  1. Well I can add 10kW with a sticker! I've always used Shell Helix Ultra 5w-40 to good effect. Which reminds me, I need to do an oil change on it...
  2. Reckon me and missus should be there, about time I turned up to one of these and met a few new peoples, hopefully by car will be back on the road by then else it'll be the Excel FTW!
  3. Handling for me, but it's gotta have the power to need tight handling, quick and nimble FTW. Funnily enough I *may* be in the market for a new car soon after a P Plater in a Kingswood decided to "dance" with me on the weekend. Edit: No one was hurt and all that.
  4. I had the fuel return hose go on me, little of smell, then starting pissing fuel on the deck at the servo as I was idling waiting for the tyre air. 1 metre of SuperCheap hose, a couple new hose clamps for good measure, and 30 mins of work it was all better. Definitely not a $300 job unless metal lines themselves are damaged.
  5. Correct me if I'm wrong but the reason we're waiting on the GT-R is it hasn't ticked over its 18 month birthday to be eligible as a second-hand vehicle.
  6. Ouch! I saw a White Stag in Oakden around lunch time but was preoccupied and didn't think to take a 2nd look, but doesn't sound like it was this one. Condolences mate.

    Bike

Motorbike? Pushbike? The Town Bike? For the motored type: OCAU.mc and Netrider have active SA members, the later meet regularly at Scoozi (Tues nights?) but never been myself.
  8. Stick with stock, but just don't put a stoopid hard clutch in and your gearbox will thank you, think of your clutch like a "fuse". Remember it's far cheaper and easier to replace a burnt-out clutch than a lunched gearbox.
  9. It's a taller gear, it'd be like taking off from the lights half way between 1st and 2nd gear, more clutch slipping so not good in stop start driving but a more usable gear in low-speed corner on the race track where a road 1st would be way too low. Shadex you still haven't mentioned what you intend to do with this car, is it a tough streeter, dedicated drag or track weapon?
  10. With a 2.7 vs. 3.2 1st gear ratio you're gonna loose driveability in the slow stuff but it really comes down to what you wanna do with your car.
  11. 10 discs! Sure you were using cutting and not grinding discs? But glad it's worked out for you.
  12. Sure it'll slow them down a little, but it doesn't take very long to swap a fuse back over, a good quality alarm with multi-point immobiliser; insurance; and being careful when/where you park it are all you can do. Shit if they really want your car it'll end up on the back of a tilt-tray and there's nothing you can do to stop that.
  13. This sensor in the front bar on R32's, I've never seen it and my bar has been on and off more times tha i care to remember. Where is it?
  14. Mine was/is a manual, they said they do them, but only have one or two guys for it as they're mostly auto's.
  15. Give Rowell & Searle in Pulteney St a call. They took a look at my gearbox when it shat itself, offered to rebuild it but suggested I look at the cost of a replacement, being RB20 gear it was cheaper to go that way.
  16. I did the DECA motorkhana with the SAU Vic boys in my mate's GTR, and it was one hell of a fun day, I'm in Joel.
  17. MSPaint is a bit crap. Grab Irfanview, you can even do batch processing pretty simply, great for scaling down a heap of images in a hurry. Plus it's FREE.
  18. Other than weight there's not really any downsides to using overkill sized wire. Why not use something a little more sensibly sized and used to the existing chunky wire as your draw cable? i.e. Tape the new wire to old, and pull it thru.
  19. Have you tried putting the Climate Control Unit in to its diagnostic mode? I can't remember the details how, but there's a tutorial on it in the appropriate DIY forum.
  20. Any decent TV/VCR repair shop should be able to knock that over no worries.
  21. A better idea might be have a look under the car at the speedo sender on the gearbox and see it's loose or if the wiring is damaged?
  22. Yeah, the bolts line up just fine, pick-up / baffles are the issue as I said. Far easier to do the chop job IMHO but obviously not as pretty to look at.
  23. Umm... that doesn't work. The oil pickups are in completely different places and foul on the sump baffles.
  24. Mate just cut the diff housing off the RB26 sump when we put it in his R32 GTST. If it looks anything like the below you should be fine to do the same, just be careful about it, ole "measure twice, cut once" adage definitely applies here. http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/oosh/rb26g...%20-%20Sump.jpg http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/oosh/rb26g...ff%20Casing.jpg http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/oosh/rb26g...amp;%20Bits.jpg http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/oosh/rb26g...pped%20Sump.jpg
  25. So, by reading that, I see the closest we got to a SAU representative is someone's Datsun?
