  4. And i need to learn that drifting all the corners isn't a race winning strategy. Bloody good fun though!
  5. Yeap you just unbolt all the stuff and bolt the RB25 turbo on in its place. Just need to make sure all the oil and water fittings are secure and replace the gaskets (or goop em up) if necessary. They're not as good as a 2510 or 2530 bolted on there but a hell of a lot cheaper.
  6. how fubar'd was the car, you could always opt. to keep the wreck, you'll get less money and it's a bit of mucking about but you usually come out on top.
  7. Hey Gaz, was gonna call you on the weekend, but what's news with the car?
  8. Well a GTR has two smaller turbos, GTST one larger turbo, if you bolted a single GTR turbo to a GTST (which you can NOT do without an adaptor plate) you'd be getting HALF the "puff" of a GTR so you'd end up with LESS power (esp. on a RB25). You *COULD* twin-turbo a RB20 or RB25 GTST but it's not as simple as bolting the GTR exhaust manifold to the engine, and then there's all the other plumbing complexities, making it hardly a worthwhile venture. If you're after a cheap and simple RB20 upgrade then bolt a 2nd hand RB25 turbo on.
  9. Engine model 1JZ-GTE RB25DET Displacement 2491 2498 Max.power (Net), 205.94 kw / 6200 rpm 183.88 kw / 6400 rpm Max.torque(Net), 362.85 Nm / 4800 rpm 294.20 Nm / 4800 rpm Compression ratio 8.5 9 Bore, mm 86 86 Stroke, mm 71.5 71.7 Well in stock guise the 1JZ is the more powerful motor by a reasonable margin, but slap the same turbo setup on them and the RB25 might just pull away since it has the higher compression ratio, but how about your friends stop comparing penis sizes and get on and fit the turbos so we can all see the results!
  10. I'm due for a change, wont happen this weekend but probably next, and I'm think I *might* give it a go. I'd rather not buy a Ryco so only if there's a better brand offering Z386 equivilants.
  11. Usually this place: http://english.auto.vl.ru/catalog/nissan/cefiro/ has most of the info. you could want but they don't list ANYTHING with a RB24, bummer... maybe just drop ~$50 on a power run on the dyno for curiosties sake.
  12. Musta changed it, because the only one i see the same now is the interior shot showing steering wheel, etc. Edit: Yeap, says: "Last Updated 18-APR-2005", dodgy bastardo...

    wheels

When do you need them? I might be able to help you out...
  14. He asked when someone else rights off your car, under the law you are entitled to the FULL replacement cost of your vehicle, however it's not always that simple to get the money. If you have comprehensive insurance then all you need do is hand it over to your insurance company and they go in to bat for you, to either reclaim the expensive from the offending party's insurance company, or from their personal estate if they were uninsured or not covered (e.g. drink driving voids insurance cover). The second often gets messy, people wanting to pay $10 a week, and often ends in the courts. One good thing to remember is even if someone is over 18 there are grounds to reclaim costs from their parents IF they are still living at home and at least partially dependant. If you don't have comprehensive cover (i.e. 3rd Party), then some companies will look after you, others will leave you to fight the battle for yourself. If you have no insurance then you're all alone too. That means you have to get a letter of demand issued, etc, etc. If you do get stuck alone you should really consider seeking legal advice because it's all too easy to get screwed by the other party or their insurance company.
  15. Anyways reading through the thread now it seems they may have the people responsible.
  16. There's a good thread by Cubes here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=55103
  17. Ryco website lists Z418 as the applicable filter for Supras... But, this site lists their HD-05 product as a repalcement for all of these Rycos: Z82,Z125,Z145A,Z158,Z386,Z418, so they'd all fit, whether they're all up to the task is another matter...
  18. RB25DET NEO's use a different one, the same as GTiR's i believe. Edit: Here it is, NEO's use Z442
  19. For that much they'd want to be some pretty damned good tyres, I suggest you shop around, you should be able to get good (not excellent) rubber for half that amount. The Hankook Ventus K104's seem to have a good rep. as bargain quality tyres and people are picking up 235/45/17 for around $180.
  20. There's SOOO many threads on this so go for a search. But IMHO forget you should about a pod, upgarde the panel filter if you really must. A 3" cat-back at the minimum, 3" front-pipe if you want a bit more, and maybe a larger dump if you intend to take things further later on. Then a FMIC. Then you can put a little more boost thru it. That should get you started.
  21. They will fit, as in bolt on, but they're no good as the offsets will be all wrong.
  22. Well I'm going up with a couple of guys from work and anyone is welcome to join us, just send me a PM before COB Friday (as i don't have net access from home), And i'll give you my mobile number and we can tee something up. Cheers, - Ash.
  23. I have 225/50/16 on my stock R32 GTST rims. GTR rims are no good for GTSTs as the offset is incorrect.
