  1. Silman is yours ok after the retune?
  2. The ones that were dodgy were from one of the traders here I think. I was considering getting from Just jap..
  3. I know - northern beaches performance? Thats the place you were mentioning before? Wouldnt you have trouble when you get low on fuel as the orientation ensures you pick up from the very bottom. That why you can run the tank very low before you have any fuel pickup issues. Haven't spent too much time. Main wait was the tank seal. Just driving the car now with a noisy pump I'd rather play around with it myself then I know what is done. Hopefully the pump is ok and I can quieten it down. Cheers..
  4. The Z32 are hard to get a hold of...some of the new ones being sold are maxing out early. Do the Q45 bolt up to the standard airbox the same as the 80mm Z32/R33 AFM? How about the wiring? Anybody got the wiring colours etc? Same as Z32? Cheers
  5. If I don't have much luck with mine I might show it to you. I'm a bit concerned that you havent rotated the sock around the right way though... SK - have you seen the pic on page 2..?
  6. Ive put a new tank seal in. I haven't taken it out yet to put the extra clamp on. I am sure that won't help alone - but I think maybe if I rotate the pump a little and make sure it isn't touching it might be better..hopefully
  7. Well this would give most people the shts if you don't have the radio on. Just filled up , will wait till the weekend and check it out. Thanks for the ideas. Maybe cut up some radiator hose and use that?
  8. Genuine or Silicone? Nice Its a real buzzing noise. It's not a rattling. Very loud inside the car. Quite loud outside also. What sort of rubber do you need to use to be fuel resistant?
  9. Thanks Chris, for the PM also. I would havehoped the tune would be safe for the track and hot days also. Have you had it back to them to sort it out? Cheers
  10. Thanks fellas. How about unigroup? Unigroup is closer..trying to decide between the 2.
  11. Has anyone used Adam at JEM? I rang him up and he seemed quite knowing about skylines and says he's done a few. I'm aiming for about 240rwkw with an R33. Cheers
  12. Its a buzzing noise. Very loud. The clamp is very tight. It possibly might be resting on something...Ill have to check. Its a very tight fit. I find it hard to believe that you can get it so it isn't touching somewhere. There must be a very small gap in some areas (around 2-5mm). THe rubber shoud still stop some of the vibration/noise transmission. SK did you use rubber? Did you use the cable tie as shown in my pic SK? I bought heaps of hose clamps so I'm not being cheap Chris It's definately not liveable the way it is. I'll have another go on the weekend when I'm down to ~10 litres fuel again. Pain of a job though.
  13. It's done a genuine 105k kms. Oil changed every 5000km Very minimal shaft play. Not pushed hard like other turbos. Highest boost run is 9.5psi for the last year. Before that stock 7psi.
  14. This is one of the rare good condition turbos. Only removed due to upgrade
  15. You mean hose clamps? This is like buzzing bees - very loud!
  16. Ok thanks. So would it look something like this (see below). You just use one cable tie around the lug feature (of mounting of the old sock) that usually locates to the post then tie that to the hose clamp? And Sk do you usually use some rubber? Do you have any piccies of your pump assembly/setup?
  17. Thanks SK. I might have to put the rubber in then to quieten it down and watch where it's resting. If cable ties are ok then maybe I should take of the S/steel hose clamp and use those to attach it to the cradle. Atleast then there isn't the bulbous piece of the clamp getting in the way. I did take an approximate view of where the orientation of the sock is. Hopefully I got it close enough. When you say you cable tied it did you just tighten up the cable tie on the plastic of the part of the sock that mates to the pump? Did this generate enough pressure to stop it from spinning around? Thanks SK!
  18. Maybe the brushes are worn? I don't like the pump being noisy. Are the walbros quiet or the tomei?
  19. Thanks for the reply. Mine is quite a lot noisier which makes me think the pump might be on the way out. I will try and put some rubber around it and see if I can prevent it from touching the tank.
  20. Well I just put 40L of petrol in and it is possibly even louder. Seems to be only noticeable at idle but it is a very loud buzzing. I'm going to definitely have to take it out again and try again. Should have got the tomei pump!! Hopefully the pumps not shagged
  21. Ive just installed the GTR pump. Quite noisy but then again I only have about 10L of fuel in the tank. Can hear it wirring away. Might take it out one day and put some rubber around the pump in between the hose clamp. I was worried the pump might be on the way out but it seems that a few people seem to find them noisy. I tried to keep it from resting on the tank but it was pretty tight in the R33gtst. Its a sedan so I'm not sure if the tank is a different shape. Anybody pulled them out to put rubber in there and found it reduces the noise? Thanks
