  1. Should have added an "Any of the above" option for all of them, as I'm only really fussed about the date...

ah crap nice call .... yes I definitely won't be missing Schitzenfaced! We should do an SAU meet-up again this year (the last 2 years have been awesome) - I might make a new post!
Hell yeah, you know I'm there, shame I can't be as lecherous this year now I have missus, unless... hahaha!

Make that post as a lot of people will disappear over xmas / new year and it'll end up organised in a rush if you wait til afterwards.

  2. Given your budget & intended use for the car a mildly modified WRX would be more than adequate; or a GTS-4 with nitrous  ...just don't be blowing the welds off the intake :D

    Also, as the joke goes whats the difference between a 300kw Supra & a 600kw one??...Nothing they're still both 11sec cars :)

Nigel from ICE (in Melbourne) always tuned his Supra (orange one with black bonnet) to/from about those figures, one for the dyno pull, the other for the track as from what i understand it made little or no difference to his times.

  3. You can view all the flavours of Supra (not to mention almost any other JDM vehicle) here:

IMHO they're a great car in a straight line, not so great in the bends, and you can't fault the 2JZGTE, beauty of an engine.

Makes you wonder why the RB26DETT never got variable valve timing when you look at those torque figures.

    450 Nm @ 3600 RPM vs. 390 Nm @ 4400 RPM

There's more than just 400cc extra displacement at play there.

  4. Certainly can get them for that price, the market's flooded atm, but it wont be one in great condition or with a verifiable history.

Make sure you have a few $K in the war chest for "Justin".

As for verifying it's genuine, i haven't heard of any fakes per se, but grab the VIN and ask someone to run it thru FAST which is a Nissan piece of software. Many members have a copy and there's a consolidated thread for such requests around here somewhere.

  5. Thanks for the link Ash, works pretty well. Should have some up tomorrow, I'm going to bed now ;)

The auto stitching thing i have doesn't like cars, especially when they are a similar shape, I ended up with a car that was half grey, half yellow!

Yeah, I've been playing with that app since i posted the link, and it's an impressive piece of kit but falls over if you throw too much at it esp. in full res mode. Needs plenty of memory too.

Edit: In fact here's a low res panorama constructed from the images posted thus far.
