  1. Hell no, it was fun....I'd recommend it to anyone. High comp turbo engines are great, sounds like you're driving a steam train
  2. This kit listens between 4.8-6.4khz...it has sensitivity adjustment for eliminating background noise. Yep I agree the full jaycar ignition system would get fairly costly, that's why I used the output straight into the voltmeter so I've got a cheaper interface. Anyway I'll give it a go and see how it is.
  3. Funny as this sounds, I recommend you take a trip to Jaycar fo the speakers and Amps ie response Kevlars and response monoblock 1000WRMS....JVC head units all the way though!!!
  4. For those that like to solder! OK Jaycar sell a knock sensor kit that is designed to interface with their ignition system (but the system starts to get expensive especially with the programmer etc etc)...but the output is luckily linear in relation to knock intensity; 0 -5v range. You can take the output of their knock sensor kit and wire it into their bar graph voltage display kit (set at 0-5v input) and you've got a nice visual knock warning with graduations!!! All for under $40
  5. I managed 96rwkw with an auto 25GT
  6. Paper clips at the ready!!!!! As the document says, turns the ignition to "on" short the two terminals indicated on the consult plug (clipped covertly on the underside of the dash near where your right knee lives), count the flashes, look up the code diagnostic.doc
  7. A stock turbo on the N/A engine is mostly on boost, they're actually more whiney than a normal GTT. My one used to huff and puff all over the place

    34 Gt-toffset..

    350Z wheels...30+ fit nicely
  9. Stock R34 BOV is fine with a 2535
  10. You mean fog-light holes.....the lights were gone when the car arrived hahaha
  11. That's the going rate I'm afraid...most places I went to after copping a hit in the front all wanted ~$400 Now on another matter, what condition is your current front bar in Bryn....PM me with a price for it.
  12. Depends who you get them from.....or did you mean all good stories A reputable place like Deatschwerks who flow-match injectors, replace cores and supply full reports with them are actually very good. Prices are fantastic for R34's and they offer trade-in. +1 for the 550's they used to sell....600 is now their current option for decent power upgrades. http://www.deatschwerks.com/catalog/produc...products_id=208 Talk to David, he'll put your mind at ease.
  13. Worded similar to Nissan Australias attempt
  14. It's funny I went down this path a little while ago plugging in what would be better for the average Joe (me) and came up with the VQ30DET swap. Prices for the VQ30DET Neo are pretty good in Japan, aftermarket wrap-around manifolds are easy to get + a nice HKS single would see some decent power for no massive outlay, plus you get to sell off the VQ35DE at the end Yes you lose 0.5L but you've got a more stable setup to begin with thanks to the VQ30 being built for FI
  15. No idea on part numbers, just got to a wreckers....boost sensor is drivers side rear-corner on the engine bay behind the strut tower, the oil temp sensor is a small can looking thing with a wire going to it, joined to the alloy ring that the oil-filter screws into. Should be zero drilling, just running wires Dan
  16. OK these are still loitering around Currently White on black.....were in use since '98 so being remade would improve their looks, even moreso now the diamond can be removed and you can have 33GTS instead of 33-GTS Offers over $800 please
  17. Drove like a girl all weekend.......10.0L/100kms OMG!!!! The best I've ever managed is 12.5L/100kms My average last week was 18.8L/100kms...but was way more fun
  18. Sure don't have it, they've got a better TCS system....the RB25DE
  19. Oil temp you'll need to grab a sender unit off a GTT or a GTR and screw it into the side of where the filter goes..then wire to the gauge. Grab a boost sensor of an R33/R33 and wire that to the boost sensor, at least it'll show vacuum.
  20. Don't do that!!!!! They're more trouble than the whole engine swap, the R34 GTT and GTR dash are far from a straight swap, you need to rewire all three plugs to get the pin orientation correct.
  21. I think importing is the way to go, I've seen many more horror stories with locally sourced cars unfortuantely. The V35 Premium my dad just got is what I'd class "as new" (I don't say that often) and was a steal. We looked at local non-premiums that were "well seasoned" and cost $10K more, pffft! Anyway, all cars have issues at some point, it's just how frequently and how costly they get....it's a risk car ownership brings with it
  22. JVC are quite good, everything they sell is dual NTSC/PAL.....luckily as I bought one before thinking what I needed to wire into an MFD
  23. Well my one is back in the car after 6 months of not having it (took it out when I was looking at selling the car, and someone bought my one off me) I can't believe I went that long without it!!! No thinking, it's already off
