  1. I'm heading down south for a week in Coffs, is there anything I shouldn't miss on NYE...any sweet events that happen, or should I drink myslef into a coma back at my apartment and watch the fireworks? Dan
  2. It's a shame that the ESC400 only runs for a maximum of 15 seconds... You'd need a nuclear reaction to generate the 1.21 Gigawatts of electricity needed for continual use/time travel....Emmet Brown style My biggest worry is where would you stick the flux capacitor and what would happen if you hit 88Mph down the quater mile? Dan
  3. As the title says..I'm after a picture of the pink label, just to confirm what my AFM is. thanks Dan
  4. Got my one at 45,000...just clicked over at 105,000 not a single problem...except some dodgy factory G'box solenoids at 46,000, but I didn't have to pay for that Dan
  5. Damn-it it's not MY mirage! hahaha it belongs to the GF...I'm just an unwilling passenger. Yeah the attachment to the car is a big factor, I pretty much accepted I'd have no-end of trouble getting a 34 turbo, with a sunroof....and which was as good as my N/A. Dan
  6. As slip said, there are things to be considered...in my case getting a NEO Turbo put in my N/A was prohibitively expensive..so I'm getting a bolt-on done. I've already got the turbo diff, gearbox and 5 stud hubs...the brakes are better than an N/A 33's so there wasn't too much to worry about. If you really like your car, then go for the conversion...if not buy a gts-t and whack an RB25DET in it. Dan
  7. I see it down at southbank a fair bit...I'm always never in my car when I see you around though...feel like a tool saying hi from a Mirage
  8. Yeah for a few of you guys it may be cheaper for the engine swap....in my case it isn't But as you can see there has been a fair bit of success with a few people putting a turbo on the N/A without any trouble. You'll find most of the people that say it can't be done have never looked into it or just plain don't know what they're talking about. It's good to have people like Squizz & crooser as pioneers in this area
  9. I'm looking into the possibility of getting some 20L drums of Toluene. Would anyone be interested at between $35-40 for them? I'll have a definate answer on this after Christmas, and just wanted to gauge the number of people interested? Disclaimer: Toluene is for track use only, not for use on State and public roads. I accept no liability for injury, death or damage from its use or misuse. MSDS will be supplied with Drums. Dan
  10. Brakes are quite good on the R34 N/A....but yeah I want to put in GTR calipers etc... Just have to make do with good pads and a cusco master cylinder stopper
  11. Maybe as a quick-fix aproach, you could wrap the intake pipe with fibre glass gauze, and resin. You'd have a fairly rigid pipe. But for a better result just get one made up out of alloy. Dan
  12. Parts including E-manage you should allow for $2000 maximum. Compliance plate $110 2hrs of dyno tuning $??? depending on workshop A days labour for the turbo fitting.....2 if some sort of nightmare crops up But if you're fairly confident at doing most of the fiddly work...cutting out intercooler pipe holes, replacing injectors, fitting the intercooler, making sure everything fits in general. This will slash the effort for most workshops...and keep money in your pocket. Most people will tell you just get a turbo model...but if you're like me and have grown attached to your current car it makes perfect sense. Those of you wanting more than 7Psi, maybe try and source some forged pistons, lower the compression...then you'll be less limited in the boost you can run. Getting the ECU tuned can have a dramatic effect though, squeezing out those extra Kw's while maintaining a very reliable low-boost setup. Dan
  13. I've got an E-manage in my car to take care of Air/Fuel, not sure on the GTS-t ECU, it may freak out as it's not receiving certain inputs from sensors the N/A wouldn't have. You'll need the GTS-t injectors to stay safe (got some for sale with offers over $75:) ) GTS-t AFM Hmmm stock intercooler and plumbing, makes life VERY simple. Stock exhaust manifold and turbo + dump pipe. Someone to do your engineering certificate and fit some water and oil lines to the turbo. Off the top of my head that'll be fine. I've had many different reports on power output 30-50% increase is very likely...if you use aftermarket parts, you can be looking at near 80% like another guy I know...not a bad figure for 0.5 Bar! Dan
  14. E-manage! Only option for my tiptronic to work
  15. The order has been placed, the offer of $200 per item is no longer valid...unless quantities of 10 or more are placed. Any inquires for another future order, please contact me via PM Dan
  16. Guys I really need to get repsonse from everyone that wanted one....otherwise they won't be here this side of Jan 1. I'm ready to put the order in, but need the money deposited into my account. Dan
  17. I actually am a scientist! haha I hate that description, it's a tossy term but true As far as I'm aware it's not the fact that it's Nitrogen..it's the fact it's DRY nitrogen....compressed air is always heavily loaded with moisture. When your tyres heat up the water vapour expands much more greatly than the air inside. Guy with compressors, just check your water trap whenever you use it, tons of the stuff! This is what causes the fluctuations...for a race track DRY Nitrogen is way worth it as your tyres will heat up a fair bit...but for your everyday jaunt to Coles, the tyre companies are just ripping-off Joe Blo. The reason they choose Nitrogen and not Helium or Argon, Neon etc...is the plain fact it's cheap and doesn't bleed out of the tyre as easily as other inert gasses. Oxygen is also cheap, but let's face it who wants a hot tyre full of Oxygen near all those rubber fumes...whoompa a bright white flash as your tyres spontaneously combust! Anyway that was my 2 cents Dan
  18. Re this thread: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=29482 please e-mail me at [email protected] as my PMs seem to be a bit offish at the moment, showing unread messages, yet nothing in my inbox etc. I sent payment details out to a few people, but not sure if you got them. If not please e-mail me at the above address, as I know it's working fine. I was hoping to order tomorrow, but need to fill numbers still. thanks, Dan
  19. Yeah I'm keeping compression at 10:1, running 6Psi I've seen this running fine in cars overseas in more extreme heat than we have. Higher compression means faster spooling
  20. The 100% confirmed list is as follows: Merli R33 GTR Jlnewton R33 GTR vspec2 R32 GTR This will be updated as people confirm payment & order: Dan
  21. I've got a pic somewhere of one I saw in Hawaii...they didn't really interest me though. They cost the same as a 350Z over there....exactly the same equipment found on both too...just depends what shape you want. Sorry but the 350Z wins in that instance. Dan
  22. Can you supply a few more details on them?
  23. Wouldn't sell my one at all at the moment....as it's heading to turboville, and the money has started to flow into it already:) It's a 1999 25GT, with Dark Blue Pearl paint & GReddy E-manage....turbo currently sitting on the garage floor Dan
