I'm pretty sure it's been shut now, due to noise. Cool little track though, real shame. But I could be wrong.

Hi All, Hope your new years as started in the right way, I spent mine, surfing, fishing and drinking way too much... Northern NSW is bloody tops! Started back on the car. I've already learn some new things this year. OEM fitment means, you’re going to have to cut the sh#t out of your car to make it fit. Universal fitment means, it won't universally fit without a lot of swearing. And real race parts never come with instructions. Fixed up the exhaust. The cat had about 160Km's on it. When I looked down it at the light, I could see none. Welding seems to be getting better. Flanges and flex pipe are from ECS, online price are good and ship on time. New intercooler Welded in a new support bracket, for the intercooler which helps tie in the oil cooler lines. 25mm RHS 3mm thick New rebuilt gearbox, solid mount and clutch slave. New short shifter , as the S1 R33 gear box shifter, doesn't have the same fitting as a S2 R33 gear box, by the looks of it. I could be wrong? If any one knows please sing out.

Quick up date. Old gearbox out, as my mate put it, "Awwww, the gear box has had little baby gearboxes". To be honest, can't see what the big deal is about pulling these gearboxes in and out, I had a couple of reads online about, how much of a pig they are to get in and out. Think some of these people need to grow a set. I did mine on my own with a trolly jack. the one thing, which really helped was an 1 meter long extension bar, to get the top gear box bolt. I was really happy to find a new Exedy HD clutch and a new flywheel. Also a new Gates racing timing belt. Someone must have cared for this car in the passed. I'm installing a new rad, intercooler and oil lines. Almost complete. Will update with pic later. Hope everyone had a nice Xmas and all the best for the new year. Regards Nigel.

Just did it myself, 3M carbon wrap off ebay. Really easy.

Sold the excel cup car Was going to run with the outlaws with my R33 under aasa, two cars written off and another three with big panel damage, last weekend at lakeside. Don't know if I can be bothered. I'm getting sick of replacing door mirrors and fixing damage. I might just stick with time attack. Still PSCRAC has allow the r33 to run in there group, I may have a run with them. Thing I've found with motor sports is there is % of people that are complete tools and will do anything to win a $2 pastic cup. It's starting to wear a little thin. If I'm going to run my car and spend all that money, I had really better enjoy myself.

The good, bad and the ugly.... Ran today out at QR, Very wet. Ran the National circuit car was great, just took it easy, getting a feel for the car and the fact semis in the wet. Oil temp max at 95° Water temp 100° O2 WOT 11-12 ratio nice and safe @9PSI. easy 200 kph down the back straight. Project MU pads are unreal. For the ugly, just started to try and push on the sprint track. Gear box dropped a poo poo valve. Lot's of grinding. On the bright side I've just picked up a new rebuilt gearbox.... I'm not looking forward to dropping the box out though. Still that's motor sport. Build it, race it, f#%k it and then fix it HAHA!

Hi josh, Yep 295s, there on 9.5' rims. Just fit. Rolled the guards then used a slide hammer. It's a 20ft car and the tyres where pretty much free. When I had the alignment done, it was doubled checked for clearance. All good. I've done a couple of hot laps up and down the street no rubbing. Just have to wait and see if there good on the track. The bloke I purchased them off use to run them with no problem. Thanks for the reply.

The car is pretty much complete! So I've also entered the car in it's first event on the 12th at QR, I be very happy if the car doesn't break. So fingers crossed. I'm really looking forward to getting it out on the track! Cheers

Had to up grade the car trailer, didn't like the idea of using a single axle to tow 1300kg of skyline. Before Hammer time Demag safety crane yellow

Well the MS3, went into full fail boat mode! So we are going to leave it for a xmas build, while we have a rethink. I.E. read the bloody RB25 circuit diagram. So screw nissan and there ECCS relays! Should be all good. What we are trying to do, is use the standard loom and make it plug and play with out cutting into the stock loom to much, when I say we, I really mean Grant! I'll take to a supercar with a angle grinder.

Mad soldering skills! I'm not drinking tonight, so I won't be hung over. Think this will be the first time we've worked on a car, with me been sober! Don't know wether that is a good thing or a bad thing, haha. Can't wait to start logging data again, I'm really missing tuning studio!
-
Cheers Grants popping over this weekend, we are hopeful the ms3 is going to fire. Also found out the front of the car has taken a hit in the past, slightly bent driver side . So I'm having the front camber arm machined. To allow for a little more camber on the driver side. To straighten up the alinement. Can't wait to get it on the track. Looking forward to a little dickyspeed master action ;-) I'm going to be pretty slow, I've not had a drive for about 6 months.

