Another question, why would you get auto? they cost around the same. Any second hand car you get will have problems, so you might as well throw the money at something with a manual gearbox. Don't go N/A as its alot slower and still just as heavy. 30,000 Id get a 33gt-r or an RX7 series VII or VIII or maybe even a WRX

Letter to SkylineKiller - For all to see for their own amusement All Quotes made have been by skyline killer Isn’t that a narrow minded thing to say? As you’re generalizing the whole skyline community to being “all the same” Some of your statistics are wrong. A Wheels magazine from 2002 showed the performance between the Monaro GTS and the Nissan R34 Skyline V-Spec II N1 Guess which one was quicker? What do you know, the GT-R was. But I guess wheels and I “must” be wrong even though they tested both cars on the quarter mile Sure most HSVs maybe quicker than most GTS-T’s even GT-Rs but the thing is, there is always going to be a corner sooner or later. You’re more over the place than steady eddy could ever be. You’ve gone from paying out people for doing up their skylines AND silvias (even though its not a silvia forum) to showing how some idiot meat head V8 loving brute has modified their car aswell by pumping $$$$$$ into it… Why would you bother. At the end of the day its still a car. –I can guarantee I get much more sex than you You’re saying I have no life? When you personally sign up to SAU to bag jap cars when at the same time just make yourself look stupid. By giving pointless statistics that no one on here really cares about? You’re trying to “pull chicks” with a car. That’s obviously saying something about your physical appearance, relying on a car to help you get the nice “mature” ladies. Bahaha, MEN ONLY DRIVE V8’s. That’s a dim-witted thing to say Wow that’s great, And I’ve never lost to an HSV. Do I care? No. Neither does my car, and yes it is jap, but not riced. Who cares about the sound, mine is nice and quiet and gets less attention. Yeah it may not of, but explain how the petrol prices are treating you. Kind of balances out doesn’t it? Wow, you like torque. Congratulations. Funny, my turbo doesn’t whistle or whine who cares. People like different sounds, as people like different types of music. Japs aim for being a rational country. Why would you need that much power for a street car? Hence the Japanese gentleman’s agreement by forbidding performance cars to have a power limiter (208kw) Its not just about power but the drivetrain. The name ATTESSA ring any bells? That’s sophisticated technology. I don’t see holden or ford bringing in any AWD with a similar working system. Okay, now you’ve gone from venting your rage on skylines to silvias. Silvia’s engines are half the size of an HSV yet when lightly modified they can keep up quite easily. Silvias are like 15+ years old now, look at commodores of that time… YUCK Look at the latest 200sx/s15 silvia, that’s a lot better looking to any of todays clubby Notice how skylines haven’t been made for a couple of years? Heard the latest on it? Read up, it will give you’re LS2 a run for its money when it comes out. But HSV’s are more powerful aren’t they SkylineKiller? So it shouldn’t matter? But which car was winning the races? Could you really back that up? Hence, why do you bother? There are different car communities. We mind our own business, but you have shown the typical stereotype to that of a BOGAN. P.S. Give "shazza" my regards P.P.S I am not lebanese

Yeah goonie thats was f**ked, some truck drivers need to get a re-test. Bloody pricks
-
GTS-T's are extremely over-rated. GT-Rs will kill a V8 on track as they handle much better. SkylineKiller Tell me this. Why did they ban GT-Rs from Bathurst?

Hey all, I tried searching for any talk on Powershift Automatics at narrabeen. I was wondering if anyone has used them and whether they do a good job? The reason I ask is that I have spent nearly $4k yes $4k on servicing for my turbocharged nissan (completely stock) only to find that it still does not idle properly. Albeit not all $4k was spent on idling, but more so a general service, still there has been a significant amount spent on the idling problem With Powershift Automatics being recommended to me, should I give these guys a call as my current mechanic (name withheld) is ripping me off severely. Any help would be much appreciated. (Name withheld)Mechanic believes to clean my injectors will cost around the $400-$600 mark. Does this sound correct to you? BTW I am not out west (ie silverwater) so any mechanics on the north shore would be much appreciated as they are a lot closer. I've heard good feedback on Powershift from others, and was wondering if anyone could further their reputation. Thanks heaps in advance Leb
