  1. Yep - I noticed a delta between the AFM readings last night (more than 10%) - which is what made me have a look if the Apexi power intake is $400 - I'd expect the std Nissan part to be half that anyway
  2. sorry guys should have said - the guys that fixed the air con are more than happy to fix what they have done. They have even offered me a loaner car for the day/days I was just checking things over to see if it was smething obvious to be honest - I'm not even sure that these guys even touched that pipe
  3. Guys/Gals I had some work done on my R32 GTR a week or so ago (air cond repaired), and since I've had the car back I've had problems holding boost and getting the car to rev past about 4500rpm (miss fire and just generally struggling to get revs up). Will not boost past .5 bar, feels like an AFM - but I know they a good. Anyway - I think I have tracked down the problem It looks like when they removed and refit the flexible intake pipe between the rear turbo and the AFM, that they have mangled the bottom connection. I've just removed it to discover that the bottom of the pipe has been rolled over under itself and then clamped down. This has deformed the rubber - and has been leaking once I start to build some boost (at a guess) My question is – would a leak here be causing the problem described ? And if so - where can I get a replacement - I recall seeing a GB for a hard pipe to replace this a while ago, but I can't seem to find that now If anyone has one of these lying around – I'm probably interested in buying from you I've attached a pic of the pipe that I'm talking about just to be clear
  4. OK - I can take a hit - I'm off to eBay
  5. pps I have a used (worn) OS Giken twin plate clutch just removed from my R32 GTR the only reason I did not keep it was that I could not have my car off the road while it was being rebuilt, so I bought a new one needs rebuild (obviously) - but otherwise all OK I've got ZERO idea how much this is worth - the guys at direct clutch here in Brisbane can rebuild it for about $800, and said I should expect about $400 for it So - $1200 for a new twin plate OS Giken sounds like a deal to me I will sell as-is for ~$400 it's heavy – but I'll send anywhere at buyers expense offers ???
  6. OK pps I finally got round to having my air con fix in my R32 GTR this week. The guys from Sterling Auto Electric have done a great job – and the climate control now works perfectly It cost me ~$1200, but they have replaced / reco-ed almost everything (TX valve included) BUT I seems that they have missed something when putting things back together. Now, once I get past ~4000rpm and start to come on boost (.4 bar) the car starts to miss, lurch and does now have any power (not happy Jan) I spoke to the guys @ Sterling, and they are happy to have a look at this on Monday – but I'm looking for some pointers on what I could be. I guessing they have missed a vacuum line / or possible part of the FMIC piping ???? TALK TO ME What will they have touched when removing / reinstalling the air cond compressor ?
  7. no probs it was just over $1200
  8. OK - got the car back today (had the clutch done too - so it took a while) Now - the air con is GREAT - very cold. BUT I think they must have missed somthing during the reassembly stage When I push the car past ~4000rpm - I get no power, missing and just generally bad things start to happen. I spoke to Roger and they are happy to have a look on Monday - but can anyone give me some pointers in term sof what I could look for feels like a MAJOR air leak to me ??? what will they have touched to remove and relace the comprsssor ?
  9. Hi can I get pics and a history for the HKS coilover sent to [email protected]
  10. thanks for the advice - but I had that replaced as part of a full engine rebild about 12 months ago. I did not think to rebuild the air cond compressor then tho car is already with the sparkys - should get it back on Monday - better than new apparently Got them to install relays for my dull headlights at the same time
  11. thanks guys I'll talk to Roger again today and book in to get it fixed TY Scott
  12. OK pps – I'm sure I have posted this b4 – but my air condition finally full on DIED today, and I need an update on this info ASAP I have an R32 GTR – and I'm pretty sure that my compressor went to a better place today (much sadness). I still get 'some' cold air – but I get a VERY loud bearing type noise (rattle) whenever the air cond is running this is can't hear the stereo LOUD, I mean too embarrassed to sit at the traffic lights LOUD (even in Brisbane heat) So – my questions are ..... 1: where do I go for a new /replacement compressor. I spoke to Nissan and they quoted $1309+GST for a new one. I tried to explain that I did not need the gold plated one – but I was unable to convince them this was a silly price. I don't think I'll going that way any time soon. I then spoke to Roger @ Sterling Auto Electrics (the go-to auto electrician for GTRs in Brisbane so I' m told) and they quoted about $990-$1200 for a remove, recondition and replace (includes full service of the climate control with gas etc). He told me that the compressor failing was probably because the TC valve was also broken (obviously ??). So this price also includes a check / reco of the TC valve (tape under dash that controls air into the cabin but also oil to the compressor apparently) 2: Who else in Brisbane can fix this for me ? 3: Anyone know what 'other' compressors fit an R32 GTR with climate control – Nissan seemed to think that R32 /R33 GTR and GTST are all the same, but Sterling Auto Elec said they are all different. 4 Can someone give me some guidance on how much time (number of hours) that is should take to remove and replace the compressor ? To be honest – at this point the recondition service from Sterling seems to be the best option – but it's still over $1K. Roger seemed to know what he was on about, talked me thru the shelf diag functions and seemed to know the GTR quite well – but I'm easily fooled So I'm open to other suggestions.
  13. seems like a lot of IFs in that post how difficult is it to remove the g-box ? If I get my mechanic to do it - how many hours ?
  14. thanks BB just checked - the slave cylinder seems to be a push type to me I am happy with the current clutch - but if I can get a better fly / clutch / presure plate setup for the same cost as a rebuild - I'd consider it I'm guessing that a rebuild should be around the $1200 mark - is that a fair guess ?
  15. OK guys and gals I have an R32 GTR with a twin plate clutch that is in need of repair / replace. It has not started to slip yet, but I get some serious groaning sounds when at the balance point, and the clutch only needs to be pressed about an inch for it to disengage (which I understand can be adjusted – yes ?) So ..... I have a few questions. I do not know the make/model of the current twin plate as it was in the car when I got it just over 2 years ago. 1: It's an '89 R32 GTR – so how do I find out if it's a push or pull. Could it have been converted. (apologies in advance if this is a silly question ) 2: Should I reco the exiting twin plate or replace it with a conventional single plate clutch. The car is a daily driver – currently seeing about 300awkw. My current thinking is to swap over to a single plate to make the car a little easier in traffic (as long as it can take the stress) and sell the twin plate on the forum. I'm open to suggestions and recommendations here pps
  16. i normally do at least a power run every 6 months or so - just to check (R32 GTR with ~300awkw) it's only $120 - which is way cheaper that a new bottom end
  17. price too pls and why are u sellin ?
  18. I have my O2 sensors off - also have ~270atw with splitfires and copper plugs same firmware
  19. it's actually a computer virus I have written for the PFC - that is spread by reading this tread
  20. I think it just needs a good clean earth
