  1. no wonder there is so much road rage, talking about driving really gets alot of people on this site worked up!!!! RELAX people. If someone is tailgating flick your rear view mirror up or move out of their way, its not worth bothering about! If you want to play braking or slowing down games YOU run the risk of having a crash or making an impatient driver angrier. I don't want my car dinged, so I don't muck around. CHILL
  2. Good to see the drift on TV, I was able to show a few old folks what is was about. not enough skylines competing tho! i did ultra-karting on the bargello / wanneroo track, it would be nice for drifting on but it costs alot to hire the track, paying by the hour too...
  3. is all the drifting going to be a tandem setup? (two cars at once?)
  4. remove any low front spoiler or else it will get torn off!!!
  5. guys, I have a 0.9kg plastic bracket fire extinguisher, aus standards approved... will this be ok rather than getting a whole new one with a steel bracket? Also I would like to mount it in the passenger side foot area, against the plastic next to the stereo head unit, would that get through? Else the only other spot is the boot??
  6. sweeet put me down for a spot! Chris
  7. radar detector detectors can't be mounted in cars, they are too bulky (and due to their cost they are very few) so the cop must have seen it or seen him taking it off the dash to know he had it. plus the RX65 has anti detection technology, so technically can't be detected.......... anyhow if you interstate they are illegal, thats a fact.
  8. how did he get done, did a cop see it on his dash? you have to keep it hidden at RBTs....
  9. This was the latest in radar detectors 8 months ago for $750. It comes with manuals, foam box, all attachments and original receipt. This means you can take it in to the shop I bought it and get upgrades if the cops ever upgrade their systems. It is better than a BEL vector 990. It has everything - voice alert, and about 8 different frequencies that can be monitored, auto-mute, brightness adjustment, window mounting bracket, and cig-lighter attachment with mute button. Just mount on your dash with velco stickers. AND it works well. I am not getting the use out of it that I expected (I work away 80% of the time!!), but it has saved me 3 speeding fines so far. IT also makes driving safer, I don't need to watch out for cameras or lasers! It WILL work in other states other to WA, but it is illegal. It has anti-police detector technology, so theoretically they shouldn't be able to pick you up for it anyway. I have 2 friends who use them interstate (Adelaide). I am looking for $500 or the nearest offer I get. I would prefer a Perth buyer, for easy pickup. Chris
  10. 1 remaining, the one with the HKS dash mount. $130 0417711757
  11. Price drop! $130 for HKS one and $110 for the other. They come with all connections. HKS one is worth more due to the coooool rubber mount. Chunners: they both have 2 wires and the pressure tube. yes the displays are actually different, dont know which one is older, but they both do the same thing.
  12. In my r31 gtsx ('88) the speed chime was a little bell box behind the panel that faces your left knee, left and below of the steering wheel. There is a small plastic grid built into the panel there. I got some small pliers up behind there and snipped the wire leading to it, turned it off ok.
  13. pm sent. willing to negotiate offers!
  14. Two Apexi boost gauges complete with tubes and electrical wires, white background with blue backlight and redlight needle. They are in excellent condition for secondhand items, no scratches on glass or body of gauges. Will post interstate for $5 extra each, or pickup from perth. Contact me on [email protected] Will take nearest offers if not much interest. Apexi Boost Gauge with HKS dash holder - $220 Apexi Boost Gauge with standard dash mount - $185
  15. This happens alot, and it normally is a holden (commodore / ute) racing up behind me. D) Pull over and let them go past Holdens aren't worth it, and I don't want to be rear-ended!
  16. Worst of all, this is going to get alot worse before it gets better. It is getting cheaper and cheaper to buy a quick car and modify it letting younger people (with less money in general) to buy them and do them up. The government can see that jap imports are getting cheaper, and along with the big media stir-up to try and get something interesting in the news they are enjoying putting all the blame on us. so the government is trying (and will?) curb jap imports.... they are worried that in 3-5 years time an r33 t will be worth $8-10k and 16 yolds will be earning that in 12 months at maccas! it is a pity the government doesn't have any intelligence to make the right decision (they manage people from inside offices, instead of getting outside and interacting with people, which is the complete opposite to the way I am taught to be a good manager). There are so many stupid people out there who can't drive quick cars but will get into them and crash them. I don't feel that sorry for the stupid people dying, thats natural selection and it happens all the time. Maybe further education in school and during driving training will help for the moment.... I don't think there is a simple answer, but will all this be over when petrol gets up to $5-10 a litre? Many people may not be able to afford that? So maybe by 2010 it will be a non-issue.
  17. Hi People, I had an R33 a couple years back that I insured with Just Car Ins, I was paying $3000 per year for full comprehensive (I was 21 and it was heavily modded). Anyhow, had my first and only crash in it with excess of $1400, and it took 6 weeks to get it back and on the road as the parts had to come from east (sydney to adelaide). Total damage to my car was $5k and other car $2.5k. I had to wait 2 weeks for a hire car from the mechanic, so that wasn't too bad. Anyhow i thought the service was good by Just Car. Repair job was ok. I have a 31 turbo now because i am sick of insurance though, makes me sick knowing the money I was paying!! Its mainly a matter of driving more safely and hoping you don't get hit by someone else. Any insurance company gets picky when they have to dish out the big bux like $40k for a beamer!
  18. www.r31skylineclub.com You will sell some of that stuff there, no worries.
  19. hey mate, im sort of in the same boat, with an R31. just got a big front mount, and I bought some 2 1/2" stainless piping from Allbends Engineering, a big piping (test) bin inside the building.... $110 for 5 bends, but i will need some more... But from there I need someone professional to hook up the bov etc because I don't have the tools. Let me know how you're going.
  20. hi, I will be there with the r31 GTS-X. Its basically stock, just about to mod it so this will be a good measure.
  21. pics of the bov and the dump pipe to [email protected] thanks
  22. is that r32 stock bov a plumb back type thing? im after a bov that makes little noise and is ok for an RB25 turbo - any chance you could email pics?
  23. my 2c worth! always check the photo with the police, because they get it wrong heaps as already said. the pictures are very clear because they snap you from about 30 to 40m away? they gave me a fine for a car that i had sold a couple months before, as the jerk i sold it to didn't transfer the rego. i went to DOPI in the city and signed a stat declaration saying it wasn't me driving, sent that to the police and haven't heard from since. didn't even need to give the details of the other driver!! now i have a RX65 radar detector and havn't had a fine for months, works a treat, for line of sight.
  24. sweeet thanks mate. i have a r31 gtsx and will be there next time :headspin:
  25. hey, how often are these comps held, how much to enter etc??? this is the first i've heard of them...
