  1. Hey all, have L24E ECU, complete engine loom (missing one or two sensors), dissy, coil and brand new water pump, offers? (I'll say $50 for the sake of naming a price) R30 Skyline front headlights and indicators good condition offers? ($20; as above) I'm in Tassie, will try to help with postage if required, but can't offer guarantees, OZ Post tends to break things! PM or txt 0418190918
  2. try www.twincam.info
  3. You were right, compressor wheel was just over 60mm, inducer was a bit had to measure, but widest point was about 57 mm.
  4. Hang in there dude, money is just a tool, and you need to learn how to use this tool. I'm interested in why you want to spend big $$$ on a car to take on the track. I always wanted to get on the track soooo bad, and I did it as soon as I could, but I did it in a pretty crappy, but fun car ($1800.00 Twin Cam Corolla) Had a ball, learnt heaps and didn't cost me more than a few of hundred dollars total in preparation. I reckon what's actually brought you undone is not the fact you want to get on the track, but you were unrealistic about what you needed to get there. Get on top of your debts, then work out where you want to go with motorsport/your car and how you are going to get there, break that up into small, achievable steps, and you'll get there eventually.
  5. Thanks heaps for that, from what you (and others) have said, this turbo would be a complete waste of time on a 12A, I'll probably go with a 13B standard turbo of some sort. What is it worth? (given that impellers and shaft play wise it looks good, but needs new seals and wastegate valve and actuator.)
  6. Shame I'm in Tassie...c'mon guys, what size turbo is this, (e.g. T02, T03) its a Garrett and has code LF0508 on the compressor housing.
  7. FORMER skyline owner, short story: R30 blown turbo, R30 replaced turbo, R30 swapped for RX7, Me wanting to turbo RX7 oh look got this turbo sitting around doing nothing...
  8. Started cleaning up what I think was the original turbo off my former L20ET HR30 Nissan Skyline Passage, and got a shock..."Garrett" and "Made in USA". Is this right? I just assumed the standard turbo would be a Japanese one, am I wrong? There is no sign of significant damage to either wheel, and I am thinking of rebuilding it and using it on a 12A rotary engine. Would it be suitable for this, and will I be able to get parts to rebuild it? Will get some pics on Sunday.
  9. What? Has MST got sick of taking Drifters money? Gee, that would be really great thinking; push Drifting underground, so guys can only do it ILLEGALLY, on the streets, boy there are some real intellectual giants involved in motorsport in Tasmania...
  10. After the 4age (legendary corolla engine) spat a rod, I bought a 7afe (different head, taller block, same bore) for $200 from a wreckers. ripped out the 4age and box, split them joined the 7afe and box and put them back in. Fart arsed around trying to get the eletrics hooked up, gave up, ripped the 7afe head off put the 4age head on, despite the fact that one of the cam bearings was totally rooted, oh yeah, re-used the head bolts LOL, that was 40,000 Ks ago...still going strong, touch wood. Its really funny most of the mechanics I talked to were like "It can't be done" "That's a waste of a head gasket" LOL

  12. Impressive car, faster than some other Skylines that I know have had some fairly serious $$$ spent on them...
  13. This guy drove fantastically well on Sunday at Baskerville, took it easy to start off with, finished REALLY fast. Was the fastest Skyline running on the day by a clear margin, sounded quite different to all the R32 GTSTs too...Different gear ratios?
  14. Maybe a bit dis-honest, but say you bought it interstate as a 15 year old import, and have misplaced the paperwork. Worked for me, I never received all the papers with my car, but I just pointed out the obvious things that had been done (new seatbelts, fuel filler neck etc.), and the dude was like, yeah that's cool....
