  1. Yeah that's what I meant, thanks for clarification. machg
  2. Better pics (needs a wash!)
  3. legitimate bump, pics added.
  4. EOI: 1984 Nissan Skyline HR30 Passage, The Good: rare Jap import (L20ET), sensible mods (R33 GTST front mount, RB20DET Turbo), turbo timer, electric/power everything, ultra reliable, 11L per 100 K’s average driving, straight, minimal rust, some spares. The Bad: unknown K’s (speedo cable stuffed, got car with 85,000 K’s six years ago), needs a little tidying up, needs handbrake fixing (probably needs rear caliper kit), needs speedo cable, today was last day of registration (can register for 6 months for right deal). Would ideally like to straight swap for 1st: stocko AE86 Sprinter, 2nd: untidy AW11 MR2, 3rd: good early Mazda Rx7, or similar (sporty, light and rwd). Sorry pics aren't great. $3,500 ono? Location: Carlton (past Sorell, Tasmania)
  5. Thinking along the lines of an L28et in an HR30; the L28 out of a 280C is the only one with a front bowl sump, right? Also cheap 4-stud brake upgrade? Z31 300ZX brakes?
  6. I struggled with good quality small drive sockets (1/4 inch drive?) still lost lots of skin!
  7. Cheers, I'll try a bit of advance tomorrow. machg
  8. Haven't had a chance to clean/play yet. Will the Skyline ping if I advance the timing? (I'm in Tassie and we only get shit for fuel down here {95 RON}) machg
  9. Cheers, I'll try checking and cleaning some more. machg
  10. Don't have a timing light, just twist the distributor around a bit to get more advance?
  11. Guys, My L20et is not happy off boost. When cruising on partial throttle, it is very sluggish when I give it a little more throttle. Once full boost is reached it goes fine. Also when cruising, it will some times stutter for a short period. It never breaks down or stops the car, but it does seem to be getting worse. I have changed leads, so I don't think they are the problem. I suspect it could be something to do with the throttle position sensor or oxygen sensor. Does the engine run closed loop operation at cruise and open loop at wide open throttle? Any ideas what could be going on? Its standard apart from RB20DET turbo and small front mount intercooler. Cheers, machg
  12. I don't know when "Passage" started, but I'm pretty sure that "Passage" is Nissan {Skyline} for four doors. I've got a mate in NSW with and R31 Passage and its a four door too.

Like I said, rich STi drivers, I pretty sure a condition of P/As selling STis was that they supply 98 RON. I reckon it would have to be a bit close to the wind from an ACCC point of view; P/As selling to some people and not others. machg
  14. Yeah, Thats my car, don't look too close at the paint. The black is my first attempt at spraying, and it aint to flash! Anyway hopefully it will have a new screen tomorrow. machg
  15. Hi all, Does anyone know if the windscreens in r30 and r31's are interchangable? machg
  16. Went to police, as recovering the object that struck me was impossible, the police said that I have no proof that the object came from the truck. The chances of it being a rock kicked up from the sealed main road would have to be 1 in a million, but if it went to court, they could argue that there's still that chance. Thankfully managed to find a second hand screen in Launceton, so hopefully, I'll get out of this for not too much $$$$. Does anyone know a good cheap windscreen installer? Cheers, Mark Goninon
  17. See post in Tasmania section machg
  18. Help, Had the windscreen in my HR30 Passage smashed by something falling of a TOLL garbage truck today. Because whatever it was didn't actually smash through the screen and injure me those lovely people at TOLL won't pay a cent. Does anyone have a screen for an R30? This car is my daily driver and I need it to get to work. Any help greatly appreciated. machg 0418190918

Tassie; believe it when you see it, its possible we will never get PULP 98. (Unless your a rich STi driver or Targa Tas. competitor)

Geee Tasmanian motorists getting treated like second class citizens, I would never have thought that would ever happen! machg
  21. Hmmmm, (MP thinking) Spend a absolute shitload of money making the roads half decent, or just keep lowering the speed limits and rake in more revenue? What do you think the government is going to opt for? machg
  22. I'd still check your fuel lines though....just in case. machg
  23. A small leak in your intake plumbing, e.g. one of those pissy emission control hoses coming off? Thats what cut my boost. machg
  24. You didn't hook up the coolant hoses? Probably doesn't matter, I plumbed coolant to the turbo from the heater hose connections at the firewall. machg
