  1. I think mine have been 'painted' black, and they did a crap job, should invest in some new ones...
  2. I'm from McLoud, but drive through greensy, eltham & diamo a few times a week, stockish (for the time being) black 33. Always keep my eyes peeled.

    Window Tint

Yeah I'm a little concerned about mine. I cannot see a thing through the back, and the sides are pretty bad too. I had a mate (a coppa) look at it, said its fine as long as the front windscreen isn't tinted. Reversing is a bitch... My only issue is that you could not see my P plate through the glass, no matter how hard you looked. I finally got a sticker of a P and stuck in on the back windscreen. Not happy about it, but its only for a few months more and not worth 3 demerit points.

Well if someone was looking at buying my car, they would have probably been detered by the massive key scratches all over it. It is worth less than the exact same car that isn't keyed. It doesn't look as nice, will cost money to fix and could rust easily. Hence if its fixed, its worth more than a keyed car... Thanks for the concern though

Will do. Took some pics on the weekend, need to get the film developed (should have used a digital camera). Have them up asap. I was pretty annoyed, its such mindless vandalism. $390 sounded like a lot, but when you see it, it makes so much of a difference. It'll add roughly that to the resale, so i'm looking at it as investment. Thanks again mate

Got a few after shots, before, I'd already touched it up with the 'correct' (my arse) paint. Took one shot touched up and polished, still noticeable. I should have taken a shot when it was keyed down to the metal. Ah well, one memory I won't miss...

Hey all Had Chips Away come out to my place on friday and I am officially key free! The guys did such a good job, I would recommend them to anyone. They quoted me $430, but took $390 cash on the spot which helped. I was a bit hesitant letting them do it, but it came out perfect, you could never tell it'd been keyed! A HUGE thanks to JAPCAB for pointing me in their direction. I'll have some pics asap. I did sh!t myself a bit when they resprayed the boot, while it was half open, with my brand new retrim unprotected, but there were no problems. Thanks to everyone else for your sympathy, much appreciated, the money was well spent and brings a smile to my face every time i walk to the car. Cheers

Thanks for that guys Chips away came on Saturday morning... way tooo early...$430 to fix... a little more than I expected, but i think i'll do it. Is that reasonable? I've just finished doing a full re-trim of the boot, so i'll post of pics of that and the new paint job when its done. Yeah it is spooky driving down there(springthorpe/old mont park), i'm devastated that they've put those three roundabouts on the straight stretch to plenty rd... :boohoo:

Funny you should mention that... I live about 25 metres from the EPA.... i have to crawl into my street of a day The guy that sold me the car offered me the 6'' muffler that came with it, and told me the EPA made him take it off, something tells me it was wise to leave it off... :burnout: I'm going to call them today to see when they can come and see the car. Thanks for the feedback, makes me feel a lot more comfortable about getting it done.

It's in a garage for about 90% of the time, which makes is so much more annoying. If i ever catch them, i'll 'key' them in a way that can't be resprayed... :Bang: Thanks for the imput guys. I'm going to get Chips Away to come out in the next week or three. I can't stand having it scratches all along, breaks my heart every time I walk past. Couple of hundred dollars (that will improve the resale price) is cheap to have that fixed. Thanks again

Thanks very much for that. Another mate of mine bought a burgandy one that was already keyed, same places, but got it resprayed. That's a good compromise i think, as the rest of the car is fine. Do we have a serial keyer on our hands? In the words of Vincent Vega in Pulp Fiction "It'd be worth him doing it, if I could have caught him..."
  12. Hey guys I'm new to the boards, although I've been reading for quite a while. Bought myself an R33 about 6 weeks ago, love it to pieces, but i guess someone else didn't share my passion. Found it keyed to the shi!thouse across the boot and one loooong line from about the fuel tank to the driver side mirror. Not impressed. Managed to give her a nice polish, came up well, but in two spots, it was keyed REALLY deep. I've touched up the paint, didn't come up as well as i'd hoped. I'm tempted to get the whole car resprayed. I'm a little hesitant to do that tho, as the rest of the paint is in tip top condition. I'm from Macleod and was wondering if you guys had any ideas or any good places in mind to get it done, as well as what prices I should be expecting. Cheers
