Does anyone know where I can get a gauge cluster like this where 3 gauges can be fitted and mounted on top of the dash?

I don't see the problem that a car like this has been advertised. You'd be a flipping idiot to do something huge like personally importing a car without knowing all the rules and regs involved and knowing exactly what is required to register a car on Aussie roads for the first time. I'm sorry but if someone buys this car and has problems getting it registered, then it's their own fault. I dont' see why it's wholy the problem of the advertiser (whoever it is). The pics show exactly what condition it's in. If you DID want to buy this car, most import companies can provide further details and pics on request before you made a decision. I would however be severly p!ssed off if I got this car after it had been comlplied and sold by a potentially dodgy compliance workshop.

Genuine Consult Port Connectors (& Pins)
MearCat replied to MearCat's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
These will fit all Skylines (R32, R33, R34) and any other Nissan (Micra, Pulsar, Silvia/180SX, 300ZX etc but not A31 Cefiro) that has the 14 pin Diagnositcs/Consult port shown in this pic. This port is found underneath the steering wheel/column area. And no this is not the same as what Jaycar has. Jaycar do not stock this specific connector (they did stock the OBD2 connector at one stage though), nor the consult cable/interface. Note : The consult interface port will not work for those cars fitted with a Power FC -
I have a limited number (less thsan 20) of NEW and RARE Genuine Consult Connectors now available for anyone who wants to make their own Consult interface module/cable for running Datascan, Conzult, Calumsult, etc Available for anyone in Australia but extra cost will be incurred for anyone who is outside of Australia Price : $20 which includes connector, 5 pins and postage Contact Details: Email me at alan@mearcat.com.au for any queries. For more info on what these connector are for : http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...=12&t=72397 or http://people.aapt.net.au/~mearcat/Consult/ for details on how to make your own consult cable for ~$35 (plus connector) instead of $100+ from PLMS or Blazt Do your research - see how useful one of these cables are!

Ooops - will make sure it's set properly next time

I don't know about Landy, but I have a R33 and this is a pic of the consult pic. Which pins?
-
BUMP I've done a long search in the forums for "self diagnostics", "diagnositcs test", "diagnositcs mode", diagnositcs" etc but only ever found HICAS diagnositcs mode. I know there a way to short 2 pins in the consult port, but which two??

I'll be making an interface module from just prototype board (Have already got the component layout for the board) in the coming week and intend doing a tech writeup on it - probably end up posted on my webpage. Watch this space... It will be as close to a kit as you can get with you having to buy all the parts yourself. I just can't get hold of the consult connectors that's all so will likely make up one from ATX power plug (as posted previously in this thread).

New 3" Mild Steel Dump Pipe (Perth buyers)
MearCat replied to MearCat's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Sorry for the delay. My email notifications aren't working. Sorry this has now been sold -
SCHEMATIC AVAILABLE : I have modified the PLMS Rev3a interface circuit schematic so that it matches the one the NewKleer was making for a few members. I will be making one for myself in the next few days with a experimenters board, and all the parts are easy to source except for the consult interface. For anyone who has done their research, the consult connectors are very hard to find so here's a link for a DIY one (made from ATX power supply connector) http://www.tangentrix.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=532 I have also attached a component list of all parts required for this circuit. Wow - I'm surprised how easy that was. I emailed Clarion directly and they gave me the code straight up.

Back to the orginal post : One FAQ that needs to be in the list is, what kind of modifications away from factory (body or mechanical) are allowed under SEVS. In a FAQ doc for SEVS http://raws.dotars.gov.au/FAQ2_Nov_2004.pdf (Page 15) is says that : Q. Can a vehicle fitted with an after market exhaust with aftermarket system be imported under RAWS? A. Yes. However, the exhaust system fitted to the vehicle when a used import plate is fitted to it must be in accordance with the applicable sample evidence shown on the vehicle inspection certificate submitted for the vehicle. Does this mean if it passes noise level tests, we can have aftermarket exhausts?

I recently purchased a Clarion CD player from a local Police Clearance auction (they sell stolen & unclaimed goods direct from the Police Dept). I tested the unit last night and all channels, CD and radio work fine but after but after 5 minutes, the word CODE is displayed on the screen. Of course being from an auction I don't have the security code. The model number is PM-2308U-A, and it looks like a unit that was supplied as a standard unit with a new car but have no idea what type of car. Is it possible for anyone to aid me with this problem? Or am I stuck with a dud? :lock: btw - I do have the receipt to prove it's not hot. MearCat

I intend to setup the Greddy Profec boost controller as 9psi and 12psi for the Lo and Hi boost settings respectively. Once that is set up, I'll get the SAFC tuned. Does this need to be tuned for both boost settings, or just one and it's fine for the other setting. Should the SAFC be tuned when the EBC is set on Lo or Hi?

I still had axle tramp after putting aftermarket suspension on the car. Fitting some pineapples (do a search if you're not sure) solved 90% of axle tramp from that point.

I've used 2mm Ally but I think the benefit comes not from the aluminium but the foam foil layer. Eug - to take your example, I have this setup : engine bay || foil/foam || aluminum sheet || pod filter ^^^^^layers are pretty much like this ^^^^^ without a scond layer or foam/foil and according to my temp gauges, it keeps the intake temp within 2-3 degrees on ambient temp when cruising.
