    I personally wouldn't recommend using a oiled filter with a hot wire air mass meter set-up. The filament is extremely sensitive and it's common for excess oil to bake onto it and render the units useless. K&N filters are unfortunately an oiled set-up, most Japanese brands are note.

    There is no distinct answer, there are so many factors that can influence the results. Mainly if you standard airbox/filter set-up isn't a restriction than you'll see little to no power/response change. However lets not kid ourselves must people swap to a pod set-up for the induction noise, any upgrade in performance comes as a bonus.

    Before going the full restore kits, may I suggest using a paint polish. I have done it on several sets and they have come up 99%.