Well, it's been a while, I got smashed with work, still pays the bills. Cars all most complete, off to Ken @ Accurate Suspension, on Monday for the Alinement. Little update. The best tool in my shed, under a grand, does the job welds locker diffs, and parts I need for the car. I've never taken a welding course, just a little shed time. I'm no gun but, I've built my own trailer harness point exhaust parts etc. I figure if I hit with a big hammer she's all good in the hood. I've got stuck into the guages and kill switch this weekend. New 2 way diff Bumped into a bloke off loading his race wheels and tires, 295 35 R17, should grip!! I bitter that I missed out on running last week, so next date is going to be on the 14th Dec @ QR for a sprint meet, fingers crossed. Just got to add a extra axle to my trailer, don't like the idea of a 1300kg car on a single axle.

Looks like a great class to run in, with good clean sportsman like racing. Must be a truck load of fun. Nice driving!

^^^ Lucky bastards. QLD rules suck balls.

Thought I'd add my 2 cents. I've race a mx5 for the last three years, while they handle well, the gear box and motors are crap. The BP motor is a lemon. You can turbo them, but to do it right for the track 15k. 180-200hp NA around the 15k mark which will last 30 hours be for you need a re-build. Clubman locost 7 type cars, are quick, but if you hit anything, god help you. Most are made with 25mm RHS. I've gone with a gtst r33, they are cheap. Better motor gear box than the r32. Only 100kg heavier. It should pull under 60 seconds around lakeside for under 10k, good bang for buck IMO, Good luck with it, I hope to see a build tread soon.
-
Nup, I've got to add another axle to the car trailer as well. So there's no hurry at the moment. 1300kg car on a single axle trailer is pushing it. I'm going to miss the next race meeting. So I'm going to do testing and get it ready for next year. Any way I've ran out of parts, so your more than welcome to come over and sit in the paddling pool and drink beer!

AGI Turned up with the goods on Friday.

Cheers, Really hanging to get out on the track. I was aiming for the next round of qr sports and sedans. Which is on the 3&4th of nov. I'll be pushing it to make it. Don't really think taking a untested car racing is the best idea. Might have to do a couple of track days and There is always next year. 1st world problems eh!

Off the blocks, Quick drive up the street, all seems good, wife hates it. So it must be cool Ride hight is a little low, need to raise it about 20-30mm, I'll have to wait till the coil overs settle. Sold a bit of gear off the car, so I should come in around the 10k mark. Seems like I'm under tired in the rear, with the 225s, I'm having a look for some 9" wheels so I can fit some 255s or 265s. Got to love motor sport, you can spent 100k plus on a motor, but go wider than 9" on a rim and you can't race

Oil cooler in Replaced knacked water inlet pipe on the manifold. New S/S brake lines New Discs and MU pads. New Camber and caster adjustment arms front Lock out and Camber arms rear $10 worth on paint on the wheels Cage should be here from AGI next week and so should the KAAZ 2 way. BTW aero bonnet cilps suck balls to install!

Couple of them run prod sports in QLD. Under 2B I think That's why I sold my mx5. Prod sports was just getting to quick.
-
Good luck with the build, Just a point, if your short of funs now, wait to you hit the track. There is a saying in motor sport, how to turn money into noise. Nothing beats it though!
-
Also just to note, It looks like production sports cars, are going to allow R32,33 and 34s run in there class. So My Co-driver in the excel cup class and I are going to run the boat in the CUE one hr event next year. So I'm pretty happy. I can run the car in QR sports and sedans, Improved production (with a turbo choker) and now or soon to be Production sports cars. It's looking like the skyline is a good choice.

Just so people know, Grant is one of my good mates; I'm very lucky to have a couple of friend who help me out a lot, with cars. Grant is an I.T. geek and a bit of a gun with a soldering iron. There is no money in this ECU, MS is a DIY ECU, with a worldwide group of like-minded people who build these thinks for fun. I first meet grant a couple of years ago, when I was building a MS2 for my MX5. He is one of the good blokes, who is happy to share is know age. We not to sure how this is going to pan out, I'm sure there will be a couple of ups, downs and head scratching. But once we get it running, we will have a list of what parts you need to by and pretty much how to DIY your own full stand alone ECU.
