  1. When I tweaked my cover last week, it took some haggling to get them to come up in agreed value. The operator I was talking to said that she was "searching their database" and had found half a dozen 1989 R32 GTR Skylines all insured for around $12,000 - $14,000, so the figure I was asking for was "Probably at the cusp of too much". When I offered to send them receipts, photographs, build sheets etc, she came around a bit and ended up locking it in, but made it sound like she was doing me a personal favour. I know there are stock R32 GTR's out there in "average" condition that would have been purchased in the last few years before the price spike, but still... $12,000? I don't think so.
  2. I adjusted my policy today with NRMA VV&C after doing some work to the car. Still very easy to deal with. However, it's worth noting that the woman I was speaking with said that next year they are changing everything up a bit. Most importantly is that they are going to do away with the 9000km a year limit, and change it to "Do you drive your car more than 10 times per month" . I can see that being easier to manage, but will open the flood gates a bit I assume, and more customers = higher premiums I would be thinking. Still, we'll see how it goes.
  3. Turpentine - Available in most hardware shops or even supermarkets

  5. I know it hasn't quite been a year since the original poster put this up, but it's close enough to it. Thought I'd throw a current testimonial into the mix. R32 GTR Just Car Agreed - $15,000 Excess - $700 Premium - $1095 NRMA Vintage, Veteran, Classic Agreed - $20,000 Excess - $300 Premium - $580 I now have choice of repairer, and the $3000 cover for tow/accommodation/hire-car if I am more than 100km from home. They couldn't be more helpful and were only too happy to chat about mods and cover options. Two enthusiastic thumbs up from me!
  6. Thanks mate - That was a huge help, I found some on eBay from the UK and ordered them. Just in case anyone searches the forum for similar in the future, here they are; http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SLOW-BLOW-FUSE-PAL-STANDARD-LOCKING-CLIP-TYPE-JAPANESE-GREEN-30-AMP-NISSAN-/301653193029 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SLOW-BLOW-FUSE-PAL-STANDARD-LOCKING-CLIP-TYPE-JAPANESE-BROWN-25-A-NISSAN-FUS2525-/301640152915
  7. Cheers, I'll try Ashdown tomorrow and see how I go. Then Nissan genuine I guess. I'd rather avoid getting them from a wrecker.
  8. Hey All, Yesterday I blew an ignition fuse while I was out and about. Managed to swap it out with the ABS fuse to get home, but now need to replace it (and realistically, all the others). I stopped in at Supercheap Auto, but they didn't have any... Any idea where to buy them from?
  9. Same style as the ones I just took off the car - Hopefully yours are better quality than mine were!
  10. A little hard to see in the picture, but the thread is stripped and the threaded part is actually cracked right through. The threaded section just slides in and out lol... so glad it finally let go on the driveway, and not on either the skidpan, or the freeway on the way home.
  11. Will do - I put the new ones in on Tuesday... took me longer than I thought it would, but all good now. The clunking/groaning/knocking sound I have become accustomed to has stopped which is good, and the front actually feels a bit tighter. I will take a pic of the old busted one when I get home.
  12. niZmO_Man to the rescue!! Came through with a set of Hardrace arms for me. Legend! Thanks for all the input guys. I think I will still see what GKTech come out with, and/or go with UAS option in the long run, but these will certainly get me out of the tricky spot I am in.
  13. Bump - These are still sitting in the garage. Brand new. $400 - Pickup
  14. Yeah I am more and more leaning towards the UAS arms. I had decided to buy the HardRace ones today, to fit in the meantime until I could get my hands on the UAS set for the long term. However, I went to JDMYard today to buy them, only to be told a bloke had bought the last set earlier on in the day. So I am still without a set and looking to get something sorted. I've never organised (or even been part of) a group buy before, does anyone know what the go is? Got a contact at UAS? Forum member? I'm keen to get them asap. I have an event on 7th March I need the car set up well and truly before then.
  15. Do they do an adjustable design? I can see the fixed size ones, which would be good, except I like to be able to adjust them at home depending on what event I am doing.
  16. Yeah I got caught out on that too... went looking for something I knew was there before I realised they had a separate page for R32, and R32 GTR.
  17. They are on the Hardrace site - http://www.hard-race.com.au/index.php?route=product/product&path=25_714_722&product_id=238 But I see your point about the design.

  19. Thanks guys - Have had a look at the UAS and Hardrace ones. Seem to be much of a muchness really. I'm somewhat desperate for them, so I don't think I can hang out for GKTech to release something. Might see what availability there is for Hardrace and UAS, and let that make the decision for me.
  20. Hey all, My R32 GTR has some pretty cheap adjustable upper camber arms on the front, which have always creaked and groaned for as long as I have owned the car. Today, the front left finally gave up the ghost and broke. (Luckily, just as I bumped up the driveway coming home and not on the M5 at 110km/h). So I am looking at replacing them with some quality bits. Anyone have any suggestions / recommendations ? The car is street driven, but I use it for track work and motorkhana competitions, so I like to be able to adjust the camber depending on the use. I have flicked through the forum and searched, and read a few threads but they're all old and possibly outdated. Any help would be great, cheers.
  21. Silver R32 GTR at the Shell servo in Picton this morning. Hope you enjoyed your cruise mate - Car looks mint!
  22. Spotted white R32 GTR "MY GTR" on Great Western turning onto Reservoir Rd towards M4 this morning.
