  1. I've got 2 mates with GTi-Rs....one modded one stock, I'd say the stock one would have more trouble keeping away from a stock GTS...the modded one would give a stock GTS a caning. Both cars I end up feeling edgy in because of the speeds you can hit corners in compared to my R34...I'd literally be hard sideways and still not be able to keep up with either. The power delivery is a bit more urgent in the GTi-R I think this defiantely makes them feel quicker to drive than a Skyline as well. Seriously though I've seen Lantras that'd cane both cars...it just comes down ultimately to mods and drivers. And for some strange reason both GTi-R's I've been in remind me of a tractors...just the way the engine sounds??????
  2. Considering they share everything in common with a 350Z...and the fact a 350Z looks better...then the V35's would have to sell from about 35-45K to have half a chance over here. The damn things are just a bit too Maxima for my liking
  3. I'm sure he means well, it's just they are advertising your car for sale too....making this look like a trade advert.
  4. I don't recall my 21st.....seriously??? I'd say it invloved going to the valley though.
  5. I've been thinking about turning a stock R33 intercooler into an oil cooler....they're cheap, easily available and would have a decent capacity
  6. Invest with ING at 10% p.a, sit back and relax
  7. Make sure you are able to get a location...that's what busted my rave idea
  8. Haha we think the same...I call these peoples '90 drivers' as it seems to be the *only* speed they can do! Also 'gravity drivers' the ones that can't change gear coming into hills so they pootle along....you overtake, but on the way down gravity helps them stick to your bumper!!!! And those other twats that do massive apex turns into corners...cause they think they're driving a road-train!
  9. Great I don't feel as bad paying what I did for my car 30 months ago Especially seeing it was N/A back then. It was also a 4.5 which didn't help matters
  10. I reckons it's a great idea I was looking at doing it with my car...tiptronic GTR power was looking an attractive option....unfortunately the cost of it wasn't looking as good For me the RB30 is going to give an acceptable result for a bit less outlay.
  11. 1. Yes corners can be a pain...that's when you dive for the gearstick 2. Yeah I've measured this....it's pretty hard to beat the ECU at shifting...I've never got a quicker time manual shifitng. 3. The only time I had anything bad with the trans..was when all of the shift solenoids burnt out and I was stuck in 3rd for 2 months!
  12. I see one now and again at Oxley in the afternoon
  13. Hmmm doesn't look like it's much of an issue now...I can't find *any* stock ECU for an R34
  14. manual or auto...
  15. When is the car off the road? I want the ECU
  16. Bryan it's the same as my one was....except the not the Seca back.
  17. Yeah second hand....I'd only flog it up in no time if it was new
  18. You sit in the shitty traffic I do for 2 hours an day and tell me that I'm lazy for having an auto....it's probably the only thing that has kept me sane and from hurting others!
  19. So nothing I'm worried about then I was looking at getting a shift kit and from what I've heard that'll give jerky shifts anyway and should cover the wear issue too.
  20. The one I was looking at was only $440 cat-back...wiring is no prob
  21. Ed I'm not depserate haha, well maybe it's getting that way LOL
  22. oh......hmmm you reckon you could try the other way around for me?
  23. you've put the manual ECU in the auto???? Steve you're a champ!!!! Right time to get that ECU!!!
  24. It's in the spelling, "commeuxdore"...there you go posh as ya like!
  25. OK guys after a bit of searching around I've found that when converting an auto to manual...you can retain the auto ECU as it has no issues running without the auto trans attached. The only thing to note is a slightly different fuel curve, timing advance at lower rpm..and the annoying side effect that it can hold high revs for about 5 secs when stopping (auto choke) Looking at the ECU schematics, it has a communication port built in that TX and RX with the computer on the transmission. Does this mean an ECU from a manual car would still run in the auto...as the transmission ECU is still receiving the data from the port on the ECU. The only difference being the lack of timing adjustment and fuelling differences? I'm trying to organise a manual ECU to put in an auto car for the final test...but if anyone out there has actually tried this I'd be interested to hear. Basically what I'm getting at is...I can't for the life of me get an ECU from an auto R34...but a manual one is available
