  1. you will lose response on any FMIC. The xr6T isnt worth it. I looked into the measurements and not much better than the r34gtt smic. Dont waste your time on it. Stock turbo - best you can do is R34GTT smic.
  2. Old thread. But I have 247rwkw r33gtst. I have modified the snorkel so that it clears the FMIC that comes over the top. So I cut the snorkel and used some plastic to seal it up. Boost dropped to 0psi above 6000rpm. I have now hacked the snorkel more (as no longer needs to clear stock intercooler pipe and used 1.5mm sheets of plastic to seal it. Holds a little better now but still poses a restriction above about 6300rpm. With the snorkel removed runs to 7000rpm no troubles I still want to have some kind of air ducting to prevent hot air feeding the intake. Because of the stock airbox it's hard to bring the air feed from the existing hole where one of the stock intercooler pipe went through. Anyone got any innovations here? I have a pod in the garage but I would rather keep it looking as stock as possible while keeping inlet charge cool.
  3. Like to know of one that has good clearance (doesn't sit too low), quiet and flows enought for ~250rwkw
  4. Might be hitting the excess air flow protection. Only if you change the turbo and computer should you think of changing injectors or Air flow meter. Standard injectors should handle up to 1 bar on stock turbo. But you will need your computer chipped or new ECU/SAFC to do this otherwise you will get huge cuts in the power.
  5. Yes. Thats what is what bought for - see pics in manual. Even has screw holes for the heat shield etc. True bolt on not like some others.
  6. Item: HKS Adjustable actuator Age: NEW Price: $150 To Fit: R34GTT and R33 Rb25det and R32 rb20det Location: Sydney Comments: Bought for $190 to try and find fault. Fixed before I tried this. So this hasn't been used Fully adjustable. Will bolt to standard turb, High flow or HKS turbos. It means you don't need a boost controller. Will hold 13psi up to about 20psi plus I believe. Helps stop boost trailing off at high rpm. SOLD******
  7. Thanks for all the help lads. Turns out my actuator is fine and everything else. I modified the air snorkel to clear the FMIC intercooler pipe. (Im still using stock air box). I just took the air snorkel off (sucking hot air I know) and holds 15psi to redline. Peaks at about 18. Just as I had at the tune. I had created too much of a restriction by reducing the air snorkel in places to clear the pipe! I pulled off the inlet plenum (not fun), dropped the cat, Pressure tested inlet, bought HKS actuator and the answer was right there!! Could have saved all that mucking around I guess on the dyno the bonnet is open so the problem didn't show up. I might reuse the snorkel but bring in a cold air feed into the bottom of the snorkel..
  8. Solved. Problem was my modified air snorkel. I cut some out to create room for FMIC pipe. Sealed it up but not as free flowing. On the dyno it was ok since less restriction with bonnet open. It was strange that it was ok for a while. Maybe I didnt really push it over 6k before. Took air snorkel off (still standard air box). Making just over 14psi at 6500rpm..
  9. I have 450cc and making 247rwkw they max at about 78% For your goal maybe 555s
  10. No, pretty sure its not a boost controller issue as it is holding less than the wastegate actuator pressure when boost is raised. The intake pipe has the 10cm of metal stuck in the middle so I dont think it is that.. but yeah it does sound like the symptoms Ordered a HKS actuator to see if that is the cure..
  11. anyone else? Is the HKS 11-12psi the best or do GCG do one?
  12. Anybody know where to get a 1 bar actuator? Or heard of this problem?
  13. Got one. Brand new about $95 For future reference K4554 or K4555 work on the sedan
  14. I think the HKS actuators are 0.8-0.9 bar, then adjustable from there. I thought you could get 1 bar but on Greenline etc they are only 0.8-0.9.. Hopefully it fixes the huge ~ 10psi boost drop!
  15. I have stared another thread but want to keep this concise. R33GTST making 247rwkw. Ran perfectly on the dyno and for the first week. Now at about 5800- 5900rpm the boost drops from 18psi to 4psi (i.e. massive boost drop) Turbo is a gcg highflow with an enlarged wastegate hole and flap for better boost control. I have a turbotech bleed valve, also tried a simple T off to bleed boost to achieve 1 bar. Still the same problem. Occassionally it does hold boost to redline. It has an Rb20 actuator (holds about 0.6 bar - 9psi without boost controller). It will hold the 9psi to redline. It will also hold 11-12 psi to redline. As soon as you boost to about 14psi the massive boost drop occurs. Intake has been checked for leaks, cat appeared ok. The 2 suspects are the actuator and the centre muffler. I'm thinking of getting/buying a HKS actuator or an rb25 one to test. It's as if the wastegate gets pushed wide open ~ 6000rpm and 15+ psi. Anybody seen one fail this way? I have also done a lot of other checks. The tuner was a bit surprised at the problem but didnt have time to put it on the dyno. Cheers
  16. Thanks mate The one in the car is a special order belt. $380 and 14 days. I might try and see if I can fit a generic. There isn't much difference - I just pulled off the trim in the old camry and it's not that different. I'm surprised they used a special order belt.
  17. Trying to source a seat belt for my R33gtst sedan. Front Drivers side. Can anyone take a pic of there coupe belt (connection at base mainly) and the top? I'm not sure if I can use one from a coupe or not. Thanks http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Se...33-t206096.html
  18. Hi SXC - can you send me some pics please? Just need to have a look and see if they will fit. I assume yours are from a coupe? Thanks
  19. Hey Chris! I ended up getting my car tuned by MRC in Castle Hill. Closer to work. Mark is pretty reasonable and seems to know his stuff. He thinks it is either the actuator/boost controller or collapsed cat/muffler. I have kind of ruled out the cat and the boost controller. Going to try the actuator and then drop the rear exhaust.. Hows your beast going?
  20. Mine has given out. Part no. on the one I've got is Brand: Klippan Part No.: SAP006 I'm trying to track a replacement quick and cheap Are they the same as cefiro? Thanks PICS and Wanted thread here. Thanks for looking
  21. Here are some pics of mine, It is a Klippan SAP006 Its front drivers side. I think the coupe has a rail on the bottom - mine doesnt
  22. Nice to know abob. When you say didnt hold how much was it dropping? Mine is dropping from 1.2 bar to about 0.2bar! Thanks Hopefully this will fix it!
  23. Thanks a lot guys. Might see if I can get closer though.. The preload is ok. I have an Rb20 actuator on it now that Im thinking may be suspect. I have dropped the cat and it appeared ok. The centre muffler is also under scrutiny I hope its not valve float or anything more major. Sometimes it will rev to redline perfect but most of the time boost will drop to about 3psi The thing is it worked perfect on the dyno for 2 hours and for the first week. Something has happened!
  24. Hi guys, Having issues with my car (R33GTST), The boost is dropping from 18psi below 6000rpm to 3 psi (i.e. dropping 15psi) above that. Something wierd is happening. Just trying to check the actuator. I've tried 2 seperate boost controllers and once the boost is set above 12psi the boost drops off badly. Set at 10psi it will hold to redline Anyone got an rb25 or rb20 one I can borrow or buy. I'm trustworthy I think it could also be the exhaust, going to try dropping that and taking it for a run. Cheers PS. Im on the northern beaches. Would travel to hornsby etc...
