Guys I must defend the VL RB30s the over-heating problem associated with VLs is caused by the radiator setup they run. The relative height level of the radiator-to-head doesn't promote air to escape the system rather it gets trapped in the head. It's matter I would only take into consideration when selecting a replacement, stock, head not block. You have to love cast iron.

This is a genuine turbo block that was removed from an 1988 Holden Commodore BT-1. If it isn't the original engine from the vehicle I would be very suprised. Pictures are worth a thousand words so here's my essay As you can see one stud needs to be drilled out in the second image.

The sound you desire is created from pressurised air being vented via the BOV. As there is no means, in an NA situation, to create positive inlet track pressure there is no means for a BOV to make the noise. Therefore in short no.

I would recommend firstly removing the spark plugs and having a look at the electrode. The electrode should be brown to greyish white in colour and should show no signs of wear. If all is well there then my best guess without testing the car would be that your coil packs may be showing signs of failure. If the electrode is warn in any way it would suggest possible detonation. The sound of detonation (Pinging) is very distinctive and my best description would be filling a tin can with marbles then shaking it like crazy. But then add exhaust, road noise and sound deadening and I am sure you get the idea. If this is the case it’s time for a tune and possible fuel system upgrades.

Someone please buy this car so I can get SLK-GTR, R32 GTR I will let it go without the following items Volks, GTR injectors, RB30, Uras drift pineapples, oil cooler, GTR interior and all guages for $14,000

That said I should also encourage people that believe they are being “bullied” into accepting fault not too. If you genuinely believe that you not at fault or believe that fault should be shared, have your moment to argue your point in the court room, not on the street. Remember the magistrate will rule on the facts, not by who is the most intimidating.

Mate I went through a similar thing a few years ago, one major point that was different was the other party had insurance that said the procedure is still the same. Either way don’t aggressively confront the person, this is harassment and won’t get you anywhere. As a member of RACQ (Royal Automotive Club of Queensland) you are entailed to free legal advice, not representation, I can only assume the other states and territories equivalents have the same facilities. As a member I was told to do the following, start with a Letter of Demand. This letter outlines the event (incident, location, time etc), contains both your details and finally the total amount due. I also would attach a copy of the quote/invoice. If you receive no response within 2 weeks of this first follow with a second, which outlines your intentions to lodge a claim if not paid within the dates set by you. If you have a cool head I would say there is no problems with delivering the first letter in person. Although I would recommend sending the second via registered post with person to person delivery, therefore this is an official record of them receiving it. Hopefully this scares the other party enough to just pay, otherwise it is time to start a small claim proceeding. Any amount under $5000 is classed as a small claim. I never got this far, but as I understand they will be summonsed to court and then if found in the wrong, which by the sounds of this accident this will be the case, a court order will be issued for payment. Guys what you need is an R32 GTR speed drive unit. They are a direct bolt into the RB25DET gearbox and accept the factory speed cable. I can say this being 100% sure as I just yesterday installed the drive unit and I once again have a speed in my cefiro. Also don't let anyone tell you the RB20 gearbox is up to the job of and RB25, you will kill it really quickly.
