  1. Do people have good reports for these guys..thinking of taking my R33 there for tuning.. THanks
  2. get a nissan one - they are cheaper and have marks on them to help you - got mone for about $70 or 80 bucks
  3. Duncan - have you had this done??? Got quoted $595 including tuning. Not bad. He said to come in and he'll show me what he does. not sure how hard it is for him to change the tune if I go and change something though like bigger turbo or something at a latter date..have to see. But a lot cheaper than PFC!
  4. Mark sounds good - just gave him a call...
  5. SO Duncan you can tune the R33 comp?? About how much is it for mark to do this you think? Might have to call them...
  6. Ive seen a lot of cars without them - you sure there not the amp for stock stereo??
  7. Sorry - I couldnt wait needed the car on Sunday so just got a std battery, hopefully someone else can step in...
  8. Did you get an answer on this?? Cheers
  9. Cool.. I think the SAFC2 reads out the knock levels on the screen. Is there any cheap way for me to take the output of the knock sesor and convert it to numbers you can read in the cabin? What is the output voltage 0-5v or 0-1v thanks
  10. Fair enough - thanks for all your help. Give it a go..like you say could sell it if it doesn't turn out to be adequate. Where do you go for tuning or you just tuned it yourself on the dyno right?? I thinking BEL garage in homebush....quoted about $160
  11. Nice... Thanks for that...how about the DFA vs PFC argument for these mod levels..would there be much difference in say 0-100km/h times or seat of the pants? I mean if the car is close to detonation and you are close to you 12:1 AFR the PFC cant really improve on that can it. Just has the benefit of pulling out timing when needed. Sound reasonable or will you feel quite a bit more average power with PFC??
  12. sydneykid your thoughts??
  13. Right...so might be wise to leave them there haahahah I thought one of them was the amp for the standard system...??
  14. There appears to be 2 of these boxes near the battery next to I think some fuses etc. Im pretty sure one box is an amp, can I remove both or is one for HICAS or something? I want to free up some space and planning to put my own amp in there.. Thanks
  15. Front speakers will run but not the rears that are running off the amp. antenna may be ok but what happens if you are playing CDs - the amp turns off Maybe Ill just use the HU trigger and hope I dont run the battery down if im just listening to music in the car when car isnt going...
  16. Yeah - Ive wondered that. I you dont have a rattle do you just put it in Park and hope for the best?? Would imagine you could break something that way though
  17. I've got an amp to install in the boots and I would like it to come on only when IGN is in the ON position, so I wont drain my battery if sitting there with ACC on. Is there one easily found in the boot. Thanks
  18. Does anybody know what these are in the R33 - Im thinking about taking them out as they take up a lot of space! Thougth they may be amps for the standard system
  19. Just bought the kits but now Im having second thoughts. Car is R33 with 3" exhaust, R34 cooler and 10psi. I know a PFC will be better but how much better????? Say PFC $950 + $400 for dyno tune = $1350 vs Jaycar components $140 + $200 dyno = $340 I'm not planning on going bigger turbo this is the end of the mods. Is 170-180rwkw realistic considering my mods? Am I loosing a lot of midrange compared to a powerfc ? I know a PFC is a lot better for tuning but I am hoping to get 90% results for a fraction of the price of PFC. If I was going bigger turbo I would buy PFC for sure. Just read somewhere that 195kw PFC vs 195KW SAFC tune is a lot different? Is this true? I mainly got the DFA to try and get the comp to stop going into Rich and retard and the car feels a bit slack around the 4000rpm mark... Hopefully the DFA will improve fuel consumption a little aswell....at close to $1.40/litre! Currently get about 12L/100km, 10-11L/100km would be nice On the dyno the car was going to AFR of about 10:1 on std boost. What is reasonable to lean it out to 12 or 12.5:1 presuming you dont get pinging...?
  20. Please - I need one Still in for it!!
  21. Cmon someone - Im sick of the auto camry.. one more!!!
  22. Im down for one - I think that is 4. Im driving a camry at the moment oso really need it to put the car back on the road
  23. Yeah - there is already some acid there from the last one. Im going the gel one thanks for the convincing. 140 isnt much if it lasts 4-5 years trouble free.
  24. Im thinking of wither getting a gel one from the forums ($140) or a new 300cca one from nissan (they do century) for about $70 - thats the one they sell for skylines - it is maintenance free THe old one is 300cca but I think its had its day. Its charging at 14.3 volts but doesnt hold charge.
  25. I have a 300cca battery that is a delco maintenance free. It seems to be low on water when you look in it. Anybody know if you can just flick the lid, seems to be glued on ... It's only 300cca - is thiss good enough you think...?? Thanks
