  1. Thanks Chris. Do you think my standard BOV will be still working - seems wierd both seem to be connected. Will post pics tomorrow.
  2. Yeah it is Chris. Will get the digi out tommorrow and have a better look - but traced all plumbing from the standard BOV and there seems to be nothing disconnected .... Wonder if this means I can just get that pipe that has the HKS on it and replace it..
  3. Ohh - hi there Chris. It has the standard BOV aswell as the HKS - same as in your pics just with the HKS aswell in a different spot...
  4. I'll get a better pic. Pretty tired now, will take it tommorrow. So Edge, you can adjust the standard BOV. The standard BOV looks the same as in Kryz's pics... Thanks
  5. Seems like my car has the standard BOV still connected with all the hoses (doesn't appear to be tampered with)...plumbing back into just after the POD How can this be. Do some people add a HKS while keeping the standard BOV there. So I can just take the HKS BOV off? Is the HKS doing most of the work? Gee these are nice motors.
  6. Was quite an experience seeing their workshop, the cars they get in there and the knowledge they have...
  7. Hi there. I'm in Sydney and getting quotes on a 93 model R33gtst 4door. Live in a good suburb and car in a garage at night. JCI - $1650 or $1750 with minor mods (Full no claim bonus with AAMI..70%) - 23 yo. 5-6 years driving, no accidients, no tickets (hoping to stay this way ). My Dad rang up - 58 odd yo and full ncb etc. Without declaring me on the policy it was still $1400 with no mods! I've heard other guys on here that are 30 yo with insurance just below the 1k mark etc. Should I try elders or torque. Are they as reputable as Just car? Dont know why just car aren't giving me a great deal thanks
  8. Where does the BOV channel the air back to - the standard Air filter box? What are you meant to do if you have a Pod filter or simlar? Can't quite see from above and this one below Cheers
  9. Cheers Chris - that was great you doing that. I'm just trying to track down a stock setup. A guy in melbourne on these forums has the stock BOVs but not the piping...I'm wondering how hard that will be to get ...
  10. Hi there, Does anybody have a pic or link of the standard BOV config in an R33 RB25DET... Showing the pipe it mounts to etc. Thanks
  11. Got Unique Autosport - very very good!!!
  12. Took a car for a pre purchase inspection to these guys. They are professional and certainly know their stuff. John was very helpful along with the rest of the staff. Would definately trust them and recommend them!! They seem fair on prices also..
  13. Do you guys know how much this should cost on a RB25DET? Unique autosport said it would take them an hour. Are they around $80 per hour..so approx 100 bucks??. I should have asked him prices.... I said I wanted a pre purchase inspect of about 30 mins on a hoist also...check for leaks etc. I know a bit about cars so don't want a full itemised deal. Does anybody know anyone around castle hill etc. The guy at unique sounded pretty good - just didn't talk cost. Anything over about 150 is a bit much...I think Just dont want to get ripped and couldn't afford 3k for another engine. Why are these engines so much more exe that RB20DETs - while the price of RB25 reduce as more are wrecked?
  14. Figured it all out -UAS did well....
  15. Sorry for diggin up an old thread. But is a clutch on R32s something you can do at home if you're a semi competent DIYer. (bar maching flywheel of course). Are they relatively easy to work on? Thanks.
  16. Thanks fellas. I will talk to the guy. He used to import a lot of cars a year or so ago, but has moved onto other things. SO I may have to see if he's going to put it through my name or his (if his then might not be able to get out of degassing by the sounds of things) Cheers
  17. So what is the verdict on the gas? I'm getting somebody to import a car for me (1 off). If the car has R12 gas do I need to get it de gassed. The opions in here seem to conflict somewhat... Thanks
  18. Try this for an idea on price... http://www.discpads.com.au click on "Get Parts" on the left
  19. Was wondering whether the R32 is much better than the R33 on petrol, being a 2 liter rather than an 2.5 liter. Also I think the R32 is slightly lighter. Only concerned about the turbos. Do you think the parts are cheaper for R32s also? I see RB25DET engines are 3k for SSS automotive while a RB20DET is 1.2k Is the price of RB25's going to drop you think as they get older or are they just more expensive because they're a more powerful motor? Still tossing up b/wn the 2. Thinking R32 is more suited to my budget though.. Thanks guys.
  20. Hey guys. Had a search but can't really find anything definitive. What is the going rate to get an R33 2 or 4 door complied. An early one such as 93 to 95? I've seen someone posted up they could get an R34 complied for $3850. Is an R33 about the same. Also in Sydney preferably, but any figures ould be nice. Thanks. I have tried to use the cost calculator on the imports 101 website but doesn't seem to work on my comp.
  21. sorry- random post
  22. Thanks guys. The 4 door sounds a little harder than the 2 door but hopefully won't need too many bits. I wonder whether power window motors etc are interchangable etc. It sounds like the parts can be had at a reasonable price etc if you're not in a huge hurry. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Are the R32 as easyu to get parts for as an R33, which predator was talking about. THanks a lot!
  23. Yeah - I was thinking afterwards that I shouldn't have put the heading as 4 door as a lot of people won't bother opeing the thread Still would like to hear from r32 owners with 2 doors Thanks Predator for your help with a skyline wannabe owner
  24. Is this the right section to be posting? Or is there a section for R32 skylines? Just wondering. Thanks
