  1. neo32 I also have a R32 GTR - and I had a similar problem( I think) Try a 4 way wheel alignment (I took mine to a WRX guy here in Brisbane) My rear passenger wheel was out by a MILE – even tho I supposedly had a 4 way alignment from one of the 'mainstream' guys only a few month b4 (no names) Also - check that your HICAS is working - I've herd stories about guys pulling the bulb out of the dash so you don't see the warning light come on. HtH
  2. OohArrGtr check the serial number (from above post) - if they are R34s - then they should be good for 600+ hp on your GTR. I have just had a pair fitted - waiting to run in the new bottom end. BTW - nismo.com.au list them as 320hp and are selling the pair for $4K + I think
  3. ricknismo have a look thu this post of mine from a week or so ago includes part numbers for N1s and lots of good info on how much boost they can take etc HtH http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=62632
  4. any idea how much to fix the one with the leak ? how old are they - how many ks ?
  5. is the Mines Centre 3 gauge Cluster a direct swap for an R32 GTR ? same plugs etc
  6. GTSpec firstly let me just say that I am just finishing a FULL rebuild of my R32 (also 89 model) - I opted to upgrade the turbos, and managed to pick up a pair of N1s off an R34 for about $2k. For more details on what I have actually done have a look at ... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=62632 I did a full rebuild using Forged pistons, N1 bearings, polished – balanced – linished – shot peened everything. N1 water + N1 Oil – and did some porting work up top. I also added a pair on non-turbulence dump pipes (already have front pipe and exhaust), full metal gasket kit from Tomei and replaced anything else that move and is attached to the block. These engines are 15 years old after all. I can CONFIRM that all up including parts and labor – you are looking at a LAZY $10K, not including the turbos ('cause I already had them). I sourced parts myself, both 2nd hand, from eBay and through some contacts at Nissan – but the labor charge alone is more than half the total bill. Brace yourself – I though I had budgeted for everything – but I still blew out by a good couple of grand The good news is that as a result of the feed back I have received from my earlier post, I'm expecting a solid 250-280awkw with std injectors and fuel pump. My solution is a little over engineered for this much power, but it allows me to add injectors/044/bigger FMIC and PFC down the track and push up into the 300+awks with the peace of mind that the base engine will tolerate that much power. My thoughts are – do it now if you can afford it – I would not want to pay to rebuild this thing twice.
  7. have a look at http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=62632 I posted the part number for R34 N1s HtH
  8. All got quotes from Nissan 2day - and I'm looking at ~$900 for kits to reco all 4 callipers and the master cyl does that sound right ?
  9. well thanks for that - I was hoping for something a LITTLE more economical !! I KNOW that this what I 'should' be doing – and to be honest I will keep my eyes / ears open for some Brembos or similar over the next few months – but I was looking for something short term and not too expensive. A full overhaul on my existing system with new pads is probably a good place to start. Does anyone know exactly what is involved with the Supra rotor solution (see the post above) ? Is there a kit (part number?) that I can get – or are the rotors on my GTR already similar to the Supra anyway. Do we have some recommendations for after market solutions (DBAs?)
  10. Thanks for that - should be able to do all of that myself
  11. BOOMAU I'd start by getting your current engine checked out - get a compression / leak down test done FIRST. Maybe even a power run on a dyno (should only cost you $120 or so) That way you will have a better idea of the health of your bottom end, and the engine in general. Then start to tweak things up. just one mans opinion
  12. OK Let me just start by saying that I believe that there is no such thing as a silly question so here goes After a full engine rebuild (see my N1 Turbo post) – I'm about to add somewhere in the vicinity of 100awkw to my R32 GTR (much happiness). Having added so much go – I figure I should also add some whoa I have a std R32 GTR (no brembos – bugger !!) and I'm after some suggestions (keep them clean) for a break upgrade that does not also break the bank. I realize that my R32 has some reasonable stoppers (for it's day), but by modern standards, and with 300kw @ the street, I think I need some more comfort factor. (all flames should be directed to /dev/null) What options do I have ? - can I get something bigger from new R33/R34 models, what about GTSTs etc Also – I'm currently running 'competition' pads – that I am told do not heat up enough during day to day driving – can I also get some recommendations for new pads. NB – I'm a computer geek – not a mechanic – so any resemblance to the facts are purely coincidental.
  13. Hey Morgs I know you can get the std R32 crank nose modified for about $25. I think it needs to be out of the engine tho
  14. All I'm looking for recommendations for someone to install and tune an Apexi PCF in my R32 GTR - in Brisbane (obvious !!) I've just had a full rebuild done – and will hopefully be getting hold of a PCF in the next few months talk to me people - can I get some good and bad feedback from those that have gone b4 me PLEASE
  15. I'm not too sure how IMPORTANT it is with these cars - but I have had other turbo cars in the past with hard piping kits installed - and I think it's just the done thing. I can anyone else tell me WHY I think this way
  16. Cool my engine is now BRAND NEW - I've gone with a fully forged bottom end, N1 water + oil, N1 bearings etc - just to be on the safe side (it's only money after all !!!) did you upgrade your fuel pump what other mods have you done what sort of power are you getting most importantly - you does your tuning - can my guy (Brisbane) talk to your guy ??? talk to me !!!
  17. how much did the it co$t
  18. Guys thanks HEAPS for all the feed back and comments – it looks to me like I should easily get the power I'm looking for (and more). Just to clear things up - I agree the 700cc (or similar) are the way to go (even tho the 550cc would probably be enough) - the price difference between 550cc and 700cc is not that much (according to Nengun anyway) - so OVER SIZED injectors makes sense to me (as long as I can get reasonable bottom end tune – had not thought of that) One other thing - I can confirm that the ex housing is .64 ('cause it's stamped on the housing) but I can't see anything on the compressor housing. Does anyone have the specs on the 'other' N1s. I'd like to confirm I have what I think I have. I also agree that these should be a very good street turbo – they better be 'cause that's why I bought them The part number is : 14411AA403 if that helps (series 3 N1s AFAIK) – it MUST be true the guys at Nissan told me so
  19. Well - I'm back to .... give me 6 months and I will let you know
  20. so was wxrhoons N1 SS/BB (R34s) or not ?
  21. how do I convert from ps to hp or kw ?
  22. thanks guys - this is good info my N1s are defiantly from an R34 - and are the Steel Wheeled BB type AFAIK the stats for them are as follows .64 A/R ex (I think) 76 Trim compressor is .60 I'm not expecting much lagggggg from these supposed to be rated at 320hp each so does that mean 2x320 = 640hp for me 640hp = ~480kw yes ? corrections welcome
  23. Hi again could be interested in this too (see your AFM post) - $950 is too much tho - can get NEw from Nengun for that
  24. Hey - you still got these ? I'm keen
  25. Well - give me 6 months or so - and I will let you know
