  1. Regarding the V35 GT-R, it's interesting to see Cosworth are helping with engine, and Lotus with susp. Kinda sad really, shows they obviously lost some talented engineers during the troubled late 90's / early 00's.

And the questions over 4WD too, i understand why it may not be strictly necessary, but is it GT-R if RWD?

  2. Just been looking at my broken box at the mechanics less than an hour ago.

Okay, my reverse selector fork broke, leaving the gear to float back and forth, chipping teeth and sending them floating about and gunking up the works.

The hardening on all the other gears was chipping away.

The input bearing and another one were also shot.

  3. To use a Bunnings Special (read: cheapo) hole saw on metal you need a decent, but most importantly, a variable speed, drill. Do it slowly with plenty of pressure to grind it down, doing it fast just makes it skip about, and wear the saw teeth out and smoke a lot. :D

And after cutting my hole i broke out the ball hammer, and folded a lip over all the way around, so no sharp edges to damage the hosing. Oh and gave it a few coats of black spray paint too.

But next car I'm planning on getting a piping kit that folds back on itself, and goes up thru the stock location, I know the flow isn't as good but atleast it's 100% reversible.

  4. Well I go it taken down to Rowle & Searle, they've had it out and inspected it, as i guessed "it's cactus".

They reckon when I lost reverse it sent a collar or some such floating back and forth, lost some teeth, created some more metal floaties, and the fun ensued from there.

A rebuild wouldn't be cost-effective, so now i'm in the market for a decent 2nd hand jobbie.

  5. Darren: I could handle Wayville/Unley as a locale but everything halfway decent around there is tres pricey!

Duc: Is it a UniSA Share?

I saw one of their houses online and it looked like it'd been purpose built to hold as many cattle, oops i mean students, as possible. Not my thing really. :pwned:

But I'd appreciate what details you can get.

  6. Thanks for the offer Brendan. :D

To be honest, I do have one place lined up, and I'd be fine living there but it'd be a bit cramped so I'm throwing it out there to see if anything better pops up.

Oh and I probably should have put a date on it. I need a place by no later than 31st May.

  7. Hey Peoples,

My housemate is moving back to Queensland, so I'm in need of a place to live, so if you, or someone you know, is looking for an additional person to move in, please let me know.

I'm after somewhere no further South than the city, so lets say North of Greenhill Rd, and not much further North than where i work, Mawson Lakes.

I need a room that can at least fit a Queen-sized bed and some hanging space. Other than that i don't have much gear, just a TV & Stereo really, but I'm willing to go out and buy some whitegoods etc. to bring to the party if thats what the house needs.

    Cheers,

    - Ash.

  8. Yellowpages threw up 3 places within easy limping distance, any further and I'll prolly need a tow truck (which I'm willing to do if necessary), so does anyone have experiences with these joints?

  9. so that was your car. Radiator hoses are going to be expensive around $1200, so i still need to decide wether i am going to get a different skyline before summer

That's BS, it's a piss easy job, and their's no way the parts cost that much. You can get a guchi Sard hard rad piping kit for half that amount.
