  1. I know them, I've just moved to Adelaide but met up with some SAU locals and gave me the strong impression nobody over here does re-maps, are you 100% positive it came from there? Cheers.
  2. Are you testing the fluid level when it's hot and the car is RUNNING. I can only compare to my old VP but i had auto troubles, fluid level looked fine but I was checking it when the car was switched off, as soon as i did while it was running the dipstick came out DRY! Turned out the pipes to the trans cooler where cracked and leaking (the power steering was leaking too so i thought all the dropped fluid was from that) after replacing them and top up it was right as rain.
  3. Do you know who did the chip, is it a DrDrift one from Melbourne, or something different?
  4. Had to be a LHS indicator when i could do with a RHS one. bah!
  5. Either the pickup at the gearbox or the cable at the back of the instrument cluster coudl have a problem.
  6. Thanks for that info, +35 all round, OK could i get what suburb in Melbourne you're in too mate?
  7. Hey Inark, Couple of Q's, where abouts in Melbourne are you, and could you measure the offset please? Cheers.
  8. I can shed some light on it since i bought the thing, it was out of his hands and in to mine when it let go, but i knew it was f@rked and paid accordingly. Ben you need to have stern words with who ever touched your cam belt last, it'd been put back on a whole 2 teeth out, and the chance of it jumping teeth by itself is slim. Once that was rectified it actually compression tested up reasonably well but it'd done a big end bearing on #1 cylinder so we just ripped out the engine and replaced it (60-80K engine but who knows with wreckers?). If you're interested mate your old beast now has nice FMIC and Electronic Boost Controller only pushing 12psi but will wind it up some on the dyno next month. So far its been good to me and did Melb - Adel trip no worries. Good luck with your Ceffy mate.
  9. Speaking of O2 sensors what are their normal voltage characteristics? I have a Impakt DigiDash and the voltage seems to jump about a fair bit at idle but not know what's normal i can't draw any conclusions from it. I do have a quite bad miss @ idle, I've swapped coils for known good ones, igniter box too, I also get some surge under load too but i think that'll be fixed by gapping the plugs down to 0.7m (0.8m atm). Cheers.
  10. There's an old (over 5 years) Autospeed article about these: http://www.autospeed.com/cms/A_0401/article.html And i started a rather short-lived thread about it: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=56688 I'd be certainly interested to see how these perform when tested independantly.
  11. Wheels gone... sheez, oh well. For $2K musta been some good rubber on there. Can you get pics of the strut-braces and where abouts in Adelaide are you? Cheers. - Ash.
  12. Yeah the one in my R32 GTST sedan doesn't sit right, I know the previous owner had it out a few times, I just haven't got round to sorting it out since I don't sit in the back so don't really care!
  13. His is the Gunmental one, GTR wing and front bar (with paint missing), mis-matched rims (white LMGT4's on rear), and going by the pictures he finally got round to hacking up his spare bonnet with vents crazy dorifto style. Gaz mate, sorry i didn't get back to your SMS I was in the middle of summin and forgot about it until i saw this post, bad luck with the car though. Are you gonna skip the Easter trip up to Gippsland to get this sorted? Hopefully it wont be too hard but those turbos did have a unknown history (just like everything else i guess) so i bet you've blown one. About time if you ask me buddy! Maybe this could be an excuse to buy a big-single or some other nice setup, get it sorted, then swap it over to your GTR when it gets here... Anywayto anwer you question (and minor hi-jack your thread) my boost controller is going well, you'd be proud of me since i haven't tidied up all the wires running about, and my ECU was on the passenger side floor for weeks! Still got the kick panel of tho...
  14. If you want to completely cancel HICAS why wouldn't you use a lock bar? <- NOTE: genuine question not retorical.
  15. I know first hand a RB26DETT bolts straight up to a RB20DET gearbox, the RB25DET would too, and i would assume it'd do the same with a DE. If you want to go for torqe you can always twin-cam a RB30 with turbos. If you get the RB20DET out of the box you can push respectable power out of that too, but you're always going to be down on torque compared to other RBs. The other advantage of a DET is if you get a Type-M you've already got some awesome brakes with no need to upgrade unless you're doing a fair bit of track work. The previous question of rims, I know 9.5" fit on the rears and 8.5" on the front, but you'd struggle to get any more on stock guards, esp. the front.
  16. It's easy enough to put a T-piece in and run both so just do that.
  17. So long as it's the DE not the E then i think you'll enjoy it. However, 4 doors are already harder to find than coupes, and most R32's are turbos so you're narrowing your options yet again. Also have you contacted any insurance companies and found out what the price difference between cover for NA and Turbo? In my experience there's not a whole lot, the fact it's a Grey import works against the most, Turbo usually only adds a few hundred to Comprehensive cover and almost nothing to 3rd Party Fire/Theft with little higher excess too.
  18. Yes and Yes, they're invaluable, you don't need a peak-hold one but it'd sure make life easier. But then if you do it way too high showing a peak of 20psi might mean it's already too late. You just need to use a straight stretch of clear road, put the foot down and keep an eye on the gauge while setting it up, back off if it's climbing too high. Obviously you need to pay attention to your driving too so it's far better to have an assistant watching the gauge if you can arrange it.
  19. My speedo is consistantly 10% higher than what I'm actually doing, I base this on the speed reported by my Impakt DigiDash (takes it's data from the diagnostic port) and other traffic. The needle also "floats" if you know what i mean, it just doesn't seem to move right and wobbles a bit back and forth from time to time, I have a feeling it might be the cable where it hooks up the back or gearbox isn't quite right but have yet to check it out.
  20. Anyone got more pictures of Gareth's backyard dorifto bonnet? I see you finally got round to hacking it up mate, how long was it sitting on the table in the garden for, bloody ages!?
  21. I'm pretty sure Bursons has it. Hadn't thought about that latch that holds the bonnet in, probably not a great idea to "chock" the bonnet hinges up...
