If it don't get the car out there I'll definately be there for the drinking, see if you can get Rowdy over too Roy, lying bastard said he'd come visit me.
-
Brew it yourself, it's not hard, and you can make it with as much "balls" as you like!I got the stock side ones kicking around, but i am still using the stock front ones. They stopped making two dogs like 4 years ago rumour has it... but if yo search hard you can still find it
-
Can you do me a favour and measure your head around, just above your eye brows and the tips of your ears, working on the assumption it fits you comfortably it'll give me a good idea if it's worth my while coming and checking it out.
Cheers,
- Ash.
P.S. Where abouts in SA are you (if Adelaide what suburb)?
-
It's more about reliability at sustained high revs i believe, do a search for some of Roy's posts regarding this, or he might just find his way in here if you're lucky! So what % flow benefits does the N1 oil and water pumps add over the normal ones, besides costing more? -
Gearbox wise it depends what you're planning on doing to the car, I know first-hand RowdyR32 had a 220+RWKW RB26 in front of a stock RB20DET g/b, he wasn't habitually doing hard/drag style launches in it, but did do several track days, and it held up fine.
I would definately get a heavier clutch though, doesn't need to be anything fancy, just a heavy-duty organic. i.e. Daikin.

Apologies if this has been posted already, but came across this on OCAU and thought I'd share

BTW: T56 = gearbox not a Trust turbo.

Grab the ones you have, and head out to your local bolt specialist, i.e. if your in Adelaide try Coventry Fasteners.

Most large libraries should keep copies of all the major rags, make a few calls, is there an Adelaide city library or something like that (i only know Melbournes).can u scan the artivle, or know where i can get a copy? -
It's shaping up like I'll be kicking around Autosalon some time after lunch on Sat.
If anyone finds themselves there at the same time and you have my number gimem a bell if you want to say hi!
-
Just make one yourself out of 10W ceramic resistors from Jaycar, i can't remember the exact resisance value but do a search and find out, failing that PM RowdyR32 he successfully made and used one.
-
Well my housemate and I are planning to go, which day i dunno, but if anything gets organised by COB tm i'll try and get there.
Cheers,
- Ash.
-
If you want to organise it for more than a couple of people, then i suggest you plan little further ahead than this weekend, although if you want to scout the route go for it.
Plus the Autosalon is on this weekend, it's all wank i know, but i think i'll have to go check it out, so don't make choose, it's not fair, just don't do it to me!
-
RB20DET auto and manual ones are different, i got mine directly from Nissan, didn't cost a great deal.
Getting the old one out was a real bastard job though, thankfully RowdyR32 did it for me, like the majority of the work on my engine swap!
If you haven't got it out already and have dramas I got given plenty of good help/suggestions here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=55955

This may seem like the a silly question at first, but humour me...
Despite these low readings does the car feel any different to drive (i.e. sluggish) ???
If not then it could just be a problem with the gauge, i once caused a kink in the hard plastic line under my dash while sorting out some wiring, all my manifold pressure readings were low and had me real worried til i worked it out.
It was badly kinked, so straightening it out again only partially helped, so i cut the affected area out and re-joined it with some silicon hose.

Start an EOI thread, i missed the last one unfortunately, I'd be up for it.I'm happy to organize one if there are enough people interested. -
I reckon i might be, TTP is just up the road, any other feloow SAU-ers?

New URL Format: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=78475
Can you either force it to use the old URL format, or set it up so both work, that way all the posts that say "see this thread" etc. will work again.
Cheers,
- Ash.

Puts my stuff to shame, there's some good shots here: http://www.users.on.net/~sharms/rallysa/

Spotted: Silver R32 Sedan missing its front bar, was on the back on a flatbed turning in to Mullers Rd (Hampstead Gardens), possibly heading to Tilbrooks or one of the repairers around there?

Bummer, shame we missed you, who are you with, as I had pretty reasonable coverage from Telstra GSM at the track?Hi guys,My rally plans were changed on Friday afternoon when the master cylinder on the clutch went at Southgate shopping centre. Lots of V8 drivers smiled/laughed as my beloved GTR was towed away. Anyway still made it to the rally in a mates car, saw Andrew's S15 in the car park and a few skylines but didn't see you guys at the track. Tried to call Ash but had no mobile coverage. Hung around to 4:30. Was freezing all day and got sunburnt... at least the fires were toasty. Great day topped off by going to the drifting yesterday where I saw heaps of skylines in the carpark (and two on the track).
