  1. Except that Defi charge 3 times as much as me
  2. Yes - still have a few left. PM coming your way...
  3. Thanks No parts need to be replaced, unless you break simething or lose the small black plastic spacer rings (easy to drop when taking the rail out and hard to find late). I used a small amount of generic grease to coat the o-rings before putting them back in but not 100% sure whether that's even necessary.
  4. Does anyone know where to get them, or are they readily available?
  5. Idea thanks to GTrydaz.com... The idea of having a separate section for Expressions of Interest and Group Buys If someone wants to get a group buy going, they post a thread in the Expression of Interest section with a specific end date. If the necessary number of people are found within the specific time period, then that thread is the CLOSED and a thread in opened in the Group Buy section. This will stop a lot of Expressions of Interest that never go anywhere -Alan
  6. I haven't received anything - PM nor email
  7. Not sure whether it's mandatory or not, but I just put a tiny amount of generic grease around mine.
  8. My wife's Mazda6 has side airbags built into the seat side bolsters and we want to put some seat covers on the seats to protect them but I really don't know whether it should be done or not. Can you get seat covers that are "airbag compliant"? Could I cut a piece out of the side of the cover to allow for the airbag to deploy (fingers crossed - only if necessary)?
  9. I have a couple of pics of an S-AFC installed in a centre dash pod (thx to mike40sydney), but I'd like to get pics of actual gauges installed in the 3 pod types, as I don't have any yet. Can anyone please send me pics to [email protected] Thanks!
  10. Australia Post sucks sometimes - Not regarding the GB, but I'm waiting on an EMS package was sent from China last Thursday 16th, got to Melbourne Monday 20th at 12:43am and almost 4 days later, I still haven't seen it. Australia Post takes over the delivery of EMS stuff once it hits Oz. Express my a$$.
  11. What a tosser with an attitude problem A few guys were telling him to shut the f**k up and most others were shaking their heads in disbelief. Overall though, a FANTASTIC turnout and a great cruise. Wicked fog and well behaved crowd I did have to laugh at the irony of the two guys at Mindarie beating each other up while the two cops cars were cruising around all our cars 100m away.
  12. I will bring along some single pods for the R32 & R34. I don't have any R33 single pods in stock at the moment, but my R33 has one installed. I'll also bring along the prototypes of the R33 double gauge pod and if I remember, the fully enclosed fibreglass airbox I've made as well. Preview - can be found here : http://www.mearcat.com.au/images/ Just look out for my Silver R33 S2 (cripes there should be a dozen or more of those around!) but with MEARCAT number plates and come and see me any time during the night.
  13. A fellow skyline owner has requested that I bring along one of my gauge pods that I make. Is anyone else interested in viewing the Skyline gauge pod designs? If so, I'll bring a few along - I have them for the R32, R33 & R34. (See www.mearcat.com.au Let me know
  14. Do we have a itinerary/map/plan for this cruise? I reckon I'll make an appearance
  15. The kits are currently on special for $350 for the full kit.
  16. Thanks Unfortunately no pics were received - PM Sent.
  17. OK - I've now finished the lid for the box. The design is complete but there is lots of sanding and final prep work for painting to do, plus cut hole for CAI and glass in a bracket for the boost controller solenoid. Complete with lid Complete with lid (front view) - Yes the bonnet does close with approx 15-20mm clearance I hope this gives you guys/gals some ideas if you want to go the DIY way. This has taken me a long time so far however - I reckon about 20+ hours. For those not prepared to make one themselves, I intend of having this design for sale in about 3-4 months.
  18. I'm surprised some idiot hasn't already piped up and said "xxx kms on that age car? - Gee - that's not possible - gotta be wound back! - blah blah blah" My current '96 SII Gts-t had 20,995km on it when I imported it Feb last year. The importer (Autoworx) said it was the cleanest R33 they've had in years and no wear, damage, dings anywhere with a completely clean auction sheet. 16 months later it's still only done 28,468km.
  19. Here is a couple of pics of the fully enclosed prototype that I am making. This version is for the R33 without a front mount intercooler only. My pod filter is an M's pod which is one of the biggest on the mmrket so the box should fit pretty mucvh any pod filter. I have not made the lid for it yet but you can see that with a lid, it will be fully enclosed and even uses the factory screws to mount it - (one at the top of the box, and one down the bottom (which you can't see in the photo). Box without pod Box with pod
  20. So they are only a heat shield/partition, not actually a (sealed) box.
  21. For the flow through factory snorkel - I agree that the factory snorkel is not exactly the best internal design especially with the hump in it that goes over the intercooler return pipe. This could certainly be improved to become a "big mouth" design to catch more frontal airflow and smoother internal flow to the stock air box. As for getting the air into the snorkel, of course the bigger opening in the snorkel the better but with the factory snorkel, the only thing that will really help flow INTO the snorkel would one of Bass Junkys air guides (also in the Fabrication section). These are very well made and a great item btw
  22. You mean like this one (like on suitcases and tradies tool boxes)? Latch Pic
  23. Wow - what brilliant idea! Lateral thinking at it's best Thanks Chris.
  24. I'll try and get the box to reasonable fabricaiton point and upload some pics this week. As PLYNX said, it does take a very long time to get it all lined up right and fitting well. For the benefit of bj_dove (originator of thread) and anyone else who's doing airboxes, I've been trying to think of ways to secure the lid. Anyone got any (simple & effective) ideas? I don't like the idea of using screws in fibreglass because you may eventually strip any thread you made. I thought of actually mounting magnets/latches (the ones you find on cupbaord doors) to keep the lid on. Comments?...
