  5. Follow the sheep? wtf.. People use FMIC kits because they work. $200 for a side mount, and for $130 extra you can get a FMIC kit which will do a the same job, and will support more than 200rwkw if you do chooses to go there later. I mean he has an Rb25, all he is has to do is boost it to 13psi or so, with exhaust adn shit, and that side mount becomes useless as he will make over 200rwkw anyways. Why would you bother going a sidemount? I know I wouldnt. He will put the side mount in, boost it to 13psi, get about 200rwkw, drive it hard, either on street or track and the thing will suck, then he will want more power and he will have to rip the side mount out, and spend another $300odd and get a FMIC, when he should have just bought one in the first place. Honestly, with prices of FMIC kits now, why would you bother with a side mount?
  6. Hey Purchased an intercooler kit last night from Japan for my R32. Its a BLiTZ M intercooler kit, and the owner in Japan isnt' sure if it was a 2 layer intercooler or 3? Now, whats the difference in a 2 layer and 3 layer intercoolers? How can you tell if its a 2 layer or 3 layer? Searched the forums, but couldn't find anything and had a quick look through google but same, nothing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Abu
  7. I know for the RB20DET its Z387, RYCO or REPCO brand, they will be able to find it with that part number. I'm assuming it would be the same for an RB25DET, but someone else can clarify?

  10. Would be 600x300 man. Will bolt up to any intercooler which is 600 wide, any shorter and you will need to use longer silicone joiners on each end. If its shorter than 300 high you will need to mount it further down to compensate for the height variance.

  12. Hey Recently been attempting to rectify an issue with the heating in my R32. It seems to not adjust temperature from hot to cold, or vise versa, it just holds one constant temperature no matter what the unit is set on. I ran it in that diagnostics mode and didn't mean shit to me, so I gave up. I did a little test yesterday, I started off by bleeding the heating system and thats all fine, water is flowing fine through there. I then checked the radiator hoses to see if they where the correct temperatures, that was fine, bottom one cold, top one hot, and hot water is feeding through under the manifold through that heater pipe. BUT The heater hoses on he firewall are dead cold. They have water in them it feels like, but it is not warm. I'm assuming thats why my heating is not working, but why isn't the hot water flowing into the heater core is my question? I tried it when the car was cold, idled till it was at operating temperature, even drove it hard so it was well into operating temperature and still the heater hoses where cold. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Abu

  17. Similar sort of issue with my car when I got it. Mine was pining, replaced the fuel pump with a GTR one, ran a bit better, but still pinged on boost, in the higher revs with a bit of load. Checked all the lines, there was no leaks that I could see.. Few days later I could smell fuel fumes in the cabin, checked the line and realised that there was a slight split in the return hose, off the fuel tank side (off the cradle that the pump sits on). I left it and didnt do anything, ping slowly got worse and lower into the RPM range, and the fuel return line split and started leaking fuel. Replaced the return fuel line and it now runs mint, no ping at all.. Cant really get my head around how a split in the return line, no leaking any fuel just pressue? can cause ping. But my theory was it wasnt holding enough pressure (air pressure) in the rail to keep it feeding enough fuel? Anyways, I sugguest you check your fuel return lines under the car, maybe be worn and split?
  18. A GTR intercooler will do the job for you. There are plenty of cars, as well as GTR's themselves, still running the stock intercooler setup on over 250rwkw. I just met a guy the other day, off these forums who has his GTR tuned to 285KW@ all 4 wheels, and has retained the stock intercooler setup & plumbing. Those intercoolers are also a quality built tube and fin design as GTST said, cant go wrong for what you pay.

  23. First meet point, Bunnings. I'd say about 30 car's if that.. Stayed till 10:15 and left.. Now there is about a 15 car cruise up to Mt Dandenong.
