  1. Hey GTaaargh I have a BLITZ Access ECU up for grabs - out of my R32 GTR it was mildly modified with HKS pods, bigger exhaust and R32 N1 Turbos ran sweet as – and I'm open to offers at this stage Upgraded to PFC – now getting 300awkw
  2. I have an R32 GTR with R34 N1 turbos dumps full exhaust minor port and polish of the head with comp seats forged pistons PFC with EBC 400rwhp @ 1bar - easy
  3. oops RADIUS not Diameter (bugger) the RADIUS of my wheel is only 315mm so I now get 6300 = ( T * 4.111 * 1000) / 315 ) = 482.72Nm that seems reasonable to me - based on seat of the pants experiance
  4. found another formula T = (9.545 * Power in watts) / RPM so I get T = ( 9.545 * (291.7awkw * 1000) / 6500RPM = 428Nm A more realistic result - but I still have ZERO idea is this is even in the ball park. A std GenIII V8 reports 475Nm with 255kw and the New Gen4 GTO reports 530Nm with 297kw (these will be @ the engine numbers tho )
  5. OK according to http://www.jbskyline.net/R32/GTR/Specs/ final drive is 4.111 and std torque is 360Nm @ 4400rpm If I run the numbers I still get 3172Nm (way too much) - is this a bogus formula or what ?
  6. Hmm I don't think she's that strong any other input - have we missed something ? what's a std GTR deliver in terms of torque anyway ?
  7. OK boys and girls - I have a math quiz for you all I have just had a power run done on my R32 GTR and have a reading for tractive effort, and I want to convert that to an approximate torque figure (Nm) from the following web site http://www.webster-inst.com/techinfo/equat...eqnfr/eqn17.htm we see that the tractive effort is obtained by multiplying the torque by the total ratio of power the train and dividing this sum by the rolling radius of the driving tyres. (easy) TE = (T * R * 1000) / r where T= Motor torque in kg/millimetres (the number I wish to calculate) R = Overall gear reduction including both axle and transmission (NFI) r = Rolling radius of loaded driving tyre in millimetres (measure) So in my example, I have a measured TE of 6300 newtons – based on the output of the power run on a 4 wheel dyno. BUT I do not know R or r Any idea what the overall gear reduction is in an R32 GTR in 4th gear. Any idea how a can obtain an accurate measure of the rolling radius of my wheel. I have 235/45/17s (with a tape measure I get 2070mm ?) come on guys – I'm sure this must have been covered before
  8. OK I did mine too - and yes it was MUCH quicker and it was very easy to do (only took 2 mins) BUT I only did it once I had resigned myself to a full rebuild anyway - and my motor only lasted 6 months after doing it. My motor was already shagged tho - and may not have lasted too long anyway. Turbos were fine however. I don't know about 1.8 bar (26psi) however on std turbos – I would not even push my N1s that hard – I would have thought 1.3 (18psi) was already too high. The REAL problem is - at std boost even a GTR can feel a bit on the sluggish side – IMHO Full rebuild is now complete – car running MUCH better with 300awkw hope this helps
  9. how old how many ks what condition how hard are they to fit and adjust can I use std springs
  10. what are u using for boost control - EBC or bleed valve or other ?
  11. have you also considered getting a leak down test done - easy and cheap to get done. Any work shop should be able to do this for you. This will show more problems than a comp test only IMHO Agree - consistency across all pots is the thing to look for HtH
  12. check you PM
  13. is it still for sale - well sort of I have an offer for $120 ATM A guys is picking it up this Sunday - but it's Sunday yet - if you know what I mean. IE he ?may? not show up I'm on the south side of Brisbane BTW
  14. did that been for sale for a while now (2 weeks) - and I've listed it on eBay now too so I'd like to know what it fits
  15. what about R32/R33 gtst ?
  16. Guys I have an R32 GTR fuel pump up for sale - and I need to know what other cars will it fit / is it a suitable upgrade for where to old GTR pumps go ?
  17. bump now listed on eBay - but I'll still sell it from here check out http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...item=4559147061 thanks Sk for the graph
  18. great news - I DO have a good story about these turbos I was lucky enough to discover they are crap before buying one Sorry - couldn't resist
  19. Agree – I don't think the std injectors/AFMs/turbos will push that much power I have 293awkw from my RB26 but I have Tomei fuel pump SX fuel reg R34 N1 turbos PFC with EBC and a bunch of the other std mods (big exhaust and dumps etc etc) I can tell you that I am right on the limit of the std injectors and AFMs (the peak hold function on the PFC tells me so) Also, I don't get this power until I push to 18psi (1.2bar) which is more than the std turbos will safely sustain AFAIK I'm not sure how much difference the RB30 bottom end will make – others may be able to comment on that
  20. OK - so now I'm confused - this is the thread I was after. I did not search for N 'dash' 1 (N-1) So - are they different or not ?
  21. Sooo any idea if this would work with larger AFMs (could it be modified) ? or should I just get something like the UAS Carbon air box @ http://www.nismo.com.au
  22. if it works - it's fine by me (and it works BTW)
  23. yep - that's it - had it for about 3 weeks now and it's much better that the Motul (which I only had for about a month - it was THAT bad)
  24. already have the RB25 AFMs Nengun price is only $530 delivered for the ARC airbox -- which is about the same as the Apexi suction kit for Z32s (also 80mm yes ?) would the Nismo AFMs be a reasonable upgrade for my R32 GTR - IE flow more - or is it just voltage resolution I need.
  25. Hey BB (sorry for the high-jack) where did you get the ARC airbox from and do you have any pics. I have HKS pods ATM - but I'm getting concerned about under bonnet temps (steam off the bonnet on rainy days is a give away). I'd like to get some sort of cold air intake happening - and I'm assuming a closed off airbox with some piping from the front bar will be the way to go I also need to fit a pair of RB25 (80mm?) AFMs – will the ARC airbox work for that too ?
