R32 GTS25 is my pick, doesnt have VVT which does make a nice topend difference though. Ideally if you can pick up an R32 GTS25 that has already had the very easy to do 3l bottom end conversion, then you can achieve 150rwkw+ with the right mods. R33 and R34 if you can get a good one for cheap then why not... But ultimately, I wouldnt spend too much on an N/A as a P plater cos you'll eventually get onto the turbo bandwagon later, save the dosh for a turbo car then Z32s are a nice bus, not a fan of the big veee-six however, and no where near as easy to work on if you are inclined that way.

Cheers, I might just wait to see if I can get the lot off one source first, will keep that one of yours in mind for now though. Thanks heaps.

Well its not a 26 head, so it can only possibly be a 25 head..... I'd say you got sold an aftermarket RB26 manifold to be honest, it doesnt look like an RB20 one off the top of my head

Need the 2 water feed lines, top oil feed line and all the banjo fittings... For a stock R33 turbo off a series 1 I believe, but all should be the same as far as I know. At a minimum I will need the oil and water lines, can possibly source correct banjo fittings, but if someone has all these bits then great Located in Tassie so happy to pay for postage and handling etc. Cheers Paul

RB20/25 exhaust side is identical, so that would line up regardless of what sort of head you had. You may very well have a RB20 head, as the inlet manifolds are different and not interchangable..... Easiest way to tell would be check the combustion chamber on the head as RB20 block has a 78mm bore and RB25 is 86mm. Hope that helps you mate.

Cheers mate, PM to me payment details etc. Paul.

As the topic says, must be a CAS off a silvertop RB20, its the bracket that bolts to the engine behind the top front engine cover. Located in tas so am happy to pay for postage etc. Cheers Paul.

Can Engine From Track Only Car Be Used In Road Car?
frigjam replied to 351ciofgrunt's topic in General Automotive Discussion
If you cant, then it would be the first Ive heard..... I cant see anything wrong with that in your state, definitely is OK here in Tas. Its purely the chassis itself that cant be registered, any other parts you can swap over into your vehicle as they wouldnt know, and the engine itself should be ok if you inform them of the new engine number in your car. -
Also, best bet for parts is yahoo auctions japan..... Its easy to buy stuff off there through SlideWize imports. But like I said, many parts are interchangable between the imported R31 and local Z31.
-
Yeah the 200ZR is a fantastic little car, good to see another one out there. If you want any info about them, I know a fair bit about the RB20 redtops, and the Z31/R31 series in general (as heaps of parts are interchangable between the two) also have owned pretty much all the variants of the Z31/R31 series at some stage.

Z31 Fairlady 200zr - Who Else Has One?
frigjam replied to frigjam's topic in General Automotive Discussion
The old beast is finally finished (well 98% anyhow) this is how its stands at the moment... Yet to be dyno tuned, only real engine mods are ported and polish exhaust ports, r33 turbo, walbro 255lph pump, malpassi fuel reg, apexi avc-r and have a NIStune ECU for it also to go in... It feels fairly quick now, quicker than my R32 so at least 150rwkw I would imagine. -
Still got them, unfortunately they are still in the car and it might not be until after the new year I get a chance to put the new HKS ones in
-
Don't mean to stick my head in where its probably not wanted, but a mate of mine is doing up a 240K GT coupe at the moment, we discussed all the pro's and cons of staying with the L series engine, EFI, etc..... and in the end the FAR FAR better option was an RB30E, almost bolts straight in with little modification. And while im here i'll throw in the sales pitch too - I have a great condition complete running RB30 out of a 1990 series 3 with EVERYTHING (even the extractors are still bolted on), so if your interested... Cheers Paul.
-
Yep no worries, either type will be perfect for what I need... Cheers.
-
As above, for an R32 pref a GTR one but GTS-T will do, the bonnet catch part that bolts to the radiator support panel.... Want one cheap and local if possible Cheers Paul.

mark i've got 2 x 265/45 17s but they are semi slicks and barely road legal - the cops were all over me every time i got pulled up. plus they were on fat 10" rims which bulged out past the guards so that wouldnt help. afraid to say it but your probably looking at new ones i reckon. good luck mate

Im after an R32 GTR grill any colour and in reasonable nick, may consider a damaged one if someone has one to offer. Also in need of an RB20DET silvertop TPS, pref with the plug and a small amount of wiring... if not just the TPS will be fine. Located in Tas, will pay for any shipping etc to get it here. PM me or sms/ring on 0428310449 Cheers Paul

mate you'd be silly to drive it back in my opinion, I got my coupe from QLD and it was a non going car, 1000 to devonport and all I had to do was trailer it from dev boat terminal. it was even cheaper transport for a fully working registered car, I don't remember exactly but my Zed came from Qld also. the guys are www.autotrans.com.au and I've got 4 or 5 cars interstate through them. all up add the expenses and time wasted stuffing around going to qld... unless u wanted a holiday at the same time or something. I worked out it was cheaper just transporting the cars down!

check below is a pic of the engine plate. this is a 2 seater 1988 model. PZ refers to being the 2 seater. z31 vin number re the pics of the engine comp, basically if unbolt it off frame of the car (easy should be 2 bolts) then lay it on the carpet, i need close up photos of both sides of all 4 plugs that go into the ECU. just identifies possible problems with my wiring as non of my colour coding matches, and i imagine yours will be the same as mine. email them to me and as hi res as possible would be great!!!!!! hopefully finally get this old dog going properly. to give you an idea here is my ECU at present.... z31 ecu and that is 10x better than when i got it. and it at least runs now - sorta... -
Z31 Fairlady 200zr - Who Else Has One?
frigjam replied to frigjam's topic in General Automotive Discussion
nah that not really what I need... the engine computer is located in the passenger kick panel - about 3 screws and that comes out. 2 bolts and the computer it self drops down... I need some detailed photos of the wiring of all 4 plugs that run into it. all my coour codes are out of whack and I've got limited info on the redtop rb20 so some good photos would be awesome. if u can do that and pref email them to [email protected] that would be much appreciated. if theres anything u need I've probably got it, wrecking a few cars at the moment a aussie z31 and import r31.. -

Nice 2+2 Benson... I have the same front lip on mine, but ive had to take it off the car at the moment. Im still having major problems with the wiring in this car somewhere. There's a rather big load on the ECU and its getting VERY hot. Ive had a few second opinions and no one can work it out
